How to lvl to 99 and make money

Enjoy the guide i know i didnt make it but i still took the time to format it for this forum
Well ive seen so many idiots asking stupid questions about how to level up, how to make money blah blah blah

so heres a great guide i found on the rsof written by Spaderdabomb (thanks alexispiggy for their name i forgot it) with alterations by me its based on legit training but if you cant figure out how to use rsbot with legit techniques gfto right now and do not continue reading

tips for getting 99s
***First tip***

One of the most important tips I have for you when achieving 99 in a stat is to stick with it. Most people probably don't realize how much time they waste when switching between skills. I like to go at least one to two weeks straight at a skill before switching to another.

If you think about it, it can take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes switching between a skill.....and now think about how many times you've switched between skills. Over 100 probably right? That's nearly 20 hours you wasted.

***Second tip***

While you are training try not to get side tracked with pk visits, mini-games that waste time and just not paying attention good enough. Tons of time is wasted talking to friends while you should still be picking those pockets of a very unfortunate....thing.....well whatever it may be your pickpocketing you are wasting your time. So limit your clan wars trips, mini-game trips and chatting frenzies!

***Third tip***

Make whatever you are doing as fun as possible. It's extremely helpful. Going to guilds such as World 22 Shilo fishing guild and other player made guilds rack in exp and you don't even know it. You get into a rhythm and don't even notice it. Also, everybody likes singing. Make a playlist on your computer that you know the lyrics to (make 10 songs or so) and just jam and practice singing while you do something boring. It's one of my favorite things to do and has REALLY helped me.

***Fourth tip***

Make sure you know what you're going for. Use my guide to calculate how much money you'll gain/lose to 99 and how long it will take you. It's important to know what you're up against before you go for it.

Those are some of the main tips.....another one is read my guide....It will help you I guarantee

Agility
_______________

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 25-43:

For these levels, go to the Skullball Course. I got a lot of questions where this was in my last guide so here is where it is.

It's in about the middle of the Mort Myre Swamp and is marked which an agility sign on the Runescape map. You will need to have done Priest in Peril and also Creature of Fenkenstrain because you'll need your Ring of Charos to access it.

Skullball is fairly fast exp once you get the hang of it, so don't give up after doing this game once or twice.

EXP GAIN: 15k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 43-48:

Go to the Brimhaven mini-game arena. At this level you begin racking up tickets quickly. Get 100 tickets and make sure you do obstacles while you wait for the arrows to change dispensers. If you do that you should have 49 agility after 100 tickets. Make sure to get Karamja gloves 2 by completing the medium achievement diary on Karamja. You get more exp per ticket if you do this.

EXP GAIN: 15-25k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 48-90:
Since the recent destruction of the Wilderness course's xp because of Revenants constantly attacking you, the Ape Atoll course becomes the best exp at level 48. At 75 agility, you will stop failing this course. It's extremely important that you use super energy potions at this course. It's also vital to have the Ape Atoll teleport accessible (gotten from doing Recipe For Disaster).At level 48, you will fail constantly, and it will annoy you a lot, but you should be getting over 30k exp per hour, which is definitely the best method out there for these levels.

Once you're lvl 75, using super energy pots, you can rack in over 50k exp per hour because you'll no longer fail this course! Once again, you must do Monkey Madness and have a ninja gree gree though to do this course.

EXP GAIN: 50k per hour (w/ super energies)

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -10k p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 49-?:

The Wilderness course used to be the definitive best resource of exp at these levels, but now that Revenants have been placed into the game, it's very difficult to manage this course. Use this as an alternative to the Ape Atoll course if you cannot access it for some reason.

It's not impossible, and is still far from that, You can still rack in great amounts of exp, probably up to 30k per hour if you're a bit lucky with Revenant spawns. Bring cakes, or other food to this course, a knife to get through spiderwebs, and if you're under 52 agility, bring an agility pot (drink it right before you enter to pass the first obstacle to get in).

If Revenants ever come close to you, or spawn near you, immediately switch worlds and continue going. On average, they bother you about every 5-10 minutes. Since switching worlds only takes 35 seconds, that's only 5 minutes per hour you're using, so it's still a great way to get exp if you cannot access Ape Atoll for some reason.

EXP GAIN: 28k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -5k p/h

~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 90-99:

Ok, it is extremely debatable for which course you should use, Ape Atoll or Doresh-Kaan? My answer used to be Ape Atoll, but I found otherwise while I tackled 99 agility myself.

Dorgesh-Kaan is faster exp, BUT ONLY once you are in the high 80s, and I wouldn't recommend it until 90. Ape Atoll MAXES at 53k xp per hour and Dorgesh-Kaan MAXES at 61k per hour. So Dorgesh-Kaan is absolutely better. One negative side to Dorgesh-kaan is that you'll end up spending about 1 mil more on super energies to 99 agility (about 1/3 more than ape atoll uses up).

This course can be, for some people, much more annoying than Ape Atoll. You won't be losing a lot if you chose Ape Atoll, but you definitely do lose 10-20 hours. At Dorgesh-Kaan, you're always asked to get an item for the goblin. Sometimes you can forget, and to help you remember, either type the first letter of the item you need, or place an item in a certain row of you inventory (the top inventory space could represent the power box, etc.)

EXP GAIN: 54-60k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -15k p/h

***SPEED***

This skill is probably a 4 on speed with fastest exp possible around 55k per hour.

***USES***

Recharges energy faster, lets you use shortcuts, big quest helper, and you can wield crystal bows/shields.

***COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS***

The barbarian outpost course is used a lot but is a waste of time, and it's slower then Skullball. The Agility Pyramid is also commonly thought as a good source of exp, but IS NOT.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATTACK/DEFENCE/STRENGTH/HP

***FAMILIARITY***

On a scale of 1-10 I'm about an 9 on this, seeing my combat is (lvl 124). My attack is 92, Strength is 94, Defence is 99, and Hp is 99.

***ITEMS***

There are tons of items and I cannot list them all. What I would recommend is buying the best armor you can afford and the best weapon you can afford (make sure it is a scimitar) unless you can a wield a whip. A whip is a must. I will have a "Perfect Pc Outfit" later in the guide.

***LVL 1-99***

Lvls 1-15:

I think cows would be best to start out, seeing as they drop nearly 150 coins each time you kill them because of their cowhides. They also have good hp for their lvl. Other things you can kill include goblins and "mans."
EXP GAIN: varies

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 15k per hour

~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 15-40:

If you are f2p, kill hill giants. If you are p2p, I really suggest killing rock crabs. Rock crabs are only lvl 13, but have 50 hp and are extremely good for training on. Rock crabs are located slightly northeast of the Fremennik Province (north of Seers' Village), or if you find that too crowded, if you have completed the Fremennik Trials quest, you can pay one of the people at the Fremennik Province's docks 1k to take you to Waterbirth Island, where there are rock crabs and almost always nobody there.

EXP GAIN: varies

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 5-20k (if you bank big bones) per hour

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 40-70:

For the quickest exp, I suggest experiments. They have 100 hp and extremely low def, so they are great to kill. They are located below the gravestone east of Dr. Fenkenstrain's Castle. Just push on it I believe to get in.

EXP GAIN: 40-80k per hour

Rock Crabs have low def and lots of hp so they're ideal to kill. They're located northeast of the Fremennik Province or if those are too crowded, there's some on Waterbirth

~ METHOD 3 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 40-70:

Baby blue dragons aren't the greatest, although they will give you a lot of prayer exp, seeing that each of their bones gives you 30 exp. These are located in the Taverley dungeon and you'll need the dusty key. To obtain the dusty key, you must first get to the chaos dwarves, then continue on straight until hopefully you find some jail cells. Then kill a jailor, pick up the key and unlock the jail cell. Talk to the man inside and you'll obtain a dusty key.

EXP GAIN: 20-35k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 60-99:

If you just want to own monsters and they don't happen to be in previous methods, here is a big fat list I'm going to compile for you. All of these monsters are great exp/money per hour off drops. You'll need to be at least lvl 80+ combat to do most of these though.

~~MONSTER LIST~~

(I will give each a rating 1 being medium exp, 10 the fastest exp, since all of these are fairly good exp)

Zombie monkeys (w/ salve ammy and pro from melee) (10)
Ankou (w/ salve ammy) (9)
Monkey Guards (near prayer alter in ape atoll) (9)
Dagonnoth* (9)
Experiments (8)
Bandits (8)
Yaks (8)
Bloodvelds (8)
Giant Spiders (8)
Trolls (near Fremennik Province) (7)
Abyssal demons (only if high lvled) (7)
Ogres (6)
Greater Demons (6)
Fire giants (6)
Lesser demons (5)
Dust Devils (5)
Jellies (4)

You may not fully agree with the numbers I have put up, but I know they're pretty accurate.

Those are just among some of them. Look to the next page for the best ones to kill and how to kill them properly.

All of these monsters will drop sufficient items and depending on your lvls, 40k-70k exp per hour. I recommend potting up because it's really worth it, even if it's a normal set instead of a super set.

Here are 5 monsters I've taken directly from the monsters list. I'll discuss them in best to worst order (although they're all great exp)

MONKEY ZOMBIES

Tele to ape atoll, go down the stairs next to you. If you don't tele to ape atoll, go into the temple with the lvl 169 monkey guards and the prayer alter. Make sure you have full prayer and are prepared to fight. There's a trapdoor on the eastern side of the room, go down it and you'll see some lvl 129 monkey zombies. YOU MUST HAVE A SALVE AMULET! This makes you hit insanely hard on them. Also, protect from melee is a must. To recharge it, just go up the stairs to the prayer alter nearby. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A MONKEY GREEGREE. Monkeys will trap you when you go up the ladder to recharge your prayer, so equip your greegree before you go up the ladder, and you won't be trapped when getting to the prayer alter.

EXP GAIN: 70-100k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -15k p/h

ANKOU

These are the second best source of combat exp in the game. They're found on the fourth floor of the Stronghold of Security (located in the Barbarian Village). It's very important to bring guthans as it takes a while to get down there. Also bring many super sets and a SALVE AMULET. If you do not have a salve amulet, you will not get good exp here. Also you get a good amount of money from drops from ankou.

EXP GAIN: 65-95k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 200k p/*

MONKEY GUARDS

Located in the temple of Ape Atoll, right next to the prayer alter. Using a whip with prayers is great exp, or using Dharoks with low hp (and pro from melee and prayers), Dharoks being preferred here. You can just stay with 1-2 hp with Dharoks and own these things like crazy. BEWARE!! There is a little spider that can poison you! It should be very easy to tell if you get poisoned because it sends you a message, so bring an anti-poison and stay at full focus when using Dharoks.

