Kicked out of house, no job, no money. PLEASE HELP!

Tell him to stay at a friends house until he can get enough money to fly to Canada.

 

Take a word of advice, I think you should help the guy, after all.. He's your friend. Sometime in ur life u might even need his help u know.

 

Whats stopping him from moving with other family?

 

Maybe he doesn't have any other family? Or even if he does, they might not want to take him.

Although I don't know why he would have to fly all the way over to Canada, I'm pretty sure he can take care of himself, even if it takes living in homeless shelters and getting a job.

 

well im not sure about australia. but in usa if ur over 18 ur parents are able to kick u out/make u pay rent. since you are of legal age of consent that is

 

he can't do anything about child service laws considering he's 18. also why can't he stay with you

 

there are shelters and shit in all the city's.

but he should avoid them if he can. dont think he can get centerlink (welfare) till he has a fixed address. best idea would be to stay with a friend or relative. get a fixed address and go to centerlink assuming he doesn't have a job. if he does have a job he should rent something?

i wouldn't send him money or a plane ticket. like finn said he could just be after some easy $$.

It's 17 now in most places.

Anyways if the kid is under 17 his parents are in a legally binding contract to raise him in which he could sue them for neglect [ one way for him to get money] the other is the child care idea.

If he is over 17 he needs to gtfo and get a job like every other person.

 

If he can be a temporary bum in Australia(means to do do odd-jobs, for the people under 90 IQ), then I am sure he can get enough money for a plane ticket to Canada, whatever Provence you live in...
But, if you think about it, it is easier & cheaper to live in Australia in some ways, it isn't needed to buy a big, warm jacket, along with pants and such...

 

There should be no reason for your friend to be sleeping on a park bench due to his parents malicious acts. There are always shelters that you can call and I'm sure he has a relative, a family friend, or a friend which can harbor him until things blow over with his family. If he hasn't done something so extreme, then he should just wait it out, rather than travel all the way to Canada. If hes done something harsh then maybe he should explore other options.

i agree , you don't know who's out there, he could just be wanting your money when you said "i'm trying to organise him some money to fly over to canada".

i live in victoria and what macroman said, centrelink is a great support system. they give you $150 a week if you dont have a job etc. i dont know why he just doesnt ask them.

also, when you posted you said he was getting kicked out tonight, so how did you talk to him on your latest post?

 

not quite that easy. you need to have a fixed address which he doesn't have. and it normaly takes a few months after you sign up to when you actually start getting payments.

 

It is terrible, but he is an adult already and is responsible for his self now. He should try and find a mates place to stay at for the time being.

i hate these people who just cant get along with there parents. i dont always agreee with what my parents tell me but i just lie to them and get it done/
