That information does not belong to the "hacker."

The IP address you looked up is most likely no longer in use. (Or at least, at the time you looked it up.)

If you do a whois on any bogus or unallocated IP address, you will get the same information.

Regardless, even if you had looked up a valid IP address, a whois would not be sufficient information to get anything done. A whois on an IP address is not at all entirely revealing, and will only give a generalization of where they live (and an exact location of their ISP.) Those "geolocators" or whatever, are useless in your case as well, as they too are a generalization, and will not be able to help you track the "hacker" down.

    1. Completely irrelevant. That is not a domain he did a whois on.
    2. No one does that. (Assuming what is being used to purchase the domain is clean money.)
    3. Using fake information is against the ToS of the ICANN, and gives them the ability to legally take your domain away. That is why most registrars charge extra for private-whois.

Copied/pasted the info into a complaint to the "Abuse@" email.

    Should do something. :)

    1. Ahh, yes. I was pretty tired when I wrote that, and wasn't paying attention. At first glance it looks like a domain query.

2-3. Apologies. When I said "use a proxy to register"; I meant a "private-whois". Part of the reason for the mix up is that I use a "private-whois" company called Domains by Proxy.