EXP GAIN: 60-90k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -15k p/h
DAGANNOTHS

Dagannoths are also great exp. They can get a bit crowded at times, but usually they aren't too crowded. They have extremely low defence and high hp. Put auto-retaliate on to get faster exp. They are located under the Lighthouse north of the Barbarian Outpost. They also drop fairly good seeds so you'll make a good profit off drops as well. You must complete "Horror from the Deep" to access these as well.

EXP GAIN: 55-85k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

BANDITS

Another great method. These are in the desert (bandit camp) and you'll need some type of "god" clothing (not guthix though) to get the bandits to auto attack you. These are great if you want to surf the forums or relax a bit. You'll need full guthans as well to do these effectively.
EXP GAIN: 40-70k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -15k p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls ?-99:

If you're a person who is going after total lvl like me, then this is the best option. Just simply do slayer. You get good creatures that give good drops, and also you get slayer lvls. Remember, you'll have all 99 in melee and range if you do slayer to 99, so you'll never run out of things to do by this method.

_______________
~ METHOD 3 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 80-99: (100 combat+)

Yep you guessed it.....cows.....no just kidding pest control.

Alright, I promised you a perfect pest control melee set and here it is.

Rune defender
Fighter Torso
Barrow's Gloves
Berserker Ring
Bandos Legs
Dragon Boots
Berzerker Helm/Fremennik Royal Helm (better def/prayer bonus)
Abyssal Whip
Fury Amulet
Fire Cape

And there it is. You are destined to get all of those items to hit the hardest, fastest and best.

Now, obviously you all are aware of the new update, and the bad news is in. The new pest control now is nearly 2x as slow as it used to be (unless you get the Void Knight Armor for the appropriate attack style you're using, which will bump up your hourly exp by 5k+). I know, disheartening and unfair, but that's just the way it is. Pest control really isn't effective anymore. It's a fun good game, but honestly there's tons better ways to get great exp. There's not as much of a need for a clan, now that you got those boats dividing you, but sometimes clans can still be very effective because they're more organized and have consistent times they leave to do a game and also usually contain better people than you'll just find floating on those boats. Anyways, all in all, pest control is just a mini-game now, not the best source of exp.

EXP GAIN: 45-70k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 10-30k per hour

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls ?-99:

You can also get combat experience by collecting charms for summoning. It's another multi-task method, but if you're looking to collect charms and get good exp, I'd either recommend doing slayer, OR, killing Waterfiends, Dust Devils, or Shadow Warriors. Waterfiends are best for charms, but worst for exp. Dust Devils are the best source of exp, but give 2x less the charms as waterfiends, and finally Shadow Warriors are slightly worse for charms than dust devils, but they're a good alternative if Dust Devils seem to be too hard for you.

***SPEED***

These skills are fairly quick, there's ways to earn a good 80k per hour in them if you use super sets and such. Probably a 6 on speed.

***USES***

There are unlimited uses with these skills....from boasting rights to slaying the hardest demons. I won't name the uses, most of them are known
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CONSTRUCTION

***FAMILIARITY***

I am pretty familiar with construction, probably a 9 on a scale of 1-10 and I'm lvl 70

***ITEMS***
You will be needing a saw, regular planks, oak planks, possibly other planks, nails, a hammer.......and a (censor)load of money.

***LVL 1-99***

Quests:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Level 5: Darkness of Hallowvale (2,000 xp)
Level 5: Eyes of Glouphrie (250 xp)
Level 10: Tower of Life (1,000 xp)
Level 20: Fremennik Isles (5,000 xp)
Level 30: Great Brain Robbery (2,000 xp)
Level 34: Cold War (1,500 xp)
Level 44: Catapult Construction (15,000 xp)

(ALL OF THESE OPTIONS ARE # 1 METHOD SEEING THERE AREN'T ANY OTHER REASONABLE ALTERNATIVES

Please note: It takes 146 planks to get to where you start using oak planks, but make 160 or so just in case you mess up somehow.

Lvls 1-9:

Make chairs out of regular planks (for these first lvls when using regular planks, make your own because it's too hard to buy from other players)

Lvls 9-19:

Larders require regular planks but take up 8 planks at a time, so obviously these are faster than chairs...

Lvls 19-22:

Ok now you can begin making oak things. On all oak things you get 60 exp per oak plank no matter how many you use at a time. Make oak chairs for these levels and I really suggest you buy your planks (unless you can't find a way to make more then 100k per hour because that's what you save when you make your own planks)

Lvls 23-31:

Start making oak tables at this lvl, seeing that it's faster exp because you use more planks at a time.

Lvls 31-33:
Make some carved oak tables. These are faster because they take 6 planks instead of normal oak tables which take 4.
Lvls 33-73:

Oak larders are great exp, and the best till dungeon doors. You can get 170k exp per hour IF you bring noted oak planks with you to your house. Use your oak planks on the butler you have (get the best butler you can get), and use them on him. You will then skip all the talking and the demon butler will bring you oak planks much much faster than just talking to him about it. Bring all of your oak planks noted.

EXP GAIN: 170k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -1700k per hour

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 74-99:

Once again remember to bring all of your oak planks noted to skip the dialogue with your butler to increase your potential exp per hour.

There's another method you should use once you hit 73. Dungeon doors require 10 oak planks to make them, and a common mistake people think is that these are slower because you can make 3 oak larders (24 oak planks used) vs. only 20 per inventory on dungeon doors. This is a mistake because if you are using a DEMON BUTLER (must use) there is no waiting time in between making them and collecting planks from the demon butler. It's been said this can get up to 50k more exp per hour.

EXP GAIN: 250k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -2500k per hour

***SPEED***

This skill is probably a 9 on a scale of 1-10 although it's extremely expensive which is why it is hard.

***USES***

Construction can be used to have house parties and HAS ONE OF THE BEST USES IN THE GAME which is the prayer alter and incense burners. The best alter will give you 3.5x the prayer xp for bones which is by far the best way to get prayer exp in the game.

***COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS***

Making your own planks only save you 170k per hour. That means if you have no other way in all of Runescape to make 170k+ cash per hour, then YOU SHOULD make your own planks. If you can earn 170k+ per hour though, you SHOULD NOT make your own planks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COOKING

***FAMILIARITY***

I'd say am very familiar with cooking, and probably a 9 on a scale of 1-10. My cooking lvl is 88.

***ITEMS***

You'll need lots of fishies, cooking gauntlets and maybe a tinderbox and an axe.

***LVL 1-99***

Quests:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Level 1: Gertrude's Cat (1,525 xp)
Level 1: Cook's Assistant (300 xp)
Level 1: Rag and Bone Man (500 xp)
Level 22: Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf (5,000 xp)
Level 30: Tai Bwo Wannai Trio (5,000 xp)
Level 30: Big Chompy Bird Hunting (1,470 xp)
Level 53: Hero's Quest (2,825 xp)
Level 70: Recipe for Disaster (28,000 xp)

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-40:

For these first lvls, I really suggest fishing your own fish and cooking it. It doesn't take that long and will also get you good fishing exp. This is what I did.

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 20-40:

You could just buy your fish from other people (trout/salmon). This would be the only other known method to me and I don't really recommend it, but it could be faster if you don't want to train your fishing at all.

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvl 40-86:

Ok for these lvls if you aren't just going to fish your own food to cook (Which I still recommend if you want but it's not as necessary as before) I'd recommend buying lobsters. Lobsters are great and I recommend them all the way through lvl 86. Once you hit 86 you hardly ever burn monkfish (stop at 90 cooking gaunts have no effect on these).

With cooking gauntlets (gotten from family crest quest) you will stop burning lobsters at lvl 68 cooking I believe.

EXP GAIN: 155k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -40k p/h_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 40-?:

You may burn a lot of lobsters at lvl 40, so It's always a great option to buy some salmon or trout and cook them for a bit (maybe around lvl 55)

An easy way to get raw salmon/trout it go to a f2p world and usually in Varrock bank somebody will be selling A LOT! Of course there also is the grand exchange that you can use.

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 86-90/94:

Monkfish are the best way to go here. At 90 you stop burning them (even without cooking gauntlets) and on these you lose hardly anything with these (if you're lucky you can buy/sell for same price). At 90 cooking, you don't burn many sharks anymore, so that'd be the most time efficient way, but you'll lose a little less money if you use monks till 94.

EXP GAIN: 195k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -70k p/h

Lvls 90/94-99:

Now I'd definitely go with sharks until lvl 99. You'll end up losing a little bit of money because they sell more raw then cooked, but it's still extremely fast and you won't burn any at lvl 94 with cooking gauntlets. I suggest it at lvl 90 also, although you'll burn some resulting in some money loss, but they are way faster then other methods such as monkfish and lobsters so the time really makes up for the loss in money.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!!

If you ever cook mass amount of fish, the best place to cook them is definitely the rogues den (under the bar in Burthorpe) There is an everlasting fire literally 2 spaces from the bank and it's obviously the best place to cook food.

If you've completed the Achievement Diary, there's also a bank right next to a cooking stove right next to the bank in the Cooking Guild. You won't burn things quite as much here, so it'd be a great idea if you were cooking sharks around level 90 to try this area out.

***SPEED***

Cooking is very fast, probably a 10. Other skills can be faster, but they cost tons of money. It's hard to rival sharks 260k+ exp per hour though. There's a reason 20 people have 200 mil cooking xp.

***USES***

Without cooking I don't know what Runescape would be. No food, no mass killing. Very important skill and you can earn some money from fishing/cooking food.

~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 57-66/99:

There are so many options for crafting, but all so hard. This one to me seems best though. Getting green d hides (if you want to save some money, but lose a little time, tan them yourself) and crafting them into whatever you can. Craft vambraces until green bodies. Green bodies get you the quickest exp and saves the most money. If you happen to do green vambs, be prepared to lose more money than you'd expect. I'd suggest high alcing these.

Since I'm a pro at this because I have lvl 99 (I know, so modest), I'm going to discuss some other things. If you can make around 300k+ per hour somehow, I would recommend not tanning them yourself and buying leathers. Otherwise, buy hides and tan yourself. Green d leathers you can buy for 1.9k ea easily, and using this method you'll probably lose a bit more time and save a bit more money over doing blue leathers to 99.

So all in all, do green vambs from 57-63, and then do green bodies to at least 66. I'd recommend doing green bodies through level 99 though, over blue bodies as it's more expensive.

