Well i still think the Playstation 3 is FTW!

xbox for me, less expensive and better games.

 

Only good thing PS3 has is graphics. Xbox 360 ftw

 

Overall the PS3 is much better imo!

The Xbox 360 has better stuff than the PS3 though such as a more powerful GPU but the PS3 has Blu-Ray, a much more powerful CPU etc... and best of all the PS3 has got the game Metal Gear Solid 4!!!

To the thread owner: Your argument is flawed, because you only speak of the graphics, and not the rest of features of both systems.

If you seem to not include other things that are vital such as games. If you really want to make a strong argument, then include more things into your post, and not only one thing.

But I'd go for the 360 mainly because of the price. I like the convenience of the removable hard drive. I bought an arcade for $199, bought a 20GB hard drive from microsoft for only $20, and since they've lowered their prices recently, they've added guitar hero 3 + guitar for free.

 

My vote is for the 360 based on cheaper price and better games in my opinion. Also I like the Live play better.

 

LOL every system has it's problems? So if your computer starts getting a red ring of death and the manufacturer of that computer keeps making the SAME MODEL even though thousands upon thousands are having the problem, you're going to shrug it off as "ever system has it's problems"?

Anyways lets get down to it for arguments sake.

1) GRAPHICS - Your original argument is flawed as PS3 has a far more capable graphics generator on it, and better processors as well not to mention full HD output. Those pictures are from an inacurate source, assassins creed looks much better on the ps3 than the xbox 360, so do most games. It very much depends on what resolution you were using and the various other settings you can tweak on the ps3 though whether it will come out beautifully as it was meant to or pale like your pictures. Those pictures were taking off of a sub par television set or in less than 720p. You can even check gamespot which will tell you from their tests the graphics engine on the ps3 always comes accross more vividly and sharper than on the XBOX. Not by a noticeable amount though.

In the end graphics can't really be held as an argument since it really doesn't make a difference that's very noticeable even if you've played the game multiple times on one system and then switched to another. You'll notice it at first but in moments it won't make a difference.

THE ONLY thing you can argue graphics for is that all games which are PS3 ONLY have better graphics than all XBOX 360 exclusive games, because they were coded to take advantage of the PS3 which has better hardware on it. But if you want to argue this then you're more arguing the genre of game you're playing. Which brings me to my next argument.

GAMES - YES the xbox 360 has a ton more games for it than the PS3 this is a constantly argued point which is quite pointless to be honest, you buy the system that will have the exclusive games you care the most about. YES the xbox 360 has ninja gaiden 2 exclusively (until it gets ported to computer/ps3 next year.) but ps3 will have Final Fantasy 13 (I can't remember whether it's 13 or vs 13 that is ps3 exclusive you'll have to check on that.) Then again ps3 has exclusive rights on MGS4 aswell, but xbox got added gta4 content. You see what I'm getting at? You pick the series you like.

Let's not forget that XBOX had what a year and a half over PS3 to get games out, we're barely scratching the ps3's games that will come out, not to mention the ps3 is NOT using it's full graphics capacity on any of it's current games and we can therefore look forward to better games coming out for it in the future. Yet the xbox 360 is already tapp'd out until the xbox (720?) comes out.

So when you really get down to it, ps3 is your best bet for RPG's and RTS games, fantasy genre's etc. And it also has some decent FPS. But the xbox has always been the FPS buff and generally winds up winning on the sports games as well, but now most sport games are multi platform anyways.

Features.

AH now here's where the ps3 blows the xbox out of the water. Internal internet browser, a million features for pictures and videos etc, both have some semblance of these features but sony has fine tuned it especially with the almost constant updates. AND the ability to switch to your web browser WHILE PLAYING so that you can check a walkthrough while you're stuck .

Lets go one step further and say BLU RAY, I'll just sop there. Sony wins here, a 400$ blue ray player (which does damn well at it.) with HDMI and full up scaling on your DVD's? AND IT ALSO plays top of the line video games? Sorry xbox but you got pwnt here.

Look - Well in MY opinion, the xbox 360 looks like a toy, the ps3 looks like a sleek sexy beast, and is never an eye sore in the black cabinet I have it in. Where as a pasty white xbox would be.

