The plan gives tax breaks... We will not be hit with our debt for another few years... I mean we are in the hole 11trillion... We will have to pay it back sometime, but the US seems to think that it can spend all it wants... But we need this plan or another plan to help the economy... If we do nothing it will just get worse... :/

The national debt clock is in New York if I'm not mistaken? So I'm pretty sure it's very public , just to show the citizens how much debt the government is racking up at their expense, and they can't do anything about it.

Don't feel bad, Australia will soon follow in your steps. We had a liberal government (John Howard - Prime Minister), but then a bunch of idiots voted for a slogan "Kevin 07" who is the leader of the Labour party, so now Kevin Rudd is the Prime Minister.

Bit of Australian History:
John Howard cleared Australia of a $96billion debt left by the previous Labor Government & keeping unemployment to 4%. He reformed the tax system for the good of the Nation. At the end of his Government he left the Australian Budget with a surplus of $20bill.

Now in 2009, Kevin Rudd (Labor Government) has announced that Australian's would receive payments to help "boost the economic". He used more than half the surplus in a matter of weeks. Now he intends to give all the low and middle class works another pay out, costing Australian's $42billion.

The Budget forecast for the next four years; is we will go into a "temporary deficient" of $118Billion while unemployment will rise to 7-8%.

Labor is not commenting on when the "temporary deficient" will be paid, but like the last labor government they left us in a $96Billion debt, that the liberal government had to clean up.