Tanning them yourself:

EXP GAIN: 110k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -400k p/h

Lvls 57-?:

For a second option, spin flax once again. At this level it really becomes slow exp but it's very convenient when getting exp and not losing out on a bunch of cash. You can go to whatever lvl you wish, I just wouldn't recommend going over 70 doing it this way.

Lvls 71-99:

With the new unbalanced trades no longer possible, hiring runners is no longer possible. Now you either have to tan blue d hides yourself or buy blue leather straight off the market. From my experience, I am not going to recommend this to you, especially without runners. Blue d hides were possible to buy in mass amounts, but blue d leather is virtually impossible to do so. You can try it out yourself with the grand exchange though.

All in all, this method could be better than green d hides if you are tanning them yourself, which is probably what the majority of players do. This is faster but slightly more expensive than green d hides, but green d hides are extremely easy to buy, whereas blue d hides are much tougher. Obviously since this is method 2, I'm recommending green d hides over this, but if you call yourself a good merchant/trader, then maybe blue d hides are the way to go for you!

If you buy already tanned hides:

EXP GAIN: 310k

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -1600k p/h

If you buy untanned:

EXP GAIN: 140k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -250k p/h

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-31:

===0BTAINING YOUR SEEDS===

Most people trying to raise they're farming always stop because they can't find enough seeds! At early levels, you should use 1,2, or all 3 of the following types of seeds. Tree, vegetable and herb seeds.

VEGETABLE: You'll be starting with potato seeds. My # 1 suggested way to get some is just buying them from the grand exchange. It's pretty easy to do so, you'll probably need 20kis* to start out. While you're at the grand exchange, buy about 50 potato seeds, 100 onion seeds and 200 cabbage seeds. If you don't want to spend any money, master farmers are the other option if you have 38 thieving.

HERB SEEDS: Most herb seeds you make a profit from, so don't be afraid to buy them from players! Once again, I'd suggest going to the grand exchange and buy guam seeds and tarromin seeds. I wouldn't suggest marrentill because nobody buys the herb.

(continued on next page)
TREE SEEDS: Miscellania is a great place to get tons of these. It requires the completion of Royal Trouble for it to be effective. Simply put all workers on maples and half on flax. You can't get all your seeds from here though, so you'll have to once again buy from the grand exchange. In the beginning, just buy acorns. They're very cheap and give great exp.

I would recommend using all 3 of these. Use acorns when you can and revert to the next part of the guide about maintaining your crops and details on that.

Use your potato seeds to start out. You have a few options when looking after plants so they don't die. You can plant flowers and when they are fully grown they will protect a certain type of vegetable. Another method is paying farmers to watch them. (Flowers only work for vegetables) And lastly you can watch them yourself.

My favorite way is the flowers way for raising vegetables. I'd suggest when starting to just plant a marigold seed and watch over it for 15 minutes while it grows.

Once it grows it will never die. Now you can plant your potatoes, and onions. They won't die if you have a marigold fully grown in the patch, so you can plant them, leave em be for an hour and then come back and harvest.

Once you get to cabbages you have to plant a new flower to protect them which is a rosemary. Do the same thing with these.

To protect tomatoes go back to marigolds (look at your mini-guide on runescape for what the flowers protect)

Allotment patches are in Falador and Catherby. They're both fairly close to a tele-spot so I'd recommend just using these two in the beginning. Farming always seems hard, but you're just doing it to yourself! Don't get down on yourself if a crop dies. Plant it and move on, it's not a big deal. Also make sure you have something you can do in between

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 31-45:

Farming begins getting hard in these lvls. You will either need tree seeds, herb seeds or higher lvl vegetable seeds to grow fast.

Cabbage and up is fine for vegetable seeds but I really recommend planting the best ones, for it will go much much faster. I got all the way from around 15 through 45 with cabbage seeds though, and it worked fine.

Next the herb seeds. Once you rise in lvl, you'll find herb seeds becoming more and more beneficial. SNAPDRAGON AND RANARR seeds are recommended, giving you a huge profit as well as exp. ALSO use Trollheim patch (your herbs never die.) You can typically visit all 5 herb patches in about 20 minutes. If you use watermelon s
eeds, you can profit 100-150k per run and get nearly 11k exp (given you use your own watermelons for creating your own supercompost).

Tree seeds are also great if you have a little extra cash on your hands....definitely the fastest method so just buy the best ones you can afford and pay the farmers to watch them. AT LEVEL 39, I really suggest starting in with orange trees. Apples are cheap and I'd recommend for the earlier level to pay the farmer to watch over them. Save your oranges for maples later!

NOTE:

Lunar spells can help out when doing farm runs. Simply get tele tabs for regular spells and use some of the lunar teles to get to certain farm patches faster.

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 45-99:

