What type of laptop should I get...

Well I want a laptop for gr 11 next year, but I have no idea where to even start

It will be used for mainly school work so browsing the internet and microsoft office stuff

I probably wont be playing runescape or other games on it, except maybe when I need to xfer or multi something

I want a slim and one that looks pretty cool

I can spend up to 3000$ if i have to

and I do NOT want a mac.

any suggestions/links would be highly appreciated

 

- I would suggest buy a $300-500 used one if you don't need it for that long.^_^
- If you can spend up to $3000, you can basically buy the best laptops...:noworry:
- I would suggest Sony, if you are willing to pay more, they usually overprice(Better Graphics).
- Suggesting Dell, if its for basically school work etc.>_<

 

If your only looking to surf the web and do school work, 500$ should be more than enough, try looking into Asus. I'm considering buying one from them soon

 

Asus EEE PC or Acer Aspire One. They're both nice slim notebooks with a very decent price tag. Perfect for your needs, keep the extra cash; you'll be buying a car soon I'm guessing.

That's the one I have, I recommend it.

It's not really expensive, works great for school work.

If you buy this laptop you won't regret it and you'll save loads from you're $3000 budget and use it towards stuff for your laptop and anything else.

The only thing you should have to buy with it is Microsoft Office (Newest Edition works)

 

Are you looking for a desktop or notebook?

 

And you won't need to spend near as much as $3000 for a basic laptop just for browsing...

 

Why no Mac? Get a Macbook Air install windows and you got one kickass laptop.

I plan on spending about $1000 on a Sony with some pretty damn good hardware specs, they are worth the value for a long lasting notebook.
