[Denied]Advertising Rank

Now before, we instantly start talking about Sythe is a free market, I know this will definitely change how we define Sythe as a free market, but this could be worth looking into

I'm taking this suggestion directly from how I've seen other markets operate for years, if you go to any other marketplace you're not allowed to advertise your website or discord unless you buy a sponsor or advertising rank. Why don't we implement the same thing for Sythe? It'd definitely bring some nice income to Sythe plus help eliminate the amount of spam in some trading sections. If anyone has ever taken a gander at service request threads, it's nearly always filled with "Join my discord server", to the point that multiple requests come in with "DON'T TELL ME TO JOIN YOUR SERVER".

At the end of day this will be considered a free market still, since you'll still be able to advertise your business, just not a discord server or website prevalent to it

My suggestion:
Advertising rank for $12 monthly, $100 yearly

OR

Added perks to donor rank at whatever level deemed worthy ($200 maybe)

Perks:
Advertise website in threads
Advertise discords in threads

Potential:
Maybe reevaluate trading platforms eligibility to advertise

 

Not a bad idea. I think ultimately though this is up to the admins and Richard.

 

I'm fairly sure you have to leave a quote in those posts as well per the rules.

No support, the suggestion would almost force users to pay money to compete. Sounds like a bad idea for site growth.

 

Yeah that is a rule, but you still have users posting basic quotes and asking to further discuss in discord servers, etc. Also it's not like they wouldn't be able to post their Discords to do normal trading, it's just to give an edge to post your own server or website.

 

I'm not sure making money by putting more market restrictions is a good idea. This would probably do more harm in lost traffic, than good in collected money.

 

This is one of the reasons why I didn't operate anymore on another RS market, no support
