American Ignorance (Did Edgar Allen Poe write the Bible?)

Yes I spelled ignorance wrong in the title. Simple typo.

Yes, today at school while we were studying Edgar Allen Poe, I overheard a girl ask the teacher if Edgar Allen Poe wrote the Bible. I looked at her dumbfounded. Her friend saw me and said "Hey come one, they were both around the same time period".

The Bible - The first five books of the Old Testament ...1450 BC - 1410 BC
Last Book (Book of Revelation) was written in 95 A.D

Edgar Allen Poe wrote horror/thriller short stories about death and ironic psychological situations. The Bible is a record of things that have happened hundreds of years ago. (Don't argue, not the point of this thread)

What is wrong with the world? How can you be so ignorant as to not even know what the bible is even about? The idiocy of some people confounds me.

I think you meant historically, but when you think about it nothing is. If I tell you a story, then my friend tells someone else the same story, each story will leave different impacts on the people even if they were the same. So some things are historically very close, but not 100% accurate. That is semantics though.

Yes but all countries have idiots but America more so than others, that is agreed. That is because the good life is taken for granted. Most countries kill for education but here we skip it, hate it, and so on. The world is the same as it has always been, albeit with new technology but evolution has always progressively occurred.

Also, before you begin criticizing society's collective ignorance, take a look at your own grammar and word usage. For example:
