Will Absolute 0 Ever Be Achieved ?

0k degrees, so far impossible. My ap college textbook says it is impossible due to multiple reasons, that if listed, would take up too much of my time.
So, will 0 K ever be reached?(remember. 0C = 273K | C + 273 = K)

 

Not on a measurable scale with evidence, though I believe we can get so close that distinguishing the difference would be hard.

There have been attempts, and I'm sure they have come extremely close, but I think its a problem in measurement. 0 is an impossible number to reach (I can't even comprehend it)
But they could definitely distinguish how close they got.

At absolute zero, nothing moves.

however, Heisenbergs Uncertainty Principle states it is impossible to get an accurate location of an electron because when a light fragmenhts the e-, it will move. Does that mean 0K will stop light?

 

No, Heisenberg states that you cannot have both accurate velocity AND location at the same time.

Regardless, if time stops, I would assume that light would as well.

momentum. If a light fragment hits an electron, you get a new velocity. It is impossible to get a reading of both location and velocity.

We're getting EXTREMELY close.

Of course, it would be absolutely impossible to remove ALL the internal energy from an object, but I think we can get close enough that we can just treat it AS IF it were absolute 0.

 

Exactly. And the obvious reason is:

At 0K, it's EXACTLY 0, meaning there is no lower. (Or is there? *X-Files tune*o.0)

Problem is to COOL something down, you either need something COOLER next to it, which with 0 will be imposible, concidering you'll have to have something -0 zero.

OR you use the current method, rapidly expanding/compressing whatever chemical they use. In order to rip the atoms apart. (Individually, not the actual atom lol)

This means Temperature will always decline by %, not by absolute amount.

Either way, absoulte 0 can never be achieved. We can keep getting closer and closer indefinatly tough. As technology increases, and we find more effective ways of getting lower temperatures.

If you want absolute 0 tough, your best bet is Alternate Dimensions and Black Holes. (Strange things happen thar I hurd)

 

Yes, As stated in newtons third law that matter can not be pushed or pulled all we have to do is add a simple equation 32 * 0 and add it to the speed of lifhg to slow down it .

There will be black hoes and alternate dimensons but it will be worth it

There is no way to tell if there is something lower than that.
hell, 0K is just a theory in itself

It's impossible. It's been proven. I think the closest they have gotten is (correct me if I am wrong) 3 billionths of a Kelvin away from absolute zero.

 

Yea, they have gotten really close.... I do not think they will ever do it, but saying something is impossible is a bit of a stretch... :/

 

You wouldn't be able to measure it, but you could prove it though mathematics, if you could achieve it. but from my understanding no matter could be touching it, and no energy could be there. so even the energy produced by the atom would keep it from reaching absolute zero.

No, it will not. Absolute zero is impossible to obtain because there will always be movement.

 

I really doubt i could be reached all matter has some type of energy and with even a 0.000000001 point amount of energy it still has it which causes heat but if you get into dark matter than a whole different story

 

Dark matter would still have energy.
