Should Physical Education be a mandatory course throughout highschool?

Physical Education keeps students healthy and active.
I've taken it every year throughout highschool, I'm a junior, and I'll be taking it next year as well, even though it is only mandatory to take one course.
What do you think about having it mandatory for all students to take it throughout highschool?

Its just a time where me and my friends get to hang around and play sports. I wouldnt even class it lesson, you dont learn anything?

Yes, its proberly the only exercise them obest kids do.

Nah I don't think it should be mandatory. I mean, either way you will have people who care about their bodies and want to stay in shape and look good, and you'll also have people who don't care enough.

 

No, because why should i be forced to take part in something I don't like?

 

It's a good thing as it keeps you healthy and informs you about eating correctly and working out, if there was two types of classes, one where there's more physical activities and one where you learn more about health, could give more choices.

 

i think its good as it gets council estate scum moveing . for example alot people dont do it and it gives them a run around and gets them active.

 

im just saying that i am entitle to my opinion . and yes these are people who don't work and live off the dough and take what our country and the tax payers earn so in that case yes i am .you are aloud to have your opinion about being homosexual so i am having mine . there's nothing wrong with it if they want to do it but i am just having my say . so please respect my point of veiw and agree to disagree.

 

Actually it already is mandatory (for four years) over here in Illinois.

It's a waste. It does not keep us Healthy, sports do not Gym. All I do is sit down and talk because we are doing pointless activities that are boring and unhelpful in anyway.

It should be optional.

Note - My school all you haft to do is change one pieces of clothing every day and you get a 100.

 

well maybe its to do with team building activitys and that sorta stuff thats all i use to do now i do physicall prep for the army.

 

Well I dont think so, as children are going to be out of shape if they take gym or not, because in the long run 1 period of class for a few years is not going to keep a child healthy.

I believe health class should be mandatory compared to gym as health is much more educational than gym class, but no class in the world can change your choices out of school.

Physical education shouldn't be required as it's up to the individual to remain healthy. We don't need society attempting to press it on us.

Not to mention the majority of societies' jobs do not require physical labor. An unhealthy, corpulent person could easily become more successful than a fit one.

 

Yeah. I enjoy gym.
I can't sit in a classroom all day, I like to go
and get some air and play some Basket Ball.
Gym is an easy A aswell.

 

Even more these days as more and more kids would rather sit on a computer than do physical activity. Exercise is also extremely important for mood, confidence and also being physically tired at the end of the day means a much more quality sleep.

 

I think that it is good, but shouldn't be mandatory cause of all of the fat kids getting laughed at. Lolz.