Problems - The xbox literally BLOWS THE PS3 OUT OF THE WATER here, which is NOT a good thing. Red ring of death, overheat issues, dead hard drives, cases falling apart when people open the box (youtube this one.) yeah you can have fun with your $hitbox 360 since it's not going to last you very long.

Power consumption - At peak the ps3 takes more power, even in general it runs a bit higher than the xbox, but that's to be expected if you want better graphics so it's a toss up for you on whether the 50 cents for electricity makes a difference to you or not.

IN the end for ME the ps3 is a far better buy, with the blue ray capability and full HD and upscaling I would have bought it just as a home theatre player for 400$ (since it includes a full music feature, the ability to pop sd and memory cards in (OOPS a feature I didn't list which the XBOX yet again doesnt have.) and show a slide show, save my videos on it, EVERYTHING.). now the fact that it's also the most powerful graphics console out at the moment (not vs a computer really but we're not going there.) and has my favorite genre of games (FINAL FANTASY anyone?) not to mention the fact that I don't have to deal with any garbage of red ring of death and worry about carrying it like a delicate piece of crystal the ps3 for me was a great buy. It goes well with my 46" Sharp Aquos and Logitech Z5500 sound system in ways an xbox never would.

Now in my humble opinion though, half the features the ps3 has are not worth it to people because most of us DONT have big shiny TV's to play it on and so are stuck trying to see what the best we can get for our money is to fit our crapy little 27" RCA television. For me even then it would be ps3 and I DO think it is a superior machine, but without the added features it comes down to games, and which games YOU want to play.

Just my opinion on the subject.

definatly the 360 for me plus if you look the graphics are much better in both the games yo uhave featured here, such as look at the rear view mirrior, and the detailing o nthe creases on the assassins shirt, overall i think xboxx 360 is a much better and more affordeable games console.

if you have enough money to waist and splash out i advise getting both because they have compeltely different games on them and completely different features.

i advise yo uthat if you want to create a good arguement for the two u add in a third in the form of the wii, because, maybe suprisingly the wii has out sold both consoles and has better ratings and is much different and faster than the other two consoles featured here.

TBH I play more 360 than PS3 since alot of people at school have an xbox.
But hands down the PS3 is a beast.

 

Obviously PS3 >>> XBox360 in graphics and gameplay, but if you're looking for a cheaper gaming system I recommend the Xbox360. I personally like the PS3 more, but that's only because I have that console and most the games that make use of it's great new features.

 

I would say they both have great selections of games, but for now the 360 has an edge on price and online community (even though they charge for it). PS3 has a lot of exciting projects that will be put into action soon, plus free online is a huge plus.

 

Playstation 3 has better graphics and better games, Xbox 360 has nothing on these:

Killzone 2.
Metal Gear Solid 4.
Resistance 2.
Little Big Planet.

I just play my Xbox more because my friends all play Live.

But anyone who says Xbox is better then Playstation 3 obviously doesn't have one.

Halo isn't over-rated it's a good game, imo ps3's games are way shitter then x360.

Ps3 is better single-player because most games the graphics are better and the controller has that feature I forgot it but where you move the controller to move vechiles on gta4 etc but sony has really fucked up online play for ps3 to me it is shit.

X360 however has slightly worst graphics I reckon but the games and online play are so much better, the gamerscore feature is great and you can have your avatars, and profile, etc. Where as sony has just put in this stupid thing where you can walk around with an avatar. and as for blu-ray dont even get me started on that over-priced piece of fuck.

I love how you can put a mouse and keyboard and browse the internet on a ps3, that has to be the best feature of it and the only good games on PS3 are on the 360 aswell. The harddrives are better, 360's are faster, it is microsoft made so it picks up my laptop and I can stream music and video and what not through the laptop without even having to get up.

Xbox 360 ftw, all you little ps3 bitches gtfo and get a real gaming console instead of your over-priced sony shit.

And Thantos get the fuck out red rings of death is just the 360 overheating, ps3 does exactly the same thing but they don't have the rrod, and ps3 is newer so ofcourse its got more updated shit doesn't take a fucking scientist to figure that shit out.