Ok for these last 54 fairly hard lvls, you'll be wanting to do either tree seeds and/or herb seeds and cal*uats. Vegetable seeds are no longer worth it (even watermelons). Tree seeds are the most practical way to go, but herb seeds can be good from 60-80, but after that, it really is too slow exp.

~~~# 1 WAY TO GO~~~
Tree seeds are the best way to go. They're fast, although quite expensive but the only probable way to go to 99. Here's more info on tree seeds.
Lvls 45-59: Use Maple and Orange seeds (buy maples 30k ea and oranges 5k ea)
Lvls 59-85: Use Maple and Papaya seeds (buy maples 35k ea and Papaya seeds 35k ea)
Lvls 85-99: Use Yew and Palms seeds (buy yews 60k ea and palms 70k ea)
===The Farm Run===
TIPS: Pay farmers except for Calquat, Palm and Yew seeds! The Grand Tree stocks oranges, so stock up on those there for maples. Arhein in Catherby gives you 40 pineapples per day for a 2 gp ea, so include this in your farm run! Also, you can note payments, like pineapples to save inventory space and finally, pay farmers to cut down your trees for 200 gp each, it saves tons of time!
Get all your materials, and line them up in your bank. You'll need 1 mage log, 5 tree saplings, 4 fruit tree saplings, 1 calquat sapling (make sure you pre-plant these before all your farm runs), wcing axe, Karamja gloves (3), a dueling ring, 5 laws, 2 earths, 1 water and 1 fire rune, 5k and an air staff. Make sure to pay farmers to cut down your trees.
1) Tele to Varrock, go north and plant your tree seed
2) Tele to Falador, go east and do the same
3) Tele to Lumbridge, go west, do the same
4) Tele to your house in Taverley (move it there), go east and do the same.
5) Tele to Cammy, go east and plant your fruit tree seed.
6) Tele to Cwars using a dueling ring and balloon to the Tree Gnome Stronghold (Enlightened Journey quest required, if you can't do this, tele to Al-kharid using a glory and gnome glide it there)
7) Plant your fruit tree in the southern patch, then run southwest to plant another regular tree seed.
8) Run Back to the spirit tree, use it to tele to the Tree Gnome Village
9) Have Elkoy take you through the maze, then plant your fruit tree seed in the patch southwest of the entrance.
10) Use Karamja gloves (3) to tele to Shilo village, then take the cart to Brimhaven and plant your last fruit seed. Then run south and plant your Calquat seed in Tai Bwo Village, southeast of the general store.
So, try to follow this farm run as closely as possible. That is the fastest way to do it, although variations are acceptable. Next I have the herb run for you.
===THE HERB RUN===
This run is much more simple than the tree run. Bring 3 super energy potions, an ectophial, a glory amulet, a ghostspeak amulet, 5 law runes, 2 fire runes, 2 water runes,
and make sure you store plenty of supercompost, magic secateurs, a seed dibber, and a spade. It's optional to use watermelon seeds. I don't think they give you a profit and they give fairly limited xp, so I wouldn't bother with them.
The best herb seeds to farm are snapdragon and ranarr. I wouldn't recommend snapdragon until 70+ farming.
1) Empty your ectophial, and get a new one by using the empty ectophial with the ectofuntus. Then quickly run west to the farming patch and plant/harvest your herbs.
2) Tele to Draynor with your glory, and head northwest to the herb patch. Plant/harvest.
3) Tele to Ardougne, head east, and then north to the farm patch. Plant/harvest.
4) Tele to Camelot, head east and plant and harvest.
5) Tele to Trollheim. You must have completed My Arm's Big Adventure to use this farm patch. You'll know where it is if you have completed that quest.
***SPEED***
Fairly slow skill although tree seeds earn you quite fast exp, I'd say a 3 on a scale of 1-10
***USES***
Yes farming has some uses. It benefits herblore a lot, and also you can use/plant spirit tree.
It's best to do willows through level 45, then do maples, but if you want a cheap way to 99, willows are the way to go. So this is the best method through lvls 45, not 99. Seeing
that cutting willows is among fastest exp for woodcutting, it's a great way to get some free logs to burn while getting very fast woodcutting exp. So you have that option.
Another way is to go into some f2p and buy willow logs from a general store and burn them. You will only need around 1.8 mil to get to 99 doing it this way and you'll get around 1.2k exp per minute this way....so it's cheap and fairly fast.
You also have the option of maple logs for these lvls. This is definitely a more efficient way to reach level 99 firemaking. If you earn between 80-500k cash per hour, (which is most of you out there) this is the most time efficient way to get 99 firemaking.
EXP GAIN: 155k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -50k p/h
If you have all ever heard of a kingdom in Miscellania then that is one great way to get 99 firemaking.
For those of you who don't know what it is, you can get NPC's to work for you and gather maple logs and flax for you.....and for a price of course.
You are supposed to put money into a bank account there for your workers, and the more money in there, the more maple logs/flax you'll get....Overall you usually get a profit
NOTE: Make sure your favour is at 100% so they get maximum logs/flax for you.
Alright, so if you put around 1.5 mil into your account there and keep updating your account week to week making sure it has at least 1.5 mil to start out every week and also you'll need 100% favour at the beginning of every week, you'll earn yourself a lot of logs....
You can tell the workers to get more maple logs than flax for you if you want. You can get around 8k maple logs per week and then from the other supplies your workers give you (around 3k flax and 500k worth of seeds) you'll hopefully be able to upkeep your money by selling the tree seeds and flax to other players. 3k flax right now is about160k. You get 500k in tree seeds (660k total), and then also about 40 bird nests (740k total), so as you can see, you lose 10k per week, but other than that it's free lvl 99 firemaking.
So if that wasn't confusing enough, you can get lots of maple logs easily that way.
Yews are great to 99 if you can earn 500k+ (cash) per hour. If you can do that, yews are more time efficient than maples and this is what I'm doing because I have 91 rcing (1.2 mil cash per hour)
===IMPORTANT NOTE===
To make your firemaking as quick as possible, I have two little tips for you. If you're a little on the lazy side, firemaking in Varrock and teleing to the fountain, burning your
logs (which puts you right in front of the bank), banking and repeating saves several hours.
If you aren't lazy, you may notice there's a given time between each log you light. If you go to the G.E., there's 4 rows of spaces you can firemake in. Light half of your inventory of logs normally, but for the second half, in between lighting each log take 2 steps towards the bank and make another fire. Your character auto-walks west after you make a fire, but there's just enough time to run 2 spaces and light another fire before you waste any time! Then you're right in front of the bank after the other half inventory. It's a hard technique to perfect, but it saves you nearly 7 seconds per inventory! I've timed it!
EXP GAIN: 230k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -400k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
Lvls 35-99:
Combo skilling with teaks is actually the most efficient way to get both 99 woodcutting and firemaking. If you add up the hours and money lost getting 99 woodcutting and firemaking with the other number 1 methods, you'd need to somehow earn 1.5 mil+ cash per hour for combo skilling with teaks not to be better. In other words, this is the best method because doubling nats is no longer quite 1.5 mil per hour.
The best place to do this is the Kharazi Jungle. Bring an axe, a tinderbox and chop till you have a full inventory. Then burn them.
EXP GAIN: 30-35k per hour (+25-30k per hour woodcutting exp)
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h
***SPEED***
Firemaking is one of the fastest skills in the game. If you use maple logs from your
kingdom, you'll get around 3k exp per minute, so I'm rating this a 9 out of 10 on speed.
This method of fishing not only gets you 5k+ more exp per hour than fly fishing in Shilo Village, it also gives 1/11 of the exp you get in fishing to agility and strength! That's over 1 mil exp in both skills to 99 fishing! Make sure to bring a knife with you to cut up your fish into bait. It disposes of them in your inventory very quickly and gives you 10 xp per fish you cut into bait. As you can see, this method of fishing, in all, is way better than fly fishing.
EXP GAIN: 45-55k per hour (plus 2.5k agility and strength xp)
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 48-99:
This method is better than lobsters in my opinion for F2p and also p2p. Fly fishing in Shilo Village (or the Barbarian Village if you are F2p, or cannot access Shilo Village for some reason), is just behind heavy rod fishing in exp per hour once you hit lvl 48. If you're fishing in Shilo, there is a player made guild in world 22 you can have fun in. Bank all your fish you get, unless you're training at the Barbarian Village. If you are training there, drop all of your fish because it's definitely not worth it to bank all the way from there.
EXP GAIN: 40-45k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 15k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 3 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 40-62:
If you want just a bit of money, but a much slower method, fish lobsters. If you're f2p you can't really earn money, but you can still fish them on Karamja. If you're p2p though, fish in Catherby and bank.
EXP GAIN: 20k-25k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 50k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 3 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 62-99:
Once you hit 62, never again should you do lobsters, so this respectively becomes the number 3 method. Catching monkfish is the course many people take to 99 fishing, mainly because it earns close to 25 mil cash. It's not great exp, but it's not bad either
coming in at around 35k per hour. This method is actually the most efficient method time wise if you are not able to earn 250k cash per hour somehow. If you make less than 250k per hour, this is definitely the best method for you.
Also remember fishing monkfish requires the completion of the quest Swan Song. I found this quest to be pretty difficult at level 80 combat, so if you're not able to do that quest, either fly fish or heavy rod fish, and I guess if you want to make some cash and fish, you can do lobsters.
EXP GAIN: 35k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 85k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 4 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 62-99:
Coming in on my number 4 method is lobster fishing. I really don't recommend this way all that much because if you can do SWAN SONG you really should do it....monkfish are worth every bit of it.
Lobsters get you a mere 25k per hour compared to monkfish's 35k per hour (at least that's what I average) and monkfish get you nearly 75k more per hour in money. But many people can't do Swan Song and don't want to do Shilo Village fishing because they want to earn money, and then I would say I recommend this to you.....lobster fishing that is.
EXP GAIN: 20k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 50k p/h
***SPEED***
I would say this scale is a 4 on a scale of one to 10, because you can get actually pretty fast exp at Shilo Village fishing.....other ways might be more like a 3.
(continued on next page)
***USES***
Well fishing is a very important skill, giving us the option to last longer in combat and fish things for our neighborly friends in Runescape quests. It will also give you a fairly good money source.
***COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS***
I DO NOT RECOMMEND SHARKS AT ANY TIME IN RUNESCAPE!!!
Sharks are pretty much a waste of time. If you have the fishing level for them, you'll find yourself not getting much more than 15k exp per hour, and hardly 150k cash per hour. If you're experienced enough to have this kind of fishing level, there's no way that you can only earn 150k cash per hour. Just go tan d hides if you really want money, or something like that.
I'm not saying you shouldn't do these just to relax, I'm saying if you're trying to be efficient, these aren't the best.
FLETCHING
***FAMILIARITY***
Seeing this is at lvl 99 (woot woot) a 10
***ITEMS***
Knife, logs, bowstrings and that's about it.
***LVL 1-99***
Quests:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Level 1: Temple of Ikov (8,000 xp)
Level 1: Animal Magnetism (1,000 xp)
Level 5: Big Chompy Bird Hunting (262 xp)
Level 30: Zogre Flesh Eaters (2,000 xp)
For all the (u) bows you make, sell them to a charter ship, you will get the most money back from those.
Lvls 1-5:
Chop some regular trees and turn the logs into arrow shafts with your knife.
Lvls 5-10:
DO NOT STRING ANY BOWS UNTIL YEW LONGBOWS!
Make normal short bows (u) (or continue with arrows shafts since they give the same exp)
Lvls 10-20:
Make normal longbows (u)
Lvls 20-25:
Make oak short bows (u)
Lvls 25-35:
Make oak long bows (u)
Lvls 35-40:
Make some willow short bows
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 40-55:
If you're going to cut your logs, willows are the way to go all the way through 70. Yew shorts aren't good because you lose out on a lot of money and maples aren't good because they're too slow to cut and you get more exp cutting/fletching willows. If you're buying logs though, just do these to 55.
EXP GAIN: 60k per hour
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 55-70:
Now Karamja gloves don't work anymore for the charter ships on Karamja, so you don't profit much anymore with maples. But anyways, these are great to get exp on at these lvls if you're just completely focusing on fletching and not woodcutting your logs as well.
EXP GAIN: 83k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS:
I WOULD NOT SUGGEST AT ANY TIME YOU MAKE YEW SHORTBOWS.
It is simply a waste of time and money to make yew short bows, seeing you can't sell them to other players or high alc them for a good price.
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 70-85:
Now that Jagex has removed the quick stringing process from the game, which I'm sad to hear because fletching no longer has any skill to it, you only have to do yew longs till 85. They also removed the ability to trade supplies for yew longs at the fletching guild! (world 132). Sadly, this will no longer be a good place to trade materials, but it will still be a fun spot to hang out. If you didn't know, you cannot trade for a differential of a max of 30k according to the grand exchange prices, so basically it's impossible to trade mass amounts of things.
Anyways, buy yew logs for about 350 each and cut them with your knife into yew longs (u). Now just withdraw 14 bowstrings and 14 yew longs (u), their order doesn't matter anymore because of the newly added "x" string.
EXP GAIN: 130k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 130k p/h
QUICK BANKING/STRINGING PROCESS
I feel a need to add this in, in place of the stringing process that I once had
1) Have your yew longs (u) and bowstrings on the right side of your bank. You can't have them on the bottom corner (which would be better) because the bank auto moves your bank view when you exit out of it. You should have these on the right side of your bank because it's closer to your inventory which means less time moving your mouse back and forth between bank and inventory.
2) Now after you string one inventory of longbows, you can try out a little trick. Open up your bank and then withdraw "all" on bowstring, then you'll have 14 bowstrings and 14 longbows. Now deposit your longbows and then withdraw "all" on longbows (u). You'll then have 14 longbows (u) and 14 bowstrings. Then choose string "x" and have your finger ready on the "2" button and press is twice as fast as you can once the screen comes up asking you how many to make. You can have your finger on any number 2 or greater, it doesn't matter unless it's 1.....Hopefully you get what I mean.
3) String in castle wars because its a one click bank, so as soon as you're finished stringing, just click the chest and repeat.
Just a few little tips that might increase the speed of each inventory by 2 or 3 seconds (which adds up quick).
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 85-99:
The updates to limiting trade have affected the fletching guild, in which yew longs trading for supplies is no longer possible. That is why you definitely should be doing mage longs to 99.
Now, the best way would be to go about buying mage longs (u) from the grand exchange. They're not the easiest thing to buy, but you definitely can do it, and mage longs (u) happen to be less expensive than normal mage logs! That means you can profit off these, and if you didn't know, you get faster exp while stringing bows versus cutting them. Cutting is about 160k per hour, stringing is closer to 205k per hour (exp). So it's a worthwhile time investment to try and buy your mage longs unstrung.
EXP GAIN: 160-205k per hour (depends on stringing/cutting)
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h
***SPEED***
This has now slowed to maybe an 8 on a scale of 1-10. It's still fast and now is very relaxing to do though.
***USES***
Where would this world be without bows? The skill is useful and can earn you a fair amount of money.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HERBLORE
***FAMILIARITY***
I'm not the best at herblore and not the most familiar so probably a 7 on a scale of 1-10....my lvl is 59.
***ITEMS***
Tons and tons of herbs, 2nds and water filled vials. Pestle and mortar and many more items I will mention in the course of your training (below)
***LVL 1-99***
Quests:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Level 1: Druidic Ritual (250 xp)
Level 3: Jungle Potion (750 xp)
Level 3: Recruitment Drive (1,000 xp)
Level 10: Digsite Quest (2,000 xp)
Level 15: Shades of Mort'ton (2,000 xp)
Level 25: Heroes' Quest (1,325 xp)
Level 31: Eadgar's Ruse (11,000 xp)
Level 31: My Arm's Big Adventure (10,000 xp)
Level 37: Land of the Goblins (3,000 xp)
Level 52: Grim Tales (5,000 xp)
Level 57: A Fairy Tale Part II (3,500 xp)
You must do a quest named "Druidic Ritual" to begin this skill. It will get you to lvl 3 which is where your training will begin.......
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 3-38:
Alright everybody, herblore is a very confusing and hard skill to train, not to mention it can be very expensive as well. My goal is to limit all 3 of those variables to a minimum.
From these lvls, you have 2 main choices. One, you can kill things to get your herbs, or two, buy all your herbs. If you want to not spend money and get your herbs yourself, then look ahead to the details on Chaos Druids. This obviously will take much more time than buying your own herbs though. (following chaos druid details are details on buying your herbs and supplies).
~~~CHAOS DRUIDS~~~

These play a huge roll in raising herblore. The best place to kill them is in the Taverly dungeon. They're low lvl and they drop herbs almost every time you kill one. Bank all herbs in Falador and you'll hopefully see your herblore lvl rise quick!

