93 year old man froze to death

So this morning on the radio I heard this crazy story. Some guy owed his electric company over $1,000, so they installed an electricity limitor in his house. Until he payed off his debt to them, he could only use a certain amount of electricity. If he used too much, the fuse would short out, and he would have to reset it and wait awhile to use more elctricity. But apparently, no-one told this guy how to reset it... So he ends up freezing to death because he had no electricity. He was 93 years old. Isn't that crazy? Although I don't see why a 93 year old man should be living alone... but still.

    Discuss.

HAHAH! Clearly that old man is retarded if he can freeze to death in his house. He should have just gone somewhere else the fool.

Right, because a 93 year old man, living alone with no one to help him, is going to pick himself up and go somewhere else.
Think before you say something so stupid.

I feel for this man, and the bastards should pay.

Not debating this. But if the man wasn't competent enough to figure out how to reset his heating, I would assume that he wouldn't be able too.
The fact is, someone should have been with him, an aide, someone...

If he froze to death inside, how cold do you think it was outside? 93 year olds could barely walk, added with the cold, its much much harder.

Lol, if all the cared about was his money, why would it say that they gave him a low limit to live off of? They provided the minimum, which they did for free which helped him anyways, just probably poor choices he made with his electricity. I'm not trying to sound cruel, I do think that's terrible, but I don't believe that it's all the electric companys fault about money.

Pretty sad story... The electric company should have told him how to restart it. I bet his family can/will sue if he had one.

Its funny how most people on Sythe are inconsiderate of others but when it happens to them its a whole different story.

It's a business, they aren't supposed to care about him, they're supposed to care about their profit margin - they had already gone above and beyond by providing him free electricity until he paid off his current bill, it's his own fault. How could you expect the company to have known that he would have frozen to death because of their electricity? I'm sure if they had of known they would have sorted the issue out first.

    Agreed.

From a business perspective, a company simply cannot give out freebies. Age is irrelevant.
