I'd actually start selling pins if this program was made. Depending on how much the monthly fee would be ;)

New Program For PIN Sellers - Would You Use It?

I'm saying "program" because I'm coding in in serverside languades, it will be a website.

Very interesting, this would make it MUCH harder to validate PINs. Does anyone have any ideas about how to maintain the anti-scam benefits without an automated PIN checker? Besides only letting trusted sellers use my system, I'm not sure what else I could do.

I know you could also sell RS Accounts through this site - and I know for a fact that I could easily verify any account's validity with an automated checker. Would there be interest in this as well?

Sounds like a great idea, just one flaw:

    Scamming WILL happen.

On PayPal, they will open a dispute and claim their money back, stating they never received the pin/it was invalid.

You say in a real trade, there is the same risk.

Not really, because if the buyer is going first and you make them Claim and Cancel, they can't open another claim against you, meaning no scams can happen.

With this, you are defenseless until you check PayPal, then you have to go through the process of providing proof that the PIN was sent and that your system shows that the PIN was valid at the time of being sent.

Other then that, it sounds like a perfect idea for PIN sellers, there is just that one risk of using it lol.

    WOW,

I would love to see this done. It is an amazing idea! Although, you might want to conduct a lot of tests before releasing it.

I had a thought, would there be some way of making sure the person purchasing the pin was paying the correct amount? Just thinking of that FireFox addon that can edit pages...

All in all, though, this sounds like a really great idea.

PayPal offers no buyer protection for digital goods. Because the sales will go through the PayPal IPN notification system, all you have to do is prove to Paypal that you are running a digital goods service and all disputes will be immediately closed.

My system is 100% hack proof, and will not ship any digital goods to the buyer until the payment is cleared and verified to be the correct amount.

this sounds like a great idea, if it could be secure. I think alot of people would be skeptical to use it at first, but as long as noone reports their pins stolen or anything, it could really flourish.

    Touche.

Then this looks like a good future for PIN selling.

    Good luck mate.

Also, are you planning on just letting any PIN seller use this?

I would suggest you take a 4-9% fee out of each PIN sold, or rent it out.

If it turns out to be what it sounds like, it would be well worth paying for/giving a small cut of what the person selling gets.

Just an idea to get you some money for making it.

I'm definitely going to charge for this, I'm trying to decide on the fees now. I was thinking a one-time fee of around $10 to set up a server for the PIN seller, and then maybe around forty or fifty cents commission for every PIN sold.

Sounds good, but think hard on the commission price you choose.

Please, if you think it's too high/low let me know. I want this to be affordable, yet still make me something for my trouble.

Well for one, you need to have a PBP PIN option and an SMS PIN option.

Like, the seller tells you which they want to sell, or both.

And then there needs to be a separation between the two, like "Click here to purchase an SMS PIN" and "Click here to purchase a PBP PIN".

Because the prices are different, plus I think the PIN's # of numbers/letters are different.

Also not to mention SMS are $12.00USD and PBP are $8.00USD

I think you should take $0.80USD from each SMS sale, seeing as they are a higher price, and sellers will sell a bit higher to get a profit.

I also think you should take $0.50USD from PBP because they cost less and they are more common. They are sold more, which means more sales come in from then, meaning more money even if it's only 50 cents a sale.

That's a good point, I didn't remember the price difference between the two. It;s still no problem tho, all I'd have to do is make them two seperate products in the internal database.

For you to prove paypal that you are running digital services or what ever, can take some time. I am sure scammers would take advatange to claim, and you can't keep telling paypal the same thing over and over again. And as i said, when i sell pins, i make people go first, so they would have to claim+cancel. I like this idea, but i don't like it either as scammers will take advantage of this.

This would be great, we need to think of ways like this to stop scammers. It's been long enough.
