    The Existence of God

Let me tell you what Atheists believe. Biogenesis happened by chemical reactions that made very very basic forms of life, those basic forms of life eventually combined and made animals, and eventually human life. Those basic life forms eventually made small animals, and blah blah I don't feel like telling the whole story but all life ends up coming in there.

What I don't understand is that how everything was able to set it self up on Earth to make it a perfect place for every animal. It is perfect because you have a food chain, plant life that makes oxygen, mammals that make carbon dioxide for the plant life, and a food chain. So somehow that was perfectly set up on its own to give all life a chance to survive a life time. Everything fits perfectly and it happened ALL on its own. BULL SHIT! The truth is there was once a moment when there wasn't time, without time you can't have matter, without matter there is absolutely nothing. God is the unmoved mover, he is eternal and is the starting point. You ask "Who created God"? He is eternal because it is impossible to have infinite movers.

How God reveals himself: He comes down in the form of a human named Jesus, and God, who is Jesus, somehow is able to predict many many things of the future that is later written in the Bible to make sure it does not die out. So far the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian religion are the only religions that have books that tell the future, and since God knows all he tells the future. So we can narrow it down to those three religions to find the true religion, but for now I don't know which one is true, but I'm deciding to stick with Christianity. Anyways, God reveals himself by giving prophecies, but he will not completely reveal himself because the First Commandment will be able to be followed by all 6 billion people on this Earth and the faith would be so simple to follow. You are put on Earth so your faith can be tested.

Demonic Possession has already been proven. There have actually been a few cases that people are dragged all over the floor by nothing, but something invisible, which they call a demon. Then when the priest puts Holy symbols they miraculously come back. Some cases that are thought to be demonic possession are just a disease or sickness, but some and almost most cases have no scientific proof behind them. Demons are allowed on this Earth because God does not rule Earth, he is at war with Satan and when Revelation occurs that will be the end of it all, until one thousand years and Satan comes back, then he kicks his ass again, end of story.

Scientology in my view is complete bullshit ok i strongly doubt there's any Scientologist here but here's the little retarded Scientology story:

One day a somewhat famous SCIENCE FICTION writer sais "wow i want a lot of cash imma make up some bull shit make it into a religion and earn some cash!"
So one day he wrote "the guide to dianetics"(or something like that) and a lot of people believed him.He started "churches" all over the world and telling people that if you gave the church money and went through a "cleansing" your pains and worries would be gone, now this wasn't a small amount of cash this was from 5k to 10k.So after all his "churches" got plently of cash he stole it and left the country (Or state) the police caught him and he went to jail for a couple of years.

Anyways the story writes it self:
The evil lord xenu dropped aliens in volcanoes nuked them and use soul absorbers to send them to humans..

HE WAS A SCIENCE FICTION WRITER FOR GOD'S SAKE!
no explanation is needed to explain this retardation known as Scientology.

That's one atheistic point of view as to the origins of life, but it's not the definition of atheism.

    Hi there. See: http://www.sythe.org/showpost.php?p=4494801&postcount=3522

I think that you have an overly-idealized view of the biological world. You have no expertise regarding cell chemistry, the mechanics of the ecosystem, or population dynamics. In fact, I think I could safely say that you have no expertise on any of the relevant issues, at all. Given, this, how can you make such claims as "it all works together perfectly", when it very clearly doesn't? How can you proclaim the existence of a divine intelligence when your only argument for his existence is "I don't know how else it could have come about"?

See what I have already said about prophecies.

Proven, eh? I'd love to have copies of peer-reviewed papers on the subject, if you don't mind.

I believe in God, I'm just not so sure about the whole Jesus Christ thing. Waiting for him to rise from the dead, in my opinion, is stupid.

Idk really. I guess it's because I was raised in a Christian family. I never really questioned my parents about our religion. Once I started paying attention in church though, some of the stuff sounded really dumb. I guess it's because I don't have a reason not to.

I pretty much agree with morbid, people like to believe god is with them spiritually, since no one has ever seen God, so I like to think God has done nothing for us and hence don't believe in him.

Agnosticism is the claim to not have knowledge; atheism is the claim to not have belief.

    Agnostic, yes. Atheist, yes.

You can say you're "on the fence", but you're always leaning one way or the other.

umm let me take one wild guess, the person who started this thread is an athiest? of course there's a god. half the stuff that we hear can't just be all made up. scientists didn't create us. pft big bang theory. none of us know. there for stop questions like this. your just assuming or predicting or your sources are shit. no one knows and thats the final answer. personally i think there is. because we werent just put here.... im christian anyway. believe what u want. if you have faith then believe, if u dont. go become a lab rat.

THREADS LIKE THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED !

its like asking what colour undies am i wearing?
you could guess... you could get it from unkown sources
but in the end no one knows because you've never seen me or the undies

Actually, if you bothered to read the OP you would see he is a Christian. But hey, facts are overrated right?
    Why do you think that?
Damn and all this time I thought they did! Thanks for the heads up.
You're right. Nobody knows. So why would you take a humongous leap and think some all powerful sky daddy made us all with a flick of his finger?
Oh and there is evidence to support the big bang theory, but none for a god.
I agree. One of the rules of this forum is that only intellectual discussion is allowed. Arguments for religion are anything but intelligent.
Uhh are you trying to disprove god there?

Personally, im a catholic so have been brought up to believe in God. I do think he exists and nothing anyone can say will change that. Think about the miracles that occurr in the world that modern science cannot explain.

Irrational. The entire point of a debate is to change minds. You enter a debate on the premise that you accept what you believe may be changed, therefore to enter a debate with an absolutely adamant belief rather than an open mind is simply irrational.

Personally, I'm open to have my beliefs changed, provided I am given substancial evidence.

Myself, and a good few of my friends, to start.

As for those who have been hurt, it's really not up to me to control their actions to stop them from being hurt. If they want to have risky sex, that's really not my concern.

It certainly seems to undermine the claim that God is the source of all morality.

Why did God kill them all? Surely an all-powerful being could defeat an army without killing every last person?

And what about the other situation, where God killed those men (and their wives and children) for questioning Moses? What about when he then killed 14,700 people for complaining?

Physical disciplining can work, but generally is not the best way to discipline children.

    Leviticus 20:9:

"For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him."

Most humans have an innate sense of right and wrong. This is attributable to our evolutionary past, where individuals without such codes of conduct would be kicked out of the group, and would presumably die.

If you had read it from cover to cover, I wouldn't have to point out examples of God's injustice to you.