NOTE: If you are combat lvl 90+, go to yanille dungeon (with a knife) and kill Chaos Druid Warriors because they're closer to a bank and drop better herbs. Chaos Druid Warriors (this will resemble regular Chaos Druids as well). You can see the types of herbs you will get in 1 hour.

--Herbs gained--(if sold at G.E prices)

Guam--------19 : 9,101gp
Marrentill-----10 : 1,930gp
Tarromin----15 : 6,870gp
Harralander----7 : 6,566gp
Cadantine--4 : 3,396gp
Irit--------------9 : 9,513gp
Ranarr---------9 : 46,809gp
Kwuarm--------5 : 15,350gp
Dwarf-weed---2 : 4,222gp
Lantadyme----3 : 4,872gp
Avantoe--------1 : 1,020gp

Total----------- 109,649gp

If you choose this method as raising your herblore to start, I would recommend starting out killing them for 2 hours and banking all the herbs you get. You will now have enough herbs for approximately 18 herblore. Once you get all of your herbs, go over to the grand exchange and buy some 2nds and water filled vials. If you are level 3 herblore still, buy about 60 eyes of the newts (you will use the rest later on), 600 water filled vials, and about 60 limpwurt roots. If you make your anti-poison pots, collect your own unicorn horns if you don't have much cash. As you run out of 2nds and get more herbs, go back and restock on 2nds. 500 vials is about the amount, though, that you'll need for 38 herblore. Also, once you get to making energy pots, also buy chocolate dust.

All in all, I've calculated you will have to spend 16 hours to reach 38 herblore. I told you it definitely is a slow approach, but now the good news. If you sell the herbs you can't use and only use Tarromin, Marrentill, Guam, and Harralander, you'll earn 1.3 milish.

So with all that said, this method is for those of you who lack cash and are having trouble raising your herblore. It's just the simple kill monsters and collect herbs and make your potions.

This isn't the recommended way though, I'd recommend what comes next. If you do have cash to spend (well not that much) then you should take the route of buying everything. Here's a brief summary.

Attack potions: Buy guam leaves (cleaned) for about 210 each at the grand exchange. Buy eyes of the newt for about 50 each at the grand exchange, and finally buy water filled vials for 100 each at the grand exchange. You can sell each attack potion (3) for about 280 gp at the grand exchange, so you are losing in all 80 gp per pot! Not so bad (although regular attack potions tend to be hard to sell in mass amounts, but you won't be making a ton anyways).
You can make about 1200 of these to reach lvl 38. That would net you a loss of 96k in total, and would hardly take over an hour and half. So this is probably the best way to tackle 38 herblore (even though you're making the easiest potion in the game!)

Energy potions: The only other reasonable potion I see between level 3 and 38 is an energy potion. These tend to be way easier to sell than attack potions, so if you're having trouble selling your attack potions to start, try this one. You need level 26 to make these, which is about 350 attack potions. You'll lose about 30k or so to level to 26 from attack pots. You can buy chocolate dust for like 250 each in the grand exchange, water filled vials for 100 each and harralander for 750 each, and finally sell them for about 300 each. Obviously a huge loss in profit compared to attack pots (800 loss per, and from 26-38, you lose about 260k). So once again, much more expensive, but easier and faster.
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~

Lvls 38-99: Before I tell you the method you should use to raise your level from here, I'm going to lay all the reasonable options to 99 in detail, and from there I'll tell you which one to use.

RE: Your guide to runescape skills and 99s! (and big $$!!!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HUNTER

***FAMILIARITY***

I learned a lot when I was trying to be number 1 (which kinda failed lol), and was listening to everybody's feedback and have now complied this guide. I was ranked around 300th at one point, but anyways my lvl is 83 and probably a 9 on familiarity.

***ITEMS***

Box traps, small nets, ropes, bird snares, butterfly net, 20 butterfly jars and possibly some camo for certain types of hunting.

***LVL 1-99***

Quests:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Level 27: Eagle's Peak (2,500 xp)
Level 48: As a First Resort (15,000 xp)

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-15:

I'd really suggest sticking with Crimson Swifts through these lvls. Note that this will be very frustrating to start out but will get better. You'll need bird snares for these lvls. Crimson Swifts are in the very southeast of the Feldip Hills hunter area, south of Yanille.

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls: 1-15

Another approach are polar kebbits. I think they give slightly less exp than crimson swifts, but are a little less frustrating. They're in the polar region, (north of Fremennik Province) bring a noose and that's it.

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 15-29:

Grab your butterfly jars and net and head over to the woodlands, northwest of Tree Gnome Stronghold. I personally think butterflies are the fastest exp at this lvl, although many people may disagree. I get around 250 exp per minute here, and couldn't find a way to get any more any other way at this lvl. Also, a tip is try to a find a spawn of one and go into a crowded world so they spawn fast, then you won't mis-click often.

EXP GAIN: 15k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 19-29

Tropical wagtails are also very good, coming in probably only 2-3k less exp per hour than butterflies. They're located in the Feldip Hills hunter area (just south of Yanille).

EXP GAIN: 11k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 29-43:

Lizards and salamanders are among the best exp in the game and you can start at lvl 29. Go into Mort Myre swamp and bring along 4 small nets (purchased at Port Sarim) and 4 ropes. YOU DO NOT NEED BAIT, although you should use a torch to smoke the trap (when you can). To do that light a torch bought at a hunter shop by using a tinderbox on it. Then just right click on trap once it's set up and do "smoke" trap. Also note that you must complete Priest in Peril to get to this area.

EXP GAIN: 20-30k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 29-43:

You could continue catching the best type of bird you're able to catch. It'll probably end up being about 5k less exp per hour than lizards though.

_______________
~ METHOD 3 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 29-43:

The method I chose that works perfectly fine is going to polar region and catching butterflies with your net there. I could average around 300 exp a minute there.

EXP GAIN: 18k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~

Lvls 43-47:

Go up to the falconry near the woodland northwest of Tree Gnome Stronghold and bring 500 gp. Go into the falconry and talk to the bird man. He will give you a falcon for 500 gp, and then you can start catching kebbits. These get nearly 800 exp per minute and maybe slightly more if you are good.

EXP GAIN: 40k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 47-59:

Grab your 4 nets and ropes and head out on into the desert. Bring some desert clothes (this is Shantay Pass we're talking about) and 10 waterskins (or an enchanted water tiara from the quest "Dealing with Scabaras" . Head east past the bridge and you'll see a hunting area. I get around 900 or more exp a minute at this place and it's great training. Hunt orange salamanders.

EXP GAIN: 55k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 47-59:

Staying at falconry is slightly slower than orange sallys while catching spotted kebbits.

EXP GAIN: 40k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 59-63/69:

DO NOT, do red salamanders. It has been tested and proven that orange ones are faster! (see last page for exp rate). Red lizards have no money benefit really, so do orange salamanders!

Actually I should add at lvl 69 reds do start becoming faster than orange ones, so if you're after exp start in with reds at 69. I would highly recommend doing salamanders passed level 69, (start in with reds at 69) because red chinchompas have gotten overcrowded, and before level 70, you stand no chance against other hunters, and in turn it results in horrible xp.

EXP GAIN: 60k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 63/69-80:

Starting at lvl 63 you can get red chinchompas. You can make over 150k (up to 300k) per hour now at chinchompas (sell 600 each). So that's a great reason to do them. There are 3 spots you can hunt these, the northern one is the best, the western is 2nd best, and the southern one is the worst. There's lots of competition, which is why I wouldn't recommend doing these until at least level 69.

EXP GAIN: 40-65k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 130-190k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 69-80:

Red salamanders, like I said earlier become faster at lvl 69 so do those when you achieve 69 for maximum exp rates. Although if you're after money, do red chinchompas. If you have the ability to earn over 600k cash per hour, it's more efficient to do red salamanders over red chinchompas all the way until level 80.

EXP GAIN: 70k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 0 p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~

Lvls 80-99:

Red Chinchompas all the way from lvl 80-99. You make a great profit and also you get well over 1k exp a minute. At this point, I would recommend doing the "X" formation with your 5 box traps. It's best to use the northern spot, and set up your bottom right leg of the "X" 1 space northeast of the fern there. That is where your traps will be most nearest to all of the red chinchompa spawns. Another tip I have for you is to bring some kind of ranging device (bone bolts work fine), and keep a steady eye out for what the red chinchompas are doing. If they spawn and don't go for one of your traps within 5 seconds, kill them. They spawn fast, and sometimes they run away for several minutes. Keeping them close really helps your exp, and if you're really good, you can get well over 130k exp per hour if you're by yourself. (Mortifiier has confirmed this).

Lvls 1-55:

For the first 54 lvls buy some runes to kill some beasties. You'll have to start out with air strike, and just move up from there when choosing which spell.

Once you can cast fire strike I recommend sticking with that spell, seeing it's not too expensive and it hits a max of 8 which is pretty good. Once you can cast fire bolt you should cast that if you can. It's more expensive so you choose, faster exp or less money either way works.

Monsters to kill:

Starting out I'd attack chickens or cows. They are very easy and simple and will get you to fire strike in no time. Once you reach fire strike I really recommend killing guards in Varrock or Falador. They are weak to magic and you'll find yourself getting quick exp there.
Once you feel up to it, you should go kill lesser demons on Karamja (under the volcano) as soon as possible. Lesser demons are very weak to fire strike and you'll find yourself getting very good exp rates there.

Get runes by either rcing or buying them. Either way is fine. Runecrafting will take longer but of course is less expensive and trains another skill. _______________

Lvls 19-55:
Casting Curse is great exp. It's also not too expensive. You get 29 exp per cast. It's best to wear full rune or something that reduces mage bonus so you fail every single time. This way you can just stick to one monster forever and you won't have to switch and waste time. Also, make sure you use a mud staff.

