So if George Bush did something corrupt, that would make the entire American population corrupt? Unless you support these corrupt actions, and btw I'd like examples, then you are not corrupt.
If you choose to follow a leader, then fine, you do that. I follow Christ. If the pope went and said something which was the complete opposite of what Christ said, then I would look for another branch of Christianity. Now I'm getting into how I live my life, so I'll try to stop it soon. Following Christ is more important than worshiping an archbishop/pope/whatever, if you are Christian.

So what you're saying is, someone else's life is less important than yours? ALL humans are made equal. Being bad etc. has nothing to do with the value of someone's life.

LOL spam forum intelligence > off-topic intelligence!

No Because you can't blame someone for where they live, they can't choose on there own to say "hey gtfo fag" now if they like bush and or support him then yes. You have the power to quit believing in Christianity or w\e religion there are other religions out there less tainted and some believe in the same ways as Christians.

That is good if I remember correctly you are to worship no man\being other than god\jesus or something like that. Keep in mind I may be a little off on parts of which I say are from the bible as it has been a few years since I have read it. I am some what confused on what you want me to give you examples on so if you elaborate I will do my best.

No not at all, I honestly believe everyone else's life is more important than mine which is why I would give my life if it meant that it saved someone else's But that is just because I live life day by day I have achieved all the goals I have set in my life. On another note my Ideology is that every being man\animal and everything in between is all equal not one living thing is any less important than the other. What I was getting at is that is the way most religious people think when they look at "sinners" and generally only will say good things\help them to give them satisfaction that they are superior than that person because they could help them when he\she could not help them self.

For this I know is true, just look at the threads there.. half of it belongs here in the spam forum.

If god was\is real and as powerful as you all seem to think wouldn't he be able to get his story right when he told the prophets to right bible? there are an immense amount of contradictions within all bibles. As well as errors in a few of them.

Why should we stop believing what we believe, because certain leaders are fail? Humans are human. Believing in God doesn't make me a hypocrite just because you think that these leaders are hypocrites.

So American's can't choose who their leader is, so they aren't hypocrites, when it comes down to a majority. We can't choose who will become priests/bishops/archbishops/cardinals/popes. Priests go through a process set out by the archdioceses. Then they get "promoted" to the other positions. Again, we have no control over who gets accepted and who doesn't. Even if we did, there are plenty (the majority) who are fine and do legit work for the church. Once again, this doesn't make me a hypocrite.

Examples of corrupt people (names and specifics please), and tell me how because they believe in the same God, that makes me corrupt as well.

You're generalizing. Incredibly stupid cult-like groups in America like those idiots who made the signs "God hates gay troops" or whatever are what you're referring to.

    This, is not Christianity: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=5kF1J4s0dxM

Errors come from translation. The old testament is pretty much directly taken from the Jewish Torah, which some books were written by prophets. *Most* of the new testament is written by people who experienced time with Jesus. You have the gospels, then the Acts of Saul describing his conversion and what happened after the death of Jesus, letters to the Romans, Corinthians etc. and eventually you get to Revelation (which I don't know much about).

In case you missed it before: the bible is not written entirely by prophets.

Again, this is not about how powerful God is/if God indeed exists. There's a thread in SFA for that.

The fact is I would say that about 95% or more of your "leaders" are hypocrites to the rules you're all suppose to abide by.

You can change religions or what ever it may be without having a big repercussion on your life. If lets say I were to move from America to a different country that I found had the right views that could have a very bad effect on my life as it would be trying to start a new and giving up everything that I have worked hard for. you just say "hey no longer Christian here" what else do you have to lose?

    --------------------------
I would post names but unfortunantly I don't know the names of the priest at your church.

Not at all that is what your beloved Christians do on a regular basis.

What I was getting at is "god" could have corrected these mistakes but did not because "god" is inferior and is no more powerful than anyone else because all "god" is, is a deluded vision of basic morals in which all people have added with a hint of corruption that helps those who believe push there views on other people because what they say is correct because god said it.

If a Christian wants their bible to be 'fancy' or 'good-looking', I'm afraid they've missed the point entirely.

As to the rest of you, here's proof that Bibles are sold only to cover costs. Ready for it? It's quite simple. Here we go:

The same organisations that sell them publish them for free online.

You're paying for the materials and running costs.

