    Here is my opinion.

Animals can think and communcate with others of the same species, as can us.

Animals definitely have feelings and can think, it all depends on the animal to what degree they can think though.

They can think, but do not process information the same way, nor any where near the same level that we as humans do...

They have brains, so of course they think.

They have feelings, because they have pain.

^ Watch what you mean. Feelings (emotions) arent the same as physical feelings. Pain is felt because if nervous impulses sent to the brain. The brain then responds to what we know of as pain.
Animals do think, but do not reason. They dont hsve a soul of reason. Their lives are extremely simple.
I do believe that dogs dream. Wnenever my dog is sleeping her paws move. I think she dreams about running or something like that. Sometimes I wish my life was as simple as a dogS.

My dogs cry. Why else would they do so unless they had emotions? (They only do it when we are away) What does a soul have to do with anything?

Domesticated does not mean civilized. Planet of the apes is just some food for thought when you want to make the fine-line differences.
Dogs may have emotions of longing for their master, but I dont think they get depressed. They think, but cannot reason.

I saw a study conducted on dog's about their brains. If I remember correctly, they have very similar brains to humans however it works much differently.

Mammals do have brains. So they can feel fear, pain, etc.. If an antelope didn't feel Pain it would sit there while a lion chewed it's hind legs off. If It didn't feel fear it wouldn't sprint at the sight of a cheetah. If a dog didn't feel disgust, it wouldn't vomit. Ever heard of the saying, "sick as a dog"?

There are ways not to feel pain. If your nerves are damaged you cannot feel pain. Take wheelchair handicapped people for an example. Assuming that they are all in wheelchairs because they cannot walk for the reason that their nerves are damaged (not true; just accept as true for now). They cannot feel pain in their legs. Pain isn't an emotion, its a reaction. Brain sends the signal to the spot, it hurts. Simple.

Animals can clearly think if they can feel threatened.

    Aww, so you care? :)

Animals do have thoughts and feelings, that's how they show emotions and can comprehend what you say (my dogs start running around whenever I say "go outside").

Of course they do, animals obviously have a brain because it controls what they do.
