Can the Speed of light be broken?

Black hole theory seems to be the best. Realistically, we can't break the speed of light by ourselves. But to utilize the gravitational forces of a black hole, combine it into rotational energy, and then provide EXTRA energy while using the rotational energy of the Black Hole, ESPECIALLY when light is ALREADY being manipulated by the gravity....I say yeah, we can break it.

Justify your conclusion that you would die in a matter of seconds.

You wouldn't die. Fourth dimension. Everybody sees you die. You feel fine though.

    Quantum physics is screwy.

I know you wouldn't die. I just want to give him a chance to explain himself.

    it can.

186,000 miles a second... yes. the key is energy.

energy keeps us alive. its everywhere. freezing somthing takes away energy, so it keeps it still. with no energy the object stops. with alot of energy, it moves. with to much energy ... ?

Yes, according to theoretical science we can break the speed of light, but as of now we are not able to utilize the massive amounts of energy needed. Using the string theory it is a possibility that you may travel through that string into another dimension where the next string that joins the area you wish to go to is only a few meters away. So in theory if a ray of light and a ship started from one point and headed towards the same finish point, and the ship were to skip a reality into another and then skip back father ahead, technically speaking the ship would get there first. Meaning that the ship has traveled faster than the light. It was also Einstein that said the quickest way from point a to b is not a straight line but to bend the space fabric and make the trip shorter.

What theoretical science? I thought you didn't know what string theory was?

I'm sorry, i don't recall talking to a person named a86753 about string theory.
Any way in theory it would be possible when we have the technology to acquire and hold/use the massive amounts of atomic energy needed to transfer a ship through, what science fiction writers call "Hyper Space".

We are talking science not science fiction

I understand i am using a reference to the more common name of what i am referring to. If it must be in science then so hence that it is called multidimensional travel.

First off, I said probably. I didnt say that you would.
And second, how am I going to justify it? I cant, since I can't break the speed of light.

Can the Speed of light be broken?

You need to justify why you believe that. There has to be reason behind it.

Just because you said probably it doesn't mean you have the right to sya that you are right. Justification is needed even for probabilities.

Time would progress slowly for everybody in the solar system, from what I know

Can the Speed of light be broken?

Do you know how much light that would be needed to complete that process?

Time would slow down for the person traveling at the speed of light. Although you wouldn't notice it.

Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall isn't it?

Can you please justify your reason for NOT believing it it?

I believe that you will die because you are traveling back in time, and I very much doubt that our body's can sustain that for more than a few seconds.
