When someone double posts it just merges into his original one as an edit. This is what I would like to see

Yeah this is how it is done on the site in my sig.

When you make a post ( that should be a double post) it makes a line inbetween the origanal and second post but keeps them together, sort of like an edit.

this won't work as people won't be able to bump there threads you should change your suggestion so people can bump there thread after 24 hours or something like that.

    I agree with this.

If you make a post within' 12 hours of your last post, it will merge. If it is made 12 hours or after, it will be a new post and you wont be infracted for double posting.

    Fair enough?

You can always bump your threads by copying your post, deleting it reposting it. Not that hard, to prevent double posting.

I agree with this idea. I am sick of seeing Double or Triple bump posts.

Support. I think there are times that someone requires a second post in order to leave a prior post with a "time-date-stamp" in place. Updating a thread on a scam impacts the ability to show time-line events.

Yes it's in the rules, but people do it anyways. The OP's suggesting we add a mod to literally prevent any double posting within a set number of hours.

Nah, cus the market would be flooded with people trying to sell their accounts over and over again just because they can't bump thier old ones.

I Agreee with you CMG.... newbies are always "bumping" threads... and they dont ralize that noone cares about those threads

thats worst.. i prefer a double posts, and not a double thread.....
if a user cant bump his thread... he will just make another... and tthat sucks..

    IN MY OPINION:

we should have a bump button... so you can bump your thread every 12 hours(6,12,24 idont know) without posting.. just... press the button.. and your thread is the first one in the list ( 12 hours its good to prevent guys bumping theads every second)

A bump button would help dramatically, and stop double posts.

I don't think so, you couldn't really abuse it.
