Can the Speed of light be broken?

AT 186,000 miles per second can the speed of light be broken?
In the laws of physics it said that you need infinite amount of energy to break it?
But do you think that speed of light is the limit of speed?

On the macroscale, maybe. On the microscale, yes (conventional physics don't apply on the microscale).

Many laws of physics are yet to be altered. Therefore, although this might seem like a half assed answer, we can't be sure.

They used to think that it was impossible to break the speed of sound, and we are going multiple times faster than it now... So... Anything is possible... :/

Eventually, everything ill be surpassed. You just have to give it time.

Eventually, even if its 1000 years from now, somebody will find a way.

Well i would say yes, because a black hole has enough energy to not let light escape, which means it has enough energy to control light.

While proving that you can't break the light barrier, Einstein also showed that space can be bent.

If V = D/t, where D can be manipulated, I'm sure it can happen.

The speed of light can't be broken but in theory it's possible to get very close.

What do you see when you travel faster than the light and you look out of your car's window?

People said flight was impossible, but we eventually created planes. In the same way I don't want to say it's impossible, but improbable.

The amount of friction generated at 1,079,252,848.8km/h, or 17987547.48km/s, would unimaginably immense. The fuel needed to generate such a speed for even a nano-second would also be immense. The speed of light might perhaps be achieved by humans moving things like atoms through particle accelerators, but it is inconceivable that it will ever become a speed we can travel at perpetually.

There are quite a few things to consider when making that statement. Besides the manipulation of distance by bending space as mentioned above, one must also understand that speed is relative.

In fact, the Earth is moving extremely fast through space if you consider it on the Galactic magnitude.

    What do you see?

I'm pretty sure It already had. I think I've read an article on this

Dr Lijun Wang, of the NEC research institute in Princeton, shows that light pulses can be accelerated to up to 300 times their normal velocity of 186,000 miles per second.

U.S. scientists claim they have broken the speed of light: the ultimate speed barrier.

Its not IMPOSSIBLE to break the speed of light. You just need a big enough energy force behind something. The problem so to speak is proving that you can go faster then light. In theory if you do go faster then the speed of light you will remain "invisible" as such because you are traveling so fast light won't be able to bounce off the subject and into out eyes/camera/video recorder, therefore we can't see someone travel faster then the speed of light

My guess would be you would see black as the light couldnt keep up,

and yes, if people tried and tried we would find a way eventually

What I want to know is what would honestly happen when we break the speed of light? Sonic boom happens with breaking the speed barrier. How about light?

Can the Speed of light be broken?

I think it will be achieveable in the very long term future! :p

People said we'de never be able to fly when Leonardo Da Vinchi predicted we would invent machines that would allow us to fly. But look at us know going around the world in planes.

So yes I do think we'll achieve this some time in the distant future  .
