New way to trade accounts.

I know something like that you can find is on RealPoor site, and its alot easier to do the sales there. I hope Sythe will work out something with this idea

so you want a database of acccounts. but then how old does it have to be to be deleted ?
the combat would also have to combat without summoning and with summoning. unless f2p then it'd ignore that.

you'd also need a flag button. incase some accounts have been sold more then once, or attempted scams, or been used to scam before. so buyers can see how many people have flagged it. (also be able to view reason for flag.) i think itd be way to big and complicated

 

Good basic idea, but as hemeny said, needs a lot of work to be useful. Also I think it's fun to just browse account section and find a nice account you want to buy, not just to come with something in mind.

I totally agree with hemeny that this is a hard thing to make but i have started it now all you support me and with the help of a mysql database and a lot of good scripting it isn't so hard to make it.

Indeed also it should be split in combat with and without summoning but i put a piece in my script that calculates the combat with summoning (makes it look like 100+8 just like in bh) so people just need to fill in the non-summoning combat.

For what you said about selling accounts several times will indeed be flagged unless sold by different users with more then 50 post count.

TangoAplle you said that you jsut gotta be active but the huge problem with sythe account selling is that by the time you looked thru a page that page is bumped away and if you like an account and want to look it up l8er there is no way you're gonna find it again.

Last but not least could some mods post there thoughts on this on how i can improve it to make it a gr8 new part of sythe.

if anyone wants to look into the code i made till now post it here and i will send it to you in a pm it's open source for now (untill it's gets accepted so nobody get's acces to the database except the mods).

Could an mod or admin please put a poll in this thread with just if people like this idea yes or no i want to know what people in general think about this and loads of people don't post.

This does actually sound great. It would be a lot easier to find account's for sale then. Matthew could probably make it, would just a bit of time.

What are you making it with? And if it did get accepted, he would probably just make it based on what he wants :S

im making it with php/mysql/css/xhtml actually just basic text web programming and i know he is changing it but since the mods are as busy as they are i am willing to write it with all request features so he only has to check.

I have written this first version and it works on my own webrowser aldue i still gotta go to w3.org to check if it's 100% xhtml.

A much easier system to code, and a far better system in general would be this:

Instead if searching for certain skills you want, categorize all accounts by a certain specific that it has.

I find that when I go to sell accounts I have, people don't say: I want an account with 47 wc, 67 str, 99 fletch, etc. (You get the idea)

They say this: I want a zerker pure.

Or maybe: I want an obby pure.


Once again, you get the idea.


Here are some suggestions for names of categories:

~*Pures
-zerkers
-obby maulers
-hybrids
-range tanker
-mage pure
-initiate pure
-tanker
-attack pure
-etc.

~*Skillers/MoneyMakers
-rune miner (etc)
-runecrafter
-woodcutter
-farmer
-etc (basically all skills)

~*Mains
-one 99 stat or less
-two 99 stats
-three 99 stats or more


There are probably some more categories I am forgetting. This should be the basic setup of it.

*NOTE:: You will be able to tick off more than one option for your account.
-1 option from the pure or main category
-3 options from the skiller/moneymaker category

Also this could be expanded upon to include cash on the account, whether it has a firecape, a rune defender, how rare the name is, etc.
