How do you believe Life on Earth started?

I don't necessarily "believe" in abiogenesis, I merely think that it is a good hypothesis. It is simpler than an intelligent designer creating life, and experiments seem to show that it is possible.

 

Then what do you believe is the most probable to being the truth?

 

Abiogenesis.

 

Then why do you believe it to be the most probable to truth? I doubt you accept this, because its simplicity and it is merely possible?

 

I think that it is the most likely explanation because of its simplicity (presumably only a few molecules would need to be able to replicate to begin the whole process). Currently, abiogenesis is more of a hypothesis than a theory, though evidence to support it is in principle possible.

 

I believe in Abiogenesis, as I'm also an Atheist, I believe that someone couldn't have just poofed the earth into existence and the human race and every living thing along with it.

 

We cant really know for sure if it was science, God, or other stuff because no1 can really back this up

 

Wow. Damnit. I'm pissed. I had just typed up a HUGE hypothesis, and I highlighted it all, and pressed backspace by accident.

Heres my theory:

These Chemical Reactions created the mighty god, and he created us. I mean, seriously, think people! What if both theories are correct? What about BEFORE the one book of truth? Why couldn't God be created by the chemical reactions, then he discovered a way to create other beings? It could have little difference than us cloning things! This is a great idea, if I can say so myself. I'm ready to argue for it, also.

 

We were created as an experiment which will terminate in 2012. Mayans found out and look what happened to them, they got wiped out but they made their calander to warn us.

 

I think god, or that in the water, there started a virus that became a animal... I dk man, that's just a shot

 

As a catholic i've bin brought up to believe God created life. Nothing anyone can say will change my view and i stick with it.

 

You should have an open mind, but the way I look at it is that since there was a point where the universe did not exist, there has to be a cause to the beginning and I assume that cause has to be intelligent, and I find that it's the Christian God; but that's what I believe.

 

I believe God started life, but also with a connection to the Scientific theories.

In my religious side, God created the universe and probably the first organism which are the unicellular organism.

And here starts my Scientific side, life then evolves.

I personally believe God exists, I am however agnostic. I believe God exists, hope God exists, but at the same time I acknowledge that I do not know the fate of your soul after life has ended. Therefore living my life to a point where I don't base every action of my being to pleasing an all powerful being, but at the same time don't go around burning churches and leading a life of unforgivable sin.

 

That's nice, but this topic is about how you think life came into existence.

 

If humans or reality had to be created by some omnipotent being, wouldn't that mean that this being, too, would be too complex to be naturally occurring?
