Botting 101: A Beginner's Guide to Botting

This is the exact guide I've posted on RSBot.org, but since the forums are down 95% of the time, I thought it'd be better used here. Enjoy!

1.0 How to Get RSBot

First, you need WINRAR. It's just much easier to do this first. If you already have it installed, great, if you don't, you can get it here:

When installing WINRAR, keep all of the recommended settings.

Then, you'll need to download the latest version of RSBot, here:
http://www.rsbot.org/download/ (site is down entirely, atm)

Open it, from wherever you downloaded it to, and it should look somewhat like this:


Now, extract it. I like to extract it to my documents, but that's just me. You can do it just about anywhere.

Click 'Extract To' > Wherever, (in my case, my documents) > 'OK'



Now it's dowloaded. Congrats.

To run, just click on your appropriate 'Members' or 'Non Members' link in your documents.


2.0 How to Add Scripts

You can find new scripts here, on the RSBot forums.

Now, just copy the code from the script you want, and paste it into notepad. (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad)

Now, when you save your script, save it as whatever comes after public class, and add a .java on the end. Make sure you save it in the right place. In this case 'TenacWillowChopper.java' The public class should be right by the top.



After saving it, you'll need to compile the new script(s). To do this, go to wherever you download RSBot, (in my case, my documents), and click 'Compile'.

If you get an error, you probably need to install tools.jar, and move it into your RSBot folder (my documents). You can install tools.jar here:

Download, extract, Compile.





Now you new scripts should be ready and waiting.


3.0 The 10 Most Basic, Important Rules to Remember When Botting:

Rule #1: Never bot on your main. This is what bots are for. You can make several skill mules you can autotrain and transfer cash from. More info on how you can transfer cash later on.

Rule #2: Never bot on quickchat worlds! They're loaded with bot hunters who are just itching to report, glitch, and ban cheaters like you.

Rule #3: Train up your botting accounts' combat, too. You want them to look like the average low level player. Buying some low level gear for them might also help.

Rule #4: Never bot overnight! This can lead to big problems. Try 3-5 hours everyday for best results. 85% of my botters were banned after skipping a few days. Skipping a few days would hint that you're botting, so remember to train everyday.

Rule #5: Sell all botted items above mid! They will sell. Don't feel like you have to sell them instantly. Selling below mid hurts everyone else in the community. Selling at max is even better.

Rule #6: Keep monitoring your accounts! Sometimes you will get stuck in an unsolvable random, and the bot will automatically log out. Other times, the script might glitch and go somewhere you don't want it to go. After it does that, it just sits there occasionally logging out and back in.

Rule #7: Pausing your script for a trip or two and doing it manually will greatly reduce your chance of a ban. To do this, click 'pause' in the upper right, click 'User Imput' so there's a green light, and do a trip. After that, just click 'resume' and your script will pick up where it stopped.

Rule #8: Mix it up! If you have a bot with only one high level, and the rest 1's, train! To Jagex, people with one high skill stick out like a sore thumb. Take a few minutes to cut some normal logs, and train firemaking alittle. Kill a few chickens and attempt to cook them. All the little things add up in the end.

Rule #9: Never bot with similar usernames on the same world. People will pick up on this, and if a p-mod notices, you're banned.

Rule #10: Make all of your mule account names believable. Don't make accounts like 1285550, ngn5512, exc. Make them names that new players would likely make.


4.0 Extra Tips:
- Make some best of your mules members. Easier to make money, transfer cash, and they only get 1.5 blackmarks for each botting offence; while free players get an instant 10/10 ban.
- Switch worlds occasionally. It has also been shown to reduce ban rates. An easy time to switch is during one of the breaks from the breakhandler.
- If you are botting while AFK, but still near your computer, turn on the RS music, so when you get a random that the bot can't solve the music will loop, freeze, and keep playing the part that it's at. (kind of like a scratched cd)
- When you get a new script, always babysit for the first 30 mins, to make sure it's working alright.
- Don't use Beta scripts on an account you care about.
- Starting a conversation with other people in the botting place can lower your chance being reported.

i say bot on main its only 10 day ban if you get caught. lvl 3 get instant perm.

Nice guide. I can't think of anything wrong with it. Maybe add a little more colour differential? 1 paragraph is blue, another red, etc.

 

Yeah not bad, hope rsbot.org forums up properly soon. There also is a script which will log you out and change worlds every X and Y minutes. This script would be great if you do not run break handlers (which I personally dont). And always remember to have public chat of and accept aid.

Public chat: so if someone asks if you are a bot and you not there when you appeal you can say you had public of.

Accept aid: as there is a small anti bot clan which (apparently) will try telling you and shit and will stuff you up

Actually, if you bot on your main it's less likely that you would get banned. Anyways, great guide.

 

I disagree. As the one with a lvl 131 main, it's alot better to bot on other skiller accs then transfer. I was almost perm banned from botting on my main. You get money faster and less risk of a ban.

Thanks for the 10 rules for botting, helped me the most. I am an experienced botter. I just never realized not to bot my twins in the same world, doing the same thing, at the same time. Thanks.

I suggest botting with a random schedule. Life happens, Jagex can't ban you because you played 8 hours one day and 3 hours the next. You also shouldn't have to bot everyday, I'd imagine Jagex assumes that people have other things to do, taking a 1-2 day break really doesn't hurt much. If you are at your computer it also would help if you chat around a little with the other players.

 

Basically what it comes down to; If you don't get reported, you won't get banned. Do everything you can to play it off as if you are training yourself. Mostly if you just communicate with people as you are botting you won't be reported.

 

I just can't seem to compile the scripts, I downloaded the tools.jar and I have JDK but still can't compile the scripts

 

I'm new to the botting bandwagon if you will and I've looked at ways to transfer money but are there anyways to transer from a lvl 44 f2p to a lvl 120+ p2p?
