If you were presented solid evidence that God existed.

Would you turn your life over to him or stick to the way of the world.

If presented with solid evidence that a deity existed, I would acknowledge its existence. Whether I turn my life over to anything depends on the type of deity.

God will never present solid evidence that he exists, because then we wouldn't need faith to believe in him, which is the whole basis of religion.

A thousand years ago, or two thousand, or however many you'd like, God was not taken on faith. God was literally believed to be a deity that wrought daily miracles, appearing to huge crowds at a time (whether as a pillar of fire or a shouting cloud).

I'll use mesopotamia as an example as it's probably the easiest. Shred correct me if I mess it up it's been awhile since history 10 and I miss it =(

Mesopotamia, also know as the "fertile cresent" was one of the first places where homo sapien sapien (humans) went from a nomadic lifestyle to one of permanent settlements. Farming and livestock had become the main source of food rather than hunting, and of course the women did most of the work.

Even dating back this far there were several things that every civilization had in common.

    1. Common government, involving laws and some form of judgement or jury
    2. Morals and ethics amongst the community.
    3. Belief in a higher being
    4. Some form of religion. Many of the kings would compare themselves to the gods to earn the peoples respect, and their fear. Religion, fear, and hope held the government and its laws together and without it they feared chaos would occur, and many times it did.

An example of the fear brought by religion: The land near the river was very prone to flooding, but much better for growing the crops as the surrounding land was desert. People were always afraid of the flooding as it would bring a shortage of food, destroy houses, and even kill. They often thought it was the angry gods when flooding occured and that the king might have told them of their sins. So they would obey the laws and pray to the gods to stay on their good side, hoping things would be better. They knew nothing else and followed the main stream, as many people do today.

IE much music and christianity, thought christianity was kinda enforced.

The point is there has never really been a god. But everyone questions their existance and many consider a higher being. They are fearful as it is obviously more powerful and can do great good(jericho), or cause great harm(noahs ark) but there has never really been proof that events are linked to any higher being.

That is what it said in the Bible, but we know that God never actually appeared in front of real people and showed himself.

The thing is, if god is supposed to be incognito, and Islam states him to be an indescribable deity (so like, humans cannot "conjure" up an adjective for god) and Bible says he's a person, etc etc.

ALL OF JESUS' ATTRIBUTES HAVE BEEN USED PREVIOUSLY SO BELIEVING IN HIM IS LIKE BELIEVING IN HORUS TO BE YOUR LAWD N SAVIUR

i truthfully dont beleive in god...but that doesn't say that there isn't a higher power...just not god.....

and truthfully Christianity pisses me off..before i used to be christian and i believed but as i got older..i started believing and hating more and more....
cause i remember at my old church..(which i got kicked out of because of this) they would say how...if u dont believe in god...u will burn in hell...and how all the music that i listen to comes from the devil...and all that crap...and i got sick and tired of it...just because i wore band t-shirts...and wore tripp shorts and such like that....and listen to heavy metal...or hell even stuff like Black Sabbath...they would always say that u shouldn't do that....if pisses me off because they seem more of a cult than satanism....(not saying im satanist) but its ture.....thats why i stick to atheism :)