High alching is very effective for these lvls. A good thing to high alch is mage long bows. If you can make them yourself you'll break about even with profit, and if you buy them from other players you'll lose around 60 per high alch. That is, unless you do it my way. I have a trick up my sleeve again. Basically go to Karamja dungeon, where the red spider eggs spawn (under volcano). Camp out there and high alch and as you do that, collect red spider eggs. These can sell for 350 ea, and you can collect many of these (enough to break even) per hour. Bank in the Tzhaar zone, and THIS DOES NOT slow down your mage exp don't worry! Also remember you can high alch as you run! ==Based what they sell for as of 2/23/08==

Magic longs: -57 gp per alch
Blue Bodies: -14 gp per alch
Green bodies: -14 gp per alch

The mage training arena.....great place to earn magic exp. You need to be committed though. This isn't a two day thing. I really suggest staying here for a week or more at a time or you'll find it money consuming.

Here at the mage training arena there are several different mini-games you can play. You'll be needing several thousand cosmics, natures and law runes as well as a few various elemental runes.
Don't worry though, if you stick to it you'll earn your money back. At the mage training arena, you can get about 600 exp per minute, but you will rake in tons of money by spending your points earned on full infinity! Sell the items you earn and buy back the runes and you'll be set for yet another load of the mage training arena.

Right around lvl 60, you'll be able to hit consistently enough to try out steel/iron/bronze dragons. I'd suggest steel because they'll give best drops. Using this method, it's a must to have Chaos Gauntlets which makes your max hit with chaos spells (bolt spells) hit a max of 3 higher. Get the necessary fire or air staff and a bunch of chaos runes, head to the Brimhaven dragon dungeon (costs about 1k to get in). Bring an axe and food along with you. Venture through to the dragons, I'd suggest maybe bringing anti-fire pots. Then all you have to do is mage them with fire bolt.

Another one of my combo-skilling things is involving magic, smithing and crafting. If you want to get all three skills up, then buy some gold ores, make them into bars (with goldsmithing gauntlets) and after that make them into gold bracelets. You can then high alch these for 330 each! You gain about 70 gp more if you count the costs of regular mage and regularly selling gold bars to other players. Lvls 15-90:

Iron is the absolute fastest way to 90. The best place to mine iron in the game is in the Fishing Colony (northwest of Tree Gnome Stronghold). Very fast banking process although you need to do the quest Swan Song. Another spot that's great is the easily accessible Yanille. Iron rocks are just northeast of Yanille. It's the closest iron to a bank that doesn't require doing a quest or anything and it's really not much farther then the Fishing Colony spot.
==-POWERMINING-==

Mini-guide to powermining, I have some interesting tips in here. The 3 places that are best to powermine are Al-kharid, south of Piscatoris Fishing Colony, and Ardougne. I find the fishing colony spot to be the best. It's the least crowded, and no quest is required to powermine. Ardougne would be my 2nd choice if I had to make one.

While powermining iron, it is possible to get up to 58k exp per hour! Many of you
probably don't believe me. Read up for my secrets!

I'll do the best to explain my technique. PLEASE NOTE, you cannot do this unless you are in a very lag free world, that quickly responds to your clicks. The normal powerminer will find as he/she goes in a circle mining, the next rock spawns just as he/she finishes mining the ore they're currently on. This takes approximately 7.3 seconds to do. Now, using my technique, you can do this is 6.7 seconds. It's very tough to perfect though. Whenever you powermine iron, drop an ore in your inventory as soon as you see the ore you're currently mining appear in your inventory. If you perfect this, you can mine, drop an ore, and click on the next ore with time to spare.

So, starting off with my technique. At the first ore, normally click it and quickly move you mouse over to drop an iron ore that's already in your inventory (as you always do). Right as your character reaches out (and I mine right when he does this) drop the ore. You should still mine the ore if you do it right, but don't wait for that to happen. Quickly move your mouse and click on the next rock. If you do it fast enough, you should see a difference in how fast your character reacts. Then drop another ore as your character mines the 2nd ore, and mine the 3rd ore normally (don't use that technique again). If you did it right, you should notice that when you start the circle of mining again, the ore will spawn about .6 seconds later than it normally does. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough, I tried my best. All in all, you will notice it if you do it right. You also must be in a world where your character responds fast to do this! Only certain worlds, such as world 6, 18, and a few others work for me! It could be different for you though.

If you work this technique to perfection, you'll achieve 4k more exp per hour thannormal. Add that on top of getting Varrock Armor (#s 1,2, and 3 get extra ore at the same rate so just get 1 if you don't have it), which gives another 4k bonus, you're achieving 58k exp per hour if you are nearly perfect. I HAVE ACHIEVED 58,000 EXP IN 1 HOUR BEFORE!

~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 90-99:

After numerous tests by myself, I've found that granite becomes better than iron at approximately level 90. Varrock armor actually does work on granite as well, so you're not losing out on that bonus. It's extremely tough for me to say exactly when granite is better than iron, because it's hard to take in all of the variables, such as different randoms, players taking your spots, and finding spots. Granite is much more crowded than iron, so that's a big negative.

At level 90, I was able to achieve 60k exp in exactly 1 hour, including randoms. Iron's best exp in 1 hour is valued at 58k per hour. Note though, this time does not include time spent for finding good granite spots.

Finding granite spots is very difficult, and sometimes other players steal yours. Like I said earlier, it's extremely difficult for me to put a number on how much this decreases your exp per hour. I'm making it sound like a bigger deal than it actually is though. It probably only accounts for 2-3k exp per hour on average though. So, if I'm right, at level 90, granite and iron would have about the exact same hourly rates. BUT, iron is much more stressful, so I definitely recommend granite once you hit 90!
Now that I've had more experience with granite, I've developed a few tricks.

As I stressed before, finding granite spots can be difficult, and especially when there are fewer worlds that are full, such as late at night. I have a way to solve this problem (helped along by my friend Mortifiier to find this method).

If you find that all of the good granite spots are taken, there's another spot that will get you the same experience per hour, although it can be a little bit more annoying to do, which is why I prefer not to do this method. You'll find a spot where there is granite and sandstone lined up like this.

S G
S G

(S=sandstone, G=Granite)

At this spot, you should mine the granite, and then drop one granite chunk once you're done mining it, and then mine the sandstone directly beside it. After you mind the sandstone, drop another chunk, and then click on the other granite. You'll move one space, and mine the granite, and after that, once again drop a chunk of granite. Finally to complete this cycle, mine the sandstone beside the second granite and drop another chunk once you're done mining the ore. So basically, it's just mine, drop, mine, drop etc. This method (at lvl 90) can earn you up to 60k exp per hour if you do it properly, and the best thing about it is that you don't even need a full world to do this, so you'll never have trouble finding a spot.

WAYS TO GET WATER AT THE QUARRY

Gold isn't a great source of exp, but it ties in with smithing well. Smithing gold ores is one of the best ways to get smithing exp in the game, and also you can earn 100k+ cash per hour mining gold. So get mining gold!

Perhaps you're waiting for me to tell you where to mine gold and what the best places are.

I find the horseshoe of gold ores on Karamja, (little north of Brimhaven) the best place. Although many of you won't because you'll need several glories and access to the faerie rings or house in Brimhaven.

# 1 WAY TO MINE GOLD

Use a glory to get to Edgeville, bank and then teleport to your house (if you move it to Brimhaven)

# 2 WAY TO MINE GOLD

Use the fairy rings to get to a bank and then use your glory to get back to Karamja and then get back to work on mining your gold....

# 3 WAY TO MINE GOLD

In the game would be the Keldegrim mines. You need to have completed "Between A Rock" quest to do it. In the gold mining spot, there are almost hundreds of gold ore spots, but spread out. A dwarf in the mines will bank your ore for a price of I think 6 of that ore and 3 with a ring of charos (a).

Therefore this place is fast. One last place would be the crafting guild....which is also fairly quick.

EXP GAIN: 16k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 120k p/h

***SPEED***

Mining is probably a low 4 on the scale of speed because although you can get up to 58k per hour, it's not humanly possible to always be that focused, so I would say 50k an hour would be a reasonable average for somebody with good focus.

~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-15:

Prayer isn't all that hard at the very early stages. Killing anything from cows to chickens will do. Simply bury the bones and you'll get some fairly quick prayer lvls.

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-30:

Once you have 15 prayer, your combat lvl should be high enough to kill something that drops big bones. Hill giants are great if your combat lvl isn't all that high yet. If your combat lvl is higher see the next one.

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-50:

You most likely won't be able to kill baby blue dragons until around 30ish prayer because of your combat lvl, but when you are up to it, attack baby blue dragons in Taverly dungeon. Their bones give 30 exp each and just bury them on the spot
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 1-99:

Once you get enough money or a high enough combat lvl, find yourself some dragon bones. You can either kill dragons and bank them (fairly good profit), or you can buy them from another player. Bones have gone down to I think around 1.9k each now. Very expensive, but of course very fast.

Now if you are wondering why you want to save your d bones and not bury them on the spot.....see the next page for your answer.

Alright, it's very important to save your dragon bones because there's ways to get up to 4x the ex* as they give just normally burying them.

BEST OPTION:

Using a gilded altar with incense burners is by far the best option to get prayer exp. You get crazy fast exp (like over 300k per hour doing this) although you'll need to supply yourself with d bones which will be expensive.

If you don't have a gilded altar yourself (made in your house) then you can use somebody else's if they're having a house party or something. The best place to do it I think is in Yanille, correct me if there's a faster way. There's three options you have.

1) Use dueling rings to bank and home tele tab to get to your house

2) You could use the general store method, note all your d bones, sell them to general store in Rimmington and buy them back so they are unnoted. This is the fastest method seeing you don't have to bank although it costs a little more.....

3) Just use a bank and bury them at gilded altar. Slower but of course less expensive.

EXP GAIN: 350k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -2630k p/h

2nd BEST OPTION:

I would say ectofuntus really shouldn't ever be used any more now that there's glided altars because you save sooooo much time at the gilded altar. You get almost 10x the exp rate at glided altars then you get at ectofuntus.....although the ectofuntus is 4x the exp per bone instead of the glided alter which is 3.5x exp per bone. It still isn't worth it though. You'll be saving something like 10k per hour if you use ectofuntus, isn't worth it at all.

EXP GAIN: It's possible to achieve 70k per hour here, if you buy your slime in a bucket (lol whatever it is), use dueling rings to bank, and use ectophial to get back.

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -300k p/h

***SPEED***

Expensive but very fast if you use the dragon bones way. This skill is very hard to train though if you don't spend money, so if you spend money probably a 9 on speed, but if you don't, like a 3.

