    Abortion

    Fufu~

On the contrary, I live for myself. What reason is there to live for other people?

Also, so I'm not straying too far from the topic of abortion, A sperm cell is what you would call a 'building block' of a fetus, so is an egg cell. An embryo = sperm + egg, nothing has changed except they have come together and started to grow. Why is it so wrong to abort something like this?

From what you are saying you are nothing but a very advanced sperm + egg.

    Thats what everyone is.

You are your dads sperm, and your moms egg....nothing more, nothing left.

I believe abortion is fine, but if you believe the fetus is a human, then it should be wrong. The fetus grows human qualities within the first month.

Exactally. That is why an embryo is no different that a human being.

And to shredder. If pain is the factor... Then shouldnt numbing people then killing them be legal?

    I don't see the logic.

There are two factors: Pain, and violating a sentient being's wishes.

I did, but by that logic, I could argue that you are essentially just a group of atoms, and therefore not worthy of moral consideration.

Anyway, my main point was that an individual's main isn't the only thing that matters.

So what, you want us to just voice our opinions? ^^
Ok, personally, I don't think it's right to kill humans of any brain capacity - due in part to my religious beliefs. I see how a child from a rape could cause issues, but then why can't we kill anybody who's a painful reminder of the past? Because they can't feel pain? I don't think being shot in the head causes much pain either...
As to the animal fetus suggestion - that's why I'm a vegetarian (it's a start, anyway).
To the breathing bit - So anybody on artificial respiration is considered dead to you?
I'm sure there are many more ways to argue that killing a baby is in someway rectified (I've only read a few pages of the thread myself), and logical counter-arguments to all of them.
But anyway, that's my two cents ^^.

In the olden days, even if someone had done witchcraft (which was immediate death) and plead to be pregnant, they would hold onto the death sentence till the person has the baby.

I honestly think if you don't want a kid, use birth control but sometimes, it really isn't the time for a kid. I knew someone who promised the girl he'd stay with her, with the kid, marry her, etc. and then when she had the kid, he left her and dated another girl (he's 16...), and someone else who was a great photographer who would've made it big but had an accidental kid and now is eating cookies for lunch and dinner because he has no money and his job doesn't pay enough (yes, he's on life support, etc.). Sometimes it's just gotta go but no I don't think it's morally right. It's not that hard for women to eat a pill every morning and stop when they want a kid, and if a guy who doesn't know the girl to just wear a condom.

Eh, never mind, it was going off on too much of a tangent.

    It's both, in certain ways.
I just wrote an editorial on why it's right and, or wrong.
My oppinion is, if you're stupid and get a girl pregnant when you're both underage, than you should deal with the consequences.
But, if you're raped and you have some freaky baby growing in you, that's cause for an abortion. But that's on my oppinion

Mainly because everyone knows the consequences of having unprotected sex. If someone (who is underage) is "smart" enough to get pregnant, than they should have to deal with what they have done. Best option, have the baby, put it up for addoption

Why should they have to deal with it? Why not just have an abortion?

Well, not to get pregnant until ready?
But now that I think of it, it could be dangerous for a teenager to give birth.
Which could end up killing the mother, and the baby.
Which is pretty much taking one step forward, than two steps back.

Well by forcing that lesson to be taught, you are presuming that getting pregnant when one is not ready is an immoral thing.

Also, it is generally healthy for teenagers to give birth as long as they're 15-16+.
