No the point I'm trying to make is that your original post is not fact based.

 

It is based on facts, but it is not a very good post. Obama can do things without congress, even though that is not really his power, it has been used before and not many people really care about it. Congress could undo things that he does, like telling them to shut down the Guantanamo prison, which Obama said should be done within the year.

Obama can do what he wants with the military... He said that we will be out of Iraq in 16 months, and congress can not really do much of anything to stop him from doing that.

 

Well if u think that obama has tons of power then maybe you should go back to high school or read a book. The President has only a few powers. Able to let people out of jail. Appoint judges and llike 1 other thing. every other thing has to be apporved by congress. so wen ppl blamed bush for evertying... 90% of the stuff people blamed on him wasnt even his fault. its easy to blame 1 person( the president) not 400 people (congress)

 

Did you not read my first post? The president is the most powerful person in the US. Yes he can let people out of jail, and make their sentences shorter. He appoints the judges when one dies or resigns. Congress does not have to tell him it is ok for him to go to Africa to talk with world leaders. Congress does not have to tell him it is ok for him to send the military places. The president has much more power than what most people know of because what many people learn is the basics of the way the government works. When you start learning the more complex things, then you understand what the president does.

And if the president does so little, why do not more people run for president?

 

I completely agree with you, and don't be afraid that you are sounding racist, because the black people that are cheering and screaming that Obama is the best thing to happen to this country are only saying this because he's black, which, by the way he is NOT. He is as much black as he is white (50% black, 50% white). This means I can run up and down my hall yelling "we have a white president" and no one should be able to contest that.
Even though black people, and some white, latinos, arabs, etc, were saying this is not about race and we should not look at the color but the issues, then can someone please explain why over 90% of African Americans in the US voted for Obama? Of course it's about race, and they have become more racist than white people, but the white people, of course, can't call them out on that because they will be considered racist. It's a double standard, and I can only hope Obama does a great job as president, for his sake and his cult's sake.

By the way, this opinion is coming from an impartial third party, I'm neither black or white.

This is a direct quote from the head military commander James Rose "I take direct orders from the president, if he tells me to attack we attack, if he tells me to stay I stay, if he tells me to jump i say how high." That is a direct quote from him. Im not choosing sides im just stating the facts, i asked my grandpa and he said that what the Commander and Cheif says goes unless it is outragious. He was in the military for 40 years and retired as head of Ft. Campbell.

 

No, it is not required that the president ask congress before he does anything with the military, but most do anyways, but it is not required by any law nor the constitution. I would have to guess there is laws saying what the president can and can not do with the military, like there must be something that says he can not have the army storm congress and kill them all...

 

This is a testament to much of the Obama supporters, although I am one. Just because you are 25% Puerto Rican doesn't mean your part of the majority. Sarah Palin wasn't exactly dumb, you should try not to believe many of the lies you hear in the media . I do agree that many blacks are irrational about it and should be a bit more respectful to our ex-president.

The president simply uses them as advisers to make sure is the proper decision. SuF's right, the president is the commander in chief, so he makes the ultimate decision.

 

Well have u ever seen the movie Hotel Rwanda? the president sent UN Soildiers to help the people in the hotel. (all based on a true story) but congress did not think it was a nessescery for them to be there. so No matter what they werent aloud to take any shots. the president is not able to make most disicions if congress doesnt agree with it.

 

You can not base your knowledge on a movie. Plus, UN soldiers are not under the president, as not all of them may be from the US....

I do not believe he deserves to be president. He won because he was black. I bet if mcain was black he whould have won. I can not wait till obama has to handle the war in iraq. He has no war exp so this should be funny.

 

Thats what his advisors and military personnel are for. He has already said that he wants all troops out within 16 months, and is going to write out a time line for it.

Plus, why would it be funny if he fucks up and gets our troops killed? How is that funny?

and suf.. its not that easy just to pull thousands of soldiers out. u make it seem so easy. its not hard to say he is going to do it.. lets actually see if he does do it.

 

That's a little over the edge. Obama didn't win because he was black, he won because he represented the youth, the intelligent, the minority and most of all those who wanted a change. I don't particularly agree with his viewpoints, but it's ridiculous to say he won because he's black, that's what we call reverse discrimination and in this case it's not that radical. McCain still would have lost, regardless of color. Just because he has no war experience, doesn't mean he can't learn or have a positive impact on the war.

 

i do think your right to a certain extent. but then again there were defintly thousands and thousands of people that voted for him because he was black. My mother was one of them. Think about all the Black people who defintly voted for him not knowing anything about him.

 

He only beat McCain in the popular vote by about 6% if my memory is correct(53% to 47% I think). He dominated McCain in the electoral vote, but still it was close in the popular vote. I really do think that he won since he is black. Most everyone I know that supports him for really no reason and love him since he is black, so I really do think he won because he is black.

All he has to do is come up (with the help of his MANY advisors) a time line in which he wants troops pulled out at. Then he must send it over to the military and tell them do this, and if you can not get it done for some reason ask me and I will change it... Its really not that hard... We have more troops than we need over there so it should not be a big deal to start to bring them home.

people think that we were there for no reason.. we found many atomic weapons. not as much as we thought but still enough that it meant something