***USES***

This skill is VERY important to have especially to lvl 43. Almost all the hard quests require protect from melee, which is lvl 43.

Lvls 1-15:

Most people will pull out their bows and arrows but I'd advise you to use bronze knives from the start. That is if you are a member, seeing f2p cannot wield these. So if you are a member, pull out the knives at all times. You can buy bronze knives for 17 gp each at the Rogues Den, or about that same price at the Grand Exchange.

I'd recommend for your opening lvls a simple monster, such as cows, or goblins. I'd put cows as first option though.
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 15-35:

If you are f2p, I'd suggest going down under the Edgeville Dungeon and ranging some things down there. Hill giants are best option but can be crowded, so just range anything down there, seeing there's a broad varieties of good lvled monsters.

For p2p, I'd suggest trying out rock crabs or hill giants. Either work. Rock crabs will get you faster exp, hill giants drop better things. Now having that said, make sure you bring bronze knives because they are a very fast way of getting ranging exp.

Once you've completed Biohazard, you have access to King Lathas' Training Camp. Here there are caged ogres you can range and make a decent profit off of from seeds while getting great ranged exp. You'll also need an Ava's Device for this, and some tele grab runes. Later on in the guide there's more info on each type of arrow and knives' exp per hour.

ALSO, if you wish to range other creatures, look at the melee section for a list of great monsters to kill for exp/drops!

King Lathas' Camp is also good at these lvls, as well as earlier levels. (if you don't know what this is, read Method 1 on the previous page).

I'll supply you with some of the results you'll get if your range level is in the mid-70s. If it's higher, add on some exp to the hourly rates and if your range level is lower, then take away a bit of exp on the rates.

=Bronze Arrows=
50k gain from seeds
3k loss from arrows
3k loss from tele-grab runes

EXP GAIN: 30-35k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 35k */*

=Bone Bolts=
50k gain from seeds
2k loss from bolts
3k loss from tele-grab runes

EXP GAIN: 25-30k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 45k p/h

=Bronze knives=

50k gain from seeds
12k loss from knives
3k loss from tele-grab runes

EXP GAIN: 35-40k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 35k p/h

From these results, you can see that bronze knives are most definitely the most efficient method. You're getting 10kish more exp per hour with bronze knives versus bone bolts and only losing out on a 10k gain per hour. So to wrap this all up, train with bronze knives at King Lathas' Camp!

remember where you got your monkey greegree, there are lvl 142 monkeys you kill, the more you kill the more that spawn. You'll have to have prayer potions though because there aren't any good ranging spots. I've heard people boasting of getting up to 250k exp per hour!!! You can try out this method anytime you want although there is a let down......

Although it's a very expensive method, if you can earn about 300k+ cash per hour somehow, this is the most efficient method to 99 time-wise for you!

Lvls 14-44:

For these lvls I'd suggest crafting fire runes. It's a long hard stretch to 44 but I really think it's the best way. You have 2 options when making fire runes....
1) The fastest and recommended way if you have 100k to spare....This method will get you nearly 15k per hour which is very fast at this lvl. Buy as many dueling rings as you can, tele to duel arena, go into the fire altar and craft your runes then use the tele to castle wars to bank. Then repeat process. You can use glories to bank seeing it will be less expensive but just a tad bit longer.

2) Just do it the normal way, bank in Duel Arena or Al-Kharid if you're non-member and craft your fire runes.

(No pouches)

~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 44-54:

Making nature runes is the best for all of these lvls. You make a great profit, and don't get the fastest exp but it's fine exp. There's several ways to make nature runes....

1) Use the abyss, it's definitely the fastest method, although risky. MAKE SURE, no matter what method you use, you get pouches from the abyss, it's definitely worth it.

GUIDE TO ABYSS:

Here's nice big guide for the abyss

1) You must complete a mini-quest, started in Varrock by talking to wizard in the southern altar

2) First get pouches in the abyss. Bring some fairly good armor, but not expensive seeing it's possible to die and lose it all. Also bring some tele runes and a good weapon, and food. Kill ABYSSAL LEECHES, for pouches. It's by far the fastest way to get pouches. You can only have 1 of the pouch at a time and you can get all pouches, no matter what your rc lvl is. Kill the abyssal leeches in the northwestern corner, here there are hardly any other creatures that will bother you. ALSO if you lose all your pouches, you can get the smallest one back from the dark mage in the middle, which could save you a bit of time.

3) For passing obstacles, use a pickaxe and go through mining and agility obstacles. It's important to have 70+ agility/mining for the abyss if you plan on using it for a long time.

SURVIVING REVENANTS

Revenants are probably less of a threat compared to pkers, but they can still kill you and slow you down! So bring either full ghostly (best option) or black d hide. Other recommended items are the bear helm (attained from Mountain Daughter quest), and Karamja gloves (3), which will tele you away quickly if you get frozen. Once again, these aren't a huge threat so I wouldn't be too afraid and preoccupied with trying to survive. If you're really concerned about it, go to Lumbridge and get a gravestone, in which will allow you to recover all of your items. Only the cheapest one is needed.

SPEED IN THE ABYSS

Set up your pouches on the sixth row of your inventory. You can right click and left click without even moving your mouse to "empty" when emptying your pouches at the nature alter. Also, when approaching the bank, click "bank banker" instead of "quickly bank", you'll bank a half second faster. Banking is where most people make up time. It's very important to get good at banking, I can usually bank in 9 seconds, while others hardly do it in 15. Also, make sure to use super energies when abyss running.

To bank the fastest possible way, when you tele to Edgeville, click on the floor of the bank (1 square southwest of the deposit box on the northern side, and this will take time to perfect), and then quickly "bank banker" on the northern most banker.
1) You will NEED 10 glories if you want maximum exp. If you can't afford that many glories, you can use the ancients tele to Edgeville dungeon (slightly slower) OR you can use one more alternative, which is probably the preferred method.

You can put a glory inside your house that will have infinite charges. All you need to do is take home tele tabs when you go through the abyss, tele to your house and then tele to Edgeville using the glory.

2) Now you can also use fairy rings, which is almost as fast as the abyss, although you need to START Fairy Tale Part II. Use pouches, use the fairy rings to get to Karamja and use Edgeville to bank.

3) You can use the general store method, very slow but an easy way to do it. Note all your pure essence and bring along 20k. Sell your essence to the general store on Karamja (the one in the middle of the island) and then make your way to the nature altar, which is southeast from there.

(For the abyss)

====ZMI ALTAR====

Strong Recommendations:

---Complete Lunar Diplomacy (Required)
---71 Magic (Required)
---45 Agility
---54 Runecrafting
---70 Defence
---40 Prayer

The new ZMI altar is a very sufficient way to get exp. There are several requirements though to get the good exp and profit, and here is hopefully a very helpful guide to the ZMI altar to help give you the biggest profit and the biggest exp gain per hour.

First off, at lvl 54, you should start breaking even. It may not be 100% consistent for you, but around this lvl, you should break about even with the runes you make.

The ZMI altar is located north of the Observatory (which is just north of Castle Wars). The official ZMI world is 70, and will help you tons when you go through because you won't get attacked by all the monsters in there so use it! There is a pathway that will lead you to a dungeon. If you see a prayer altar, you're going the right way. Now go down inside and you'll notice a bank there. To access it, you MUST pay 20 runes of the same type. It doesn't matter what runes, but you will have to pay the banker, and since you have to pay them 20 runes every time you access it, when you re-bank to fill your pouches it becomes inefficient to use this bank. You should use the moonclan bank, as it's
the fastest tele seeing you already have to be on lunar spells, and it gives you a bit of magic exp, and it's cheaper than paying the price of using the bank at the Ouranian alter.

Once you're good, a run should take you about 1:40 seconds. You can go faster than that if you're fast though. A quick run-through of the path to Ouranian altar now....First start by filling all your pouches with pure essence, and withdraw several hundreds, or thousands of law and astral runes to tele to Ourania and to tele to Moonclan for banking. Also withdraw magic protection gear (full ghostly, or black d hide), and equip an earth staff. Tele to Ourania, and run up the hill, along the path. I strongly recommend using super energies to restore energy when needed. Go recharge your prayer (if it's below 25), or if you don't need to, proceed down the ladder.

Now, take the shorter path, which is directly south. Turn on your range prayer when you begin getting attacked and proceed through the "L" shape of the path to the altar. Once you reach it, you'll notice you get completely random runes for each pure essence! The higher your runecrafting lvl, the more often you get high lvled runes and you can even craft runes you don't have the lvl for here. Your average profit per ess completely depends on your runecraft lvl. You'll also notice you get 2x the exp per rune you craft. That is the secret to this altar. Now, teleport to moonclan and get more pure essence, and if you need food or energy, take those things with you and eat/drink them while you're on your run.
If you complete "Dream Mentor" you will not always have to lug around the Seal of Passage.

Teleing to Moonclan is BETTER than using a dueling ring. It's about 2-3 seconds quicker, although it is about twice as expensive each time you tele. I assure you it's
worth the bit of magic xp you get and the time you save.

From 70-72 rc, a test was conducted for me that showed for every 10k pure essence you craft, you gain approximately 350k including the cost of tele runes. So that shows you gain a steady profit while you're here.

Another test at lvl 75 was conducted, which showed you gained 450k profit per 10k ess you made.

EXP GAIN: (54-74) 23k per hour (75-91) 30-32k per hour

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 54-91:

Law crafting at level 54 is an extremely good source of exp and money. ZMI is solely
for getting fast exp, but if you want money to go along with fairly fast exp, this is the perfect method for you. You have two methods in crafting laws, both in which I'll discuss on the next post.

1) The best way to go about this is through the abyss. Before objecting to this method, read some info I've gathered from Poopmaster83 (huge thanks). I am aware you cannot take armor into entrana. Now that pkers are gone, revanents hardly suggest a threat in reaching the abyss, so armor isn't needed for this part. The next dilemma you face is passing the obstacles. You'll need several hundred pic axes to make this efficient, because without a pickaxe/wcing axe to get through the obstacles in the abyss, it really will slow you down horrifically. So, use the grand exchange to buy bronze picks (they are very cheap), or buy them in Ardougne, although this is a little slower.

So, you now have hundreds of bronze picks, and no armor on. Go through the abyss, pass the obstacles, and then drop your bronze pickaxe. You can't take it into the law alter, which is why you must drop it. Go into the law alter, craft your runes, tele to edge, and when you bank, fill all of your pouches and inventory with pure ess, and withdraw 1 bronze pick once again. DO NOT bother equipping it. You need to drop it anyways.

