Report A Scammer

Ok so I realise I havn't been on Sythe for long, but I have browsed the forums for a long time. The biggest problem I have noticed is the fact that threads in the 'Report A Scammer' section go un-noticed for months - which I believe is disgusting. When a report is made it should be replied to within 24 hours to minimise the chances of the accused scamming anybody else. If the proof isn't good enough then all you have to say is 'not enough proof...and specify what else is needed', if there is enough proof then = ban. How hard can that be? There is so many topics there going unread and it is so annoying to see that people who have scammed, and have more than enough proof against them to ban them, are not even being banned and are continuing to use Sythe and scam more and more users before they may possibly get banned months after they oriinally scammed. Now I'm not saying scamming is good, but isn't it alot better to have 1 member scammed than 10? All that is required is a little enthusiasm from mods. They could atleast pretend they care about Sythe's community and reply to a few threads, but still that isn't really good enough. Continuing like this...Sythe will very soon become mostly scammers, and they people who are here to trade legitimately won't be able to because they will get scammed if they trade. Sythe's community is rapidly getting worse IMO and it's all down to the fact that nobody cares about the scammers on this site!
It would be good if a mod or admin or whatever could atleast reply to this thread, and please if you do reply don't patronise me saying something like 'The Report A Scammer section is very well moderated' because it clearly isn't. This issue needs sorting or Sythe will just die.
Mods/Admins have worked hard for their positions but as soon as they get them they don't seem to care about Sythe. I seriously suggest demoting ALOT of the moderators on Sythe as they seriously do not deserve their rank.

 

*People wouldn't be scammed if they traded properly.

*After banning someone for scamming they can come back easily.

*The newer threads are usually done, its the ones from a long time ago that don't because its takes 5-10 minutes to do each scammer report.

*If everyone reported scammers properly things would be done faster.

I browse that forum very often and nothing gets said about 90% of the threads, also you can trade 'properly'...use an MM or whatever you want, but accounts are always recoverable so scammers can always scam. Also is it not possible to ban repeat scammers or something? And I see alot of people who reported 'properly' and they just get ignored.

 

Think of the report a scammer forum like more of a database. Before you trade with User X, do a background check on him; read over a few of his posts. See if he's posting genuinely or just attempting to raise post count.

Yes, people can always scam in account trades. Although if you don't buy from the leecher with five posts and go with R2P, you won't get scammed.

Moderators have literally been banning the same couple hundred scammers over the years. I'd guess it would get old.

 

What if the user your trading with has no previous scams? What if you cannot afford to purchase an account from R2P or he isn't selling 1 you want? Also is there no pissibility of just I.P banning scammers?

 

People find ways to get around this.

If the user your trading with has no previous scams, then they wouldn't be banned in the first place.

 

they could be panned for porno, etc.

 

I'm not saying that the user they are trading with would be banned already, I'm saying that a Sythe user could just randomly choose a day and begin scamming, and his first victim posts proof that is more than enough to get him banned. Then a week later nobody has done anything about the report and more people have been scammed...

 

If someone posts about this one more time I'm going to lose it. The problem is each report takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. By the time you have done that, there are 5 more reports to do. We just can't keep up.

 

Yes but wouldn't it just be a good idea to assign more mods to that section, surely it's worth giving up say an hour a day to go through 4 reports. If each mod did 4 reports a day it would help the community so much more.

 

TBH, I agree. About 1 and a half years ago, I reported a scammer and the scammer got banned in a matter of hours. I reported another scammer with full proof but nothing has happened at the moment.

I respect the mods on Sythe that have to take the time out of their lives to ban the scammers which, as said in the above posts, might come back easily. For the scammers that aren't so smart and won't know how to bypass the ban then it would be a great help to the Sythe community. That's why if more mods were assigned to that specific section then more reports will be done and more scammers gone.

 

1 and half years ago, we had 40k Members. We have 100k+ now.

 

What I'm thinking is that if you perm banned scammers, and if they came back I.P banned them that would solve alot of the problems. Most scammers are young children and will just move to another forum if they got perm banned, but if they did come back and they were I.P banned the chances are they would leave Sythe for good. Now I appreciate it takes you 10 - 15 minutes to assess each report accurately and make the correct decision, but if a few more mods were assigned into that section, and each mod did say 4 reports per day...the community on Sythe would get alot better, and there would be alot less scammers. It's just my opinion but I seriously believe that if Sythe continues the way it is going, it will never recover.

 

Again, people find ways to change their IP. It's because they come back, that you're better off with the section the way it is. You can't search a new user for scammer reports, because there probably won't be any, but their banned account will contain plenty of scammer reports. If you took the time to search, you'd find all the scammer reports.

 

Still, if you say the Report a Scammer section is better off the way it is then there might as well not even be a Report a Scammer section at all if only a few reports are done every week. Anyway, I still agree with AccountSalesForYou's idea of hiring more mods just for the Report a Scammer section. The scammers that get banned might not even come back and it would actually really help the blackmarket section of this forum because there would be less scammers.

 

I'm not saying scammers won't find a way around the bans, but honestly I believe that if they got perm banned, or I.P banned once or twice, they would leave for good

that was kind of abusing ur powers -.- but HAHAHAHA SHAME! ! he didnt know wat he was tlaking about via the ip ban etc.. way to prove a point dark =p
