I'm sorry, you're an utter idiot. The only way to do what you suggest is to have us permanently sitting in the Report a Scammer forum, spending our entire lives there.

Scammers join every minute, scammers are banned every minute. It's a never ending cycle. The Moderators are not to be blamed for the idiocy of others.

 

I see what you're saying but what makes me an idiot for saying you should check the report a scammer section once in a while?

In my opinion it's part of *moderating* the forums.

If you cared about the forums, something would be done to help stop the problem. It's like teen pregnancy. If you hand out condoms, they're less likely to go out and get pregnant.

If something some sort of graphic is embedded within the forums that says "Use a Trusted Middle Man, Never go First" you'd see a huge decrease in scams occurring.

When you have a global mod come on ventrillo and laugh because you say it would be nice if something was done, you know parts of the system are corrupt and you don't truly care about the forums enough.

The point is something needs to be done and it would be nice if mods, admins, or globals made the attempt to make trading at sythe safer.

 

Sorry for following this idiot into going way off topic.

Then all you would see is massive amounts of posts of people saying
"u go ferst"
"no u"
"i dubn go furst read the pics"
"i wont go ferst, you pay mm"
"I wont pay mm"
"I dun trust you!
\"-reprot scammer section, AWAY!-


It's a noob psychology thing.
If they see someone refusing to go first, they automatically think "scammer" instead of thinking "careful", and if you've read report a scammer section, a LOT of them have no proof anyways, but this way, EVEN more with no proof because nos cam would be posted.


SLIGHTLY MORE ON TOPIC: Also, a stricter policy on trades might help, but also might slow down trades further if they become more of a hassle than a help.

Seen it happen, but then when they re-lower restrictions, people start going back into "Everyone here with less than 1000 posts and 10 vouches is a scammer", and nothing changed except now people are MORE likely to think every poster is a scammer.

How is saying embed the rule instead of stickying it off topic?
