You think he's awesome, yet you believe that he will fail? Alright...

As for me, I think he has his work cut out for him, and I wont make any decisions until I see him conquer (or fail) those issues. Im actually watching his speech as I type this, and so far so good (but then again, anyone could talk). Like I said, we will just have to see.

 

Yes, I do. I think he's awesome although he won't be able to live up to everything he promised.

 

Obviously, no one lives up to what they say, he is human (and a politician)

But if your saying you LOVE him, then I would assume you believe in him.

This thread screams fail just because of how it was set-up. He did deliver a good speech with even more promises. I can't help but to have some hard feelings for him just because of all the ignorant votes he got, but he does have a good outlook.

We'll see in those all important first 100 days of his presidency.

 

I agree. He is clearly intelligent, graduating from Harvard Law School, and as well seems dilligent and determined enough to complete various promises.

His speech was great, although he shouldn't get the credit for it, he simply delivered it. He's clearly ambitious, obviously intelligent (graduating from Harvard Law) and he is showing that he is passionate about clearing the obstacles we face. However, he can very easily crack under the pressure that has surrounded him, what with people calling him our savior and whatnot. We shall see..

 

Even though people helped, and his speech writer made a base, he spent 2 days alone smoothing it out and adding things.

 

That's beside the point...people believe that Obama has a great mind and comes up with these incredible speeches from his raw talent, intelligence and passion for the presidency, when in reality he has a twenty-something cocky writer who writes the entire thing for him, then gives it to Obama to "proofread"

 

He will be the worst thing that will ever happen to the US.

 

I think you just mislead what he was going to. When Obama was talking about how all of us as people should be equal, he obviously could not use /every/ example in the book. He obviously had a time limit for the speech, He was using examples to set the big Idea. The Big Idea being that all people, no matter what you like, look like, /etc/, are equal and stand equal in America.

I'm not quite sure about him yet, but before calling him a hypocrite and a liar, I'd let him have a couple of months, see if he plans on keeping his promises.

And finally, on your sexuality,

The president is not the only person who decides the laws in America, such as Gay Marriage. It goes through the Senate, and I'm sure he gets a say, But only putting the blame on him is wrong.

That's my opninion anyways.

Euh, Sorry to be touchy if I am but, This is the \General Discussion\ Sub forum. When you make a post, at least show some backing or opinion , not just the fact. It's just a waste of my post and spam in my opinion.

I was almost certain he was about to be boom headshotted during his speech. Oh well.

 

It actually goes through the house, then the senate, then to the president just to accept or veto (which can be overriden). In aspect he actually gets little to no say on laws or bills that are passed. He's just there to make sure they get enforced.

 

Hm, thank you for correcting me, I am personally from Canada, I was judging by our system an Idea of how it would work. That even extentiates my point. That whether he is against gay marriage or not, it doesn't necessarily mean that gay marriage will not be allowed.
