Shredderbeam completely owned this thread D:

I really don't know how anything happened, nor do I care. At all.
There might be a God, there might not. But religion has started every wrong in the world. Screw it.

Well, since you presumably believe in a creationist account of things, why don't you argue for your beliefs?

Everything he said had an intelligent fact or intelligent information in it. As in comparison to yours was lacking intelligence.

Can you elaborate on this? If they spewed gases, what stopped the gasses from just going into space?

Gravity. Gases have mass too, you know.

Ok, I agree, gases have mass, I do know that.

What do you think, in your opinion, are the odds of having an atmosphere that is so perfectly set to sustain life? I'm aware that you have no numbers to go off of since it hasn't happened anywhere else, but, in the grand-scheme of the universe forming, what are the odds?

The odds against any one planet having such conditions are astronomical.

However, there are a lot of potential planets available for life to start on. It's hard to describe in laymans terms, but here's a short demonstration:

    http://www.atinyglimpse.ytmnd.com/

Given a billion billion planets, and given the odds against a planet's perfection being a billion to one, a billion planets would still be suitable for life.

Lol that was probably the most ignorant statement I have ever heard. Describe wrong without religion.

The scientific evidence for "molecular biology" posted by Hashlinger is utter bull shit. I have doubts that any real geneticists would have qualms with evolution. The key term for that study is a "high selective view". Well it turns out that if you "zoom in" on anything enough, you will begin to notice differences that are perhaps irrelevant. Speaking broadly, genetic patterns as a whole strongly support the idea of evolutionary tree. I have doubt thats hashlinger has even had a basic introduction to genetics through an advanced biology course... The way I see it, the Church once believed in a flat world, nothing stops them from being wrong yet again.

I'm not even sure hashlinger understands what "intelligent design" is. Intelligent design has no conflict with evolution itself, scientist simply believe it's a violation of Occum's Razor. The world is a beautiful place, there have been guesses of how rare/chance a world such as ours to form. Well, we'd only form on such a perfect world....

Don't believe in "Intelligent design"? Let me ask you some questions.

Rationalism is where religion and science can mix.

How does religion come into rationalism?

Disagreed. Rationalism thrives on evidence and reasoning. While it does not mean that religion and rationalism are mutually exclusive, it's an incorrect deduction to state that mixing science and religion creates it.

    It can mix.

You can still believe in god, but still act on what science says and not do things blindly because of what a person of high rank in the church says. You can determine what is wrong in your own perspective.

Like, you can think how the earth began like this....(I don't study all about what can construct into a life-form or w.e so i'll just dumb it down a bit)
God made the molecules in-order for the Big Bang to happen, while evolution, made us who we are.

Then that is a mix of rationalism and non-rationalism.

Do you have any evidence that God created a Big Bang?

Explain where the molecules to make the Big Bang happen came from. It all starts somewhere.

I don't know. How do you know that God did it? If you have data showing that he did, I'd very much like to see it.
