Bible Question

At a lot of places you can get a bible for free. If you need a bible and go to a decent church you will be given one for free.

If you can afford a bible and don't want to put a financial strain on the church you can buy one or in the case you wanted a bible with a shiny cover or something like that.

Back in the days before I met Shredder and still went to church, my church gave out bibles for free.

 

Hmm. This thread seems to be going nowhere. Why doesn't someone start up some intelligent conversation? Hopefully related to religion.

Why charge for a bible though? I dont care how good it is..

To me, religion seems to be a pro-profit game.

 

The bible says that you should love god\jesus not money if I remember correctly.

 

Perhaps it takes time/money to make the bibles?

I don't see the discussion. We have clearly clarified that all the various bibles in the various religions take lots of money for production costs and materials. If they didn't sell them, they would not be able to produce them. Simple.


Also which bible are we talking about?(Jewish, Christian, Muslim)

People sell bibles because they cant afford to give them away for free. Usually what the tend to do is work on selling bibles to people who can afford it, and then using the money to give bibles to those who cant. In doing so allot more bibles can be given out. Also there is an organization called the Gideon who have given out more than 15,000,000 bibles world wide.
