What is your biggest fear?

Fearing the Unknown.

 

I have to say I'm really proud of how far this thread has gotten, and appreciate everyone sharing what gets the best of them. Being vulnerable at any time sucks. But we all find coping mechanisms that work for us. Whether that be avoiding things, running like a bat out of hell, being constantly stressed or any other little thing to put your mind at ease. Really hope this keeps going, and for those who say they are afraid you won't be able to provide, just do your best and be there for the people who need you. Even if you can't give them everything, you can give them enough. Fear of the unknown, just avoid the topics. Wondering what the mods on here fear? "Resolved", "Not a match", "Please read the stickies". Haha, hope everyone is doing okay with corona and all though. If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to pm me or dm me on discord

 

i am use lsd every few months to just reflect and lookinward helps me rebalance my life and make sure i'm going in the right direction my biggest fear is either staying stuck in a trip/losing my mind to point of no return getting stuck in my thoughts ending up on a rocking chair in my mothers basement.

 

I don't personally do drugs, smoke, or drink but i can understand people using them as a coping mechanism to calm down stress or for recreation, if you don't want to get stuck in your thoughts you have to learn to be present in your mind more. Realize what's going on and then repeat the process of seeing what is going on and what you are doing.

 

BECOME PRESENT because theres nothing before and nothing after only now i understand

Actual fear is snakes, can't stand them more than Indiana Jones can't.

Having no meaningful relationships at end of my years

 

I think in the back of my head this is probably a fear of mine, but I think I'm slowly working on a way to separate from that sorta toxic mindset and be happier with myself, still hard though so I definitely get that.

 

Not to get too off topic on this thread, but one of the best ways I deal with this is (in my case being a real estate investor and having numerous tenants) is by not opening up too much about my personal life to others. I would rather have 2 meaningful relationships than 100 non-meaningful relationships. I am no longer hoping for or seeking meaningful relationships because people will come and go as they please. It's the ones that stay when they know you have nothing more than friendship to offer in return that are special.

 

Oh trust me I'm the same as you. I have few friends but the ones I have are good ones. And it's fine to talk about topics inside of the thread.

 

My biggest fear is death, I try not to think about it and most of the time I dont but it frightens me because out of everything I could be afraid of its unavoidable

 

Bankruptcy

 

How do you plan to avoid it then? My dad filed bankruptcy when i was younger and it isn't a good process...

 

What happens when you file Bankruptcy

 

You basically forfeit the majority of your assets and start from nothing. Your debt is quashed, but you have the bankruptcy on your credit for 7 or 10 years I don't remember, which makes it harder to get loans, housing etc. This is in the USA at least. It isn't good and people are running into trouble now w corona so ya.

To add, student loan debt isn't quashed I believe.
