Somewhat related question.. Is it against Sythe rules to do things such as, give somebody rsgp say, on december 1st 2012.. Ask for them to repay 10x as much december 22nd 2012? Therefor making money off people who actually believe in this nonsense?

Well.. That's up to you but, this is bothering me. I'm pretty sure you mean a Plague, although it's bad for your teeth, Plaque hardly ever results in the death of an entire planet.

    Another Discovery chanel theory...
"There is a planet in another solar system, or something. Every 1000 years it gets close enough to the earth to make it hotter, (it's hotter than the sun). And it just so happens 2012 is the next year the planet will be close enough. But, they think it will only melt a bit of the polar ice caps."

Shouldn't bother you, there is no hard evidence that it's actually going to happen

That's not the end of the world. That theory is now officially declared null and void.

There is no real concrete proof that it well happen, mostly just coincidental evidence.

    They got lazy, lol

but people have been saying the world is going to end for hundreds of years,
for one example y2k people thought it was going to cause hundreds of nuclear devices to go off, nothing happened.

The people who come up with this stuff have nothing better to do with their time and want some attention cause they dont get any serving hamburgers :\

Don't bother asking. The only reason people started this illogical rumor is because the Mayan calender ends in 2012. People also think that because 9/11 and other similar diasters were predicted (Nostradamus, etc) that this can be predicted as well. But many things were predicted and didn't occur (i.e. The world ending in 2000), so what makes this time any different? Famous figures or whole groups of people will guess at horrible things until they get one right, and then people act as if the demise of the planet Earth can be guessed. Ridiculous.

Apparently, thats what was predicted in 2k0 (i think thats what it is called) All technology was suppose to 'turn on humans' on new years day of the year 2000, and we were pretty much suppose to be owned by our computers (l0l!) It didn't happen though.

What I learned about 2012 in history is that it is just a theory, when it is actually when the ancient mayans (aztecs? not sure its been a whileo_O ) calendar ended. I always couldn't figure out why somebody would end a calendar on that day though.

Yeah sure, people will say the world will end in 2012, then when it passes they'll find another date to worry about...

Exactly. Just like they did in the 90's when they worried about Y2K.

I have heard that the end of the world is then and then and then. Everyone says different and it comes new dates every year, so its probably bullshit :)

Until the sun explodez, the earth will survive.

Everybody predicted that the world will end lots of times, and yet we survive.

Actually, the end of a Mayan Cycle was something to be celebrated and praised, not feared that the world will end.
