If an STD ever gets labeled 'Invictus', we're all in a lot of trouble.

Invictus = Latin for unconquerable, synonymous with immortality.

 

So why use an Egyptian symbol? Wouldn't something Latin be better in the avatar?

To me, the Ankh is the most appealing symbol of immortality. I see no reason to go with an all-latin theme.