Also, to all you people who seem to think all Christians are part of some worldwide organisation, I suggest you do some research.

Most churches are independent (or grouped together by local regions). They only truly 'worldwide' church organisation that I know of is the Catholic church - and they've got it wrong on several key issues.

yeh, if Christians/Muslims/other believers are "fooling" themselves, then I wonder, how can so many billions of people be fooling themselves?

and does anybody do anything for free? yep, im sure they should just give out free bibles, when the paper costs, the ink costs, just think if you re-written/translated something, would you just be like hey everyone im going to make millions of copies of this for free. and you put so much work into it, and if you disagree, then i strongly recommend you do a big project that you will work months upon possibly, and just give it all up for free to the whole entire world, lets all see how long would this person last...not only mentally but financially as well.
apparently, atheists always think of statements that can always be proven wrong with just a few simple words.

For a book the size of the bible it costs about 10-15 usd what is the other 10-15 usd for? the enchantment of god? lol c'mon get real.

Because back when man was less intelligent someone seen fire, they were so amazed they believed it was a god. As time went by people got tired of that god that they worshiped and made one of there own. and thus today many many people believe in different gods all because of our ancestors ignorance.

You my friend also are failing to see what I am getting at please re-read the arguments here maybe then it will sink into your thick head.

    Read above.

So that other bibles can be given away for free. Now we're just repeating what we've said before.

There aren't many, many Gods. Name all the Gods that currently, people believe in.

Edit: Sorry about the pathetic grammar, looks like I've fixed it...

I don't think you're listening to me. Bibles are not sold for profit.
They're usually sold at a price which enables the organization which printed the Bible to continue doing so.

The problem with people like you is that you seem to think man is more intelligent now than 2000 years ago. That's just stupid. Man may not have been as well-informed as people now, but they weren't stupid.

Many of them were probably more intelligent than you.

I've got 3 bibles, as I've already said. We need more bibles, because there are a lot of Christians, and there will still be more Christians to come.

*I deleted the list because there was quite a few, check the original post for the list*

I meant Gods that people still believe in, dietys is probably a better word to describe what you just listed. Greeks no longer believe in Zeus, and "Romans" or Italians or whatever no longer believe Uranus is a God.

There's one thing that many people are forgetting. So, the general arguement is that Christians are hypocrites because they say they follow the Bible and yet do everything that the Bible tells them not to do.

Well, there's one thing that you're all forgetting. There is no such thing as Christianity any more. Every Christian has been converted to a new religion. This new religion, which is now the most common religion in the world and is worshipped in over 100 countries, is...

    CAPITALISM!!!

And the deity in which Capitalists believe is called MONEY!

No Catholic truly believe what he or she preaches because their not really Catholic. The only thing which people believe and understand is money. Our entire world revolves around money. Screw family values. Screw equality. Screw helping an old lady across the street. If there's no money in it, nobody cares! Money is the new God!

And here's the proof: The words "IN GOD WE TRUST" are written on teh U.S $1 bill. That's the God in the U.S.A. Money! Their God is a freaking bank note! And the rest of the world isn't much different.

So when you say that Christians are hypocrites, they're really not. They're Capitalists who pretend to be Christian. So it's no wonder that they go against the teachings of the Bible. They don't even truly believe in the Bible! Maybe if someone slipped a fifty into one of the pages and told them to read it to find the money they might, but, otherewise, they don't truly believe in the Bible or its teachings.

Want more proof? Walk up to a Christian with a Bible in one hand and a fifty dollay bill in the other and ask which one they believe is more useful. I will bet any amount of money that over 90% will choose the money.

So please stop saying that Christians are hypocrites, because you're not really talking about Christians are you? Calling a Christian a Capitalist is very unkind. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be called a bastard. Well, Christians don't like it either. So stop calling them Capitalists and GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

90% will choose the money, because they already own a bible. Why? because they are being given away/being sold so that the church can afford to give them away.

No, the question was, which would they find more beneficial? Not, which they would rather take. I already know that they own a Bible. Everyone has been arguing that for the last year or however long this thread has been going for.

    So lrn2read!!!

Yes, but it can be said that it is because they already own a bible that they think the $50 is more beneficial. They can have a bible and $50, over two bibles which have almost identical text. And then the bible can go to someone else who needs one.
