A random combination of letters and numbers that exceed 8 characters, preferably with at least 1 capital letter should be safe. Most of website have captcha and lock the account after 3-5 successful attempts.Even if the one who's trying to bruteforce your password is using a captcha killer and a big list of proxies which would allow him to bypass these two security measures it will take a very long time to try all possible combination for a such password no matter what internet connection he may have.If you also add a special character to your password it's almost impossible to have your account cracked. The only problem with special characters ( hold Alt and type number ; Eg: Alt 0134 ) is that most of websites won't allow you to use a such special character in your password.

Rofl, how big your password is wont keep it safe. about 1% of the time you get hacked because someone guess's your password. You get keylogged it doesn't matter what your password is, the other 99% is keylogging btw if you didn't guess.
