Circuit City shuts down

All the U.S stores are being shut down.

What does this mean? A huge electronics supplier has gone bankrupt, following the trends of alot of business's lately.

Damn it, this sucks. I always bought my stuff from Circuit city because they had the better deals between them and best buy. I wonder how bad they did last quarter to make them shut down suddenly.

Best Buy is better anyway, I hate going to circuit city.

 

I have never been there, just thought i would point out that it will get alot worse before it gets better.

More jobs to the shitter.

 

Oh well their prices always seemed much more expensive than best buy. Hopefully best buy's competition will keep up though. Soon I'm going to be looking for a job in IT and by all means I'm going to try to avoid working at best buy, it's so big and so many bad customers. Hopefully staples works out.

I think I'll go to circuit city today see if there are any good deals.

I would rather work at best buy then any other electronic store, because how big it is and how many customer's they get. It's an opportunity to share your knowledge to the public.

 

I guess its sucks for the economy and job loss but I buy online mostly now. Probably stop there to look at the deals though.

 

I'd rather work at Staples were everything isn't so hectic. Where maybe I can get to know people and take time to make customers happy while I gain knowledge truly understanding there problems. My friend works at Best Buy he hates it, he doesn't get paid much and their are so many angry customers.

 

This is some old news but it does suck to see them shut down, i got all my stuff from there

 

34,000 people is quite a bit to go job less. Some companies are probably going to go out of a business in worse ways.

 

its sad i got a itouch from there and bought warrenty, now its usless i guess.

and my dad has a 3000$ camera with warrenty fromt there..

 

True, they are lucky that they got a heads up in advance so they had an opportunity to job search some more once they knew they where getting laid off.

I personally liked Bust Buy, but I did buy some things from CC.

The economy is so fucking bad right now, and now 34k people are out of jobs. This is NOT what we need...

 

This is just the beginning, its gonna start to happen to more and more companies

 

Circuit City has terrible Employee benefits. I worked there for about 2 months and all the managers expects is for you to sell unneeded stuff.

The manager says "We're taking a loss on this TV, so sell them this home theater system", and it makes no fucking sense. No one wants to pay $700 for a TV and then buy a home theater system for $900...

hopefully anymore big-name electronic stores won't got out of business; mom/pop stores charge a little more then big-name stores and are harder to find
