You probably set your age as under thirteen, Jagex now automatically mutes your account instead of saying you can't play. It will lift on your account's "thirteenth birthday".

I had this happen to me before a long time ago. I just made a new account when I couldn't get it to work.

Maybe bitch to Jagex about it and see if you can get some free membership for ruining your game play experience.

Doubt it, their customer service is like a 11 year old grey cat that is old and losing its hair. It hisses at you even when you're being nice.