EXP GAIN: 18.5k per hour (w/o giant pouch), 24k per hour (w/ giant pouch)

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 350k (w/o giant pouch), 500k per hour (w/ giant pouch)

2) Ballooning with laws is awesome experience and money. You must complete Enlightened Journey quest. You then bring 1 log with you every trip, starting at the Castle wars (make sure to have several dueling rings). Balloon to Entrana and then craft your laws and duel ring back to Castle wars.

EXP GAIN: 16k per hour (w/o giant pouch), 21k per hour (w/ giant pouch)

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 315k (w/o giant pouch), 450k per hour (w/ giant pouch)

Death runes are definitely a great option to 75 rcing. They'll give you the more profit than nats (although harder to sell than nats, sell at 280 each) and almost 2.5k exp more per hour. The only problem is doing Mourning's Ends II. It's a very tough quest, but DO IT. Deaths will save you over 30 hours on your way to 91 rcing over nats!

EXP GAIN: 18k per hour (w/o giant pouch), 23k per hour (w/ giant pouch)

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 350k per hour (w/o giant pouch), 525k per hour (w/ giant pouch)

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 82-91:

At 82, you can double astrals, and people buy them for 150 ea. I definitely suggest trying out this method. You need to do Lunar Diplomacy and get a whole bunch of runes for teles to moonclan. Basically, just use the bank on Lunar Isle, run to the nearby altar, craft, and then tele to moonclan and repeat. Also note, when your pouch breaks, tele to Edgeville to restore it and make sure to bring p ess with you to craft nats/deaths/cosmics in the abyss.

Lvls 55-91:

World 16 airs is great once you hit 55, and best of all, it still works even after the trading limit came into effect. At 55 you can 6x airs and you'll make a profit or break even from the mandatory 1.5k and essence you give each runner. You can get close to 25k exp per hour here, maybe a bit more if you're good.

EXP GAIN: 25k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: (depends on lvl, you profit though)

_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lvls 91-99:

I'm not too sure if world 36 double nats will ever return to Runescape, but until it does, ZMI is the fastest exp in the game. So if you're purely after rcing exp (although you do earn a bit of money doing this) then do ZMI (see the guide a few posts back for tips on ZMI).

EXP GAIN: 40k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 150k p/h

_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~

Lvls 91-99:

Now this will take you almost forever, but now if you make nature runes you can double them, which will get you a maximum of 900k per hour! If you do this all the way through lvl 99, you will have enough money for all your other expensive skills to reach 99 (a profit of approximately 400 mil will be gained). Recently nats have dropped a lot so this method isn't as profitable as it used to be, but it's still the best way to make money in the game, and 900k isn't what I'd call bad.

EXP GAIN: 21k per hour

MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 900k p/h

Probably a 1.5 on speed, this has got to be one of the slowest skills.

Level 59: Back to My Roots (23,000 xp)

Alright everybody, this guide is going to be slightly different.

Instead of a 1-99 sequence, I'll just give some recommendations about how to train it the best and what slayer master to use and everything.....bear with me.

Alrighty, begin your heroic skill of SLAYING in Burthorpe. Talk to the slayer master there and he will tell you about the skill. Eventually you can get a slayer task from him.
There's not much to slayer at first. Just talk to the best slayer master you can go to. As you progress you'll get harder tasks from each slayer master.

TIPS-

Alright here are some tips you should think about whilst adventuring slayer.

1) Use your common sense when doing your slayer tasks. Some tasks that are assigned are absurd, such as 8 bronze dragons. That is a complete waste of your time, seeing it's only 8 of them and they're terrible exp in the first place. You can switch your task with the first slayer master if you get a bad task such as 8 bronze dragons.

2) Lots of times they'll give you a general monster. Such as wolves. There are wolves ranging from 27-130ish. Kill the ones suitable for you. It's best to go after the hardest ones, seeing your task will last longer and you'll not have to switch so often. Switching tasks does waste a lot of time and it's best to keep that down to a minimum.
3) Kind of like number one, there are many slayer beasts that are stupidly annoyingly hard. Some require salt bags to K0 them and you'll have to bank and stuff to get items to kill them. It's a complete waste of time to do these tasks so always switch a task when you get something like that.

4) Use NPC contact spells. You can use this if you do "Lunar Diplomacy." DO THIS....you can talk to slayer masters without going to them! It helps a ton to have portals in your house as well which can tele you to places while you are on lunar magic**. Also, tele tabs are definitely recommended for all the normal spells if you're on lunar.

5) Always melee the monsters. There are very few conditions where you'll want to range them. One reason could possibly be you are a pure and NEVER want to train melee. That would be a good one. I guess if you REALLY just want to raise range you could do slayer with it, but melee is better because there's the slayer mask. It only works for melee and it will get you very fast exp in both melee stats and slayer. NEVER range if you're after quick slayer exp (unless it's with a cannon), seeing range will make it go extremely slow. I guess another reason you could use range is if your melee isn't up to fighting a monster and you must range it.

6) When you get a task from a slayer master, have runes to tele to a bank so you can get the right tele runes to go to where the monster is. It saves nearly 5 minutes per trip, seeing if you don't have close access to a bank you're walking to get runes to tele.....
7) Cannoning is actually an extremely good thing to do if you earn 300k+ per hour. It calls for a lot of calculations to show you exactly how it's worth it, but it increases slayer exp per hour dramatically, and is more time efficient if you can earn 300k+ cash per hour. YOU CANNOT cannon in the slayer tower and dungeon so don't bring it there.

8) Using prayer potions. It may seem like an expensive approach but if you can earn 400k+ per hour (75 rcing) then this is also a great thing to do. Use superhuman strength and improved reflexes. The higher prayer, the better off you are doing this, and keep these prayers on all the time, cause it's more time efficient if you earn 400k+ per hour.

9) Remember to pick up all charms you get for summoning. Getting to 99 slayer (from what I've heard) gets you about half the charms needed for 99 summoning. So slayer benefits summoning A TON.

10) ===Equipment===

-Full guthans
-Fury/glory
-Berserker Ring
-Fire cape/obby cape
-Abyssal whip, Saradomin Sword/Dds

That's your fighting equipment. Also I'd recommend going into the lunar spellbook, buying tele-tabs for normal spells, buying super sets and prayer potions.

10) My last tip is whenever you get a genie lamp, spend it on slayer because slayer IS the slowest skill, therefore you should use all the free exp you can get on it.

Here are monsters you should switch tasks on (change in Burthorpe)

(In alphabetical order)

Black Dragons
Bronze Dragons
Crocodiles
Harpie Bug Swarms
Iron Dragons
Jungle Horrors
Kurasks
Mogres
Mutated Zygomites
Steel Dragons
Turoths
Wall Beasts
Warped Tortoises
These tasks all give terrible exp, because either they're too high in defense, require special things to finish them off, or are too spread out to get good exp.

~~~CHOOSE THE BEST SLAYER MASTER YOU CAN GO TO~~~
I personally think now that they changed the hardest slayer master to giving less dragon assignments, he is better. I get close to the same exp rates from Chaeldar, Mazchna and the slayer master in Shilo Village (Duradel), but the Shilo master dominates just by a little because honestly I switch just as much or more on Chaelder and when he does give good tasks, Duradel's good tasks are better. You can be your own judge though.
***SPEED***
This is the slowest skill. I personally get only like 18k exp per hour and this doesn't even include the time it takes to get new tasks and get to monsters, but I'm only 110 combat, so it's possible to get a little over 20k exp per hour in slayer.
***USES***
Slayer gives great drops as you progress. Slayer monsters can give you whips, tons of herbs and more. It's a great way to get money and help out other skills.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SMITHING
***FAMILIARITY***
Not the best smither, not the worst...I'm probably an 8 out of 10 on a scale of 1-10. My lvl is 79.
***ITEMS***
All sorts of bars, gold gauntlets and money.
***LVL 1-99***
Quests:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Level 1: Recipe for Disaster- Saving Pirate Pete (1,000 xp)
Level 1: Heroes' Quest (2,257.5 xp)
Level 1: The Giant Dwarf (2,500 xp)
Level 1: The Knight's Sword (12,725 xp)
Level 20: Elemantal Workshop (5,000 xp)
: Level 30: Elemental Workshop II (7,500 xp)
Level 50: Between a Rock (5,000 xp)
Level 50: Cabin Fever (7,000 xp)
Level 65: Devious Minds (6,500 xp)
_______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 1-29:
Ok I have another trick up my sleeve. The quest "The Knight's Sword" does not require any smithing lvl. It just requires one iron bar, which can be bought from another player.
This quest takes under an hour and you can boost your smithing lvl very easily from it. I really recommend it.
_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You always have the choice of mining copper and tin ore and smithing into bronze bars and such. It's the most common way to get smithing up in the early lvls, although definitely not the fastest. By the time you have 10 this way, you'll have 29 by doing the quest.
(Tai bwo general store has 10 bronze bars and an anvil right next to it, this is good exp, just buy bars and smith).
_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 15-29:
If you still didn't want to do the knight's sword, mine iron and make bars/knives. _______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 29-40:
Throughout these lvls, I'd recommend iron. You will make a small profit and it's quite fast. The best place to mine iron is in Yanille, so go there to mine it. When you make your bars into things, if you're after the profit, then go with iron knives, and if you're after exp then go with platebodies. _______________
~ METHOD 1 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 40-99:
Gold bars are now the known way to go. They can seem quite expensive, but the fast exp makes up for it. Nearly 3 times faster then iron, smelting gold bars out of gold ore with goldsmith gauntlets will get you mad exp. 56.2 exp per bar I believe.
EXP GAIN: 55k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -360k p/h
What to do with gold bars?
You basically have 3 choices....
1) You could make jewelery, but I really just recommend selling them.
2) Sell them for around 200 each
3) Make gold bowls (I still don't recommend it though)
_______________
~ METHOD 2 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 40-99:
Superheating gold ore is one of the fastest ways to get exp in the game. Obviously it's very expensive. Buy nats (or make them), buy gold ores and then simply superheat.
EXP GAIN: 100k per hour (you also get 100k mage exp per hour)
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -1100k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 3 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 48-99:
Steel plates are just a bit faster than superheating gold ores, but you get no mage exp (a little bit faster but harder to buy/sell materials and you lose just a bit more). Pretty simple, just buy steel bars and smith them on the Varrock anvils (West bank). I'm not sure how hard these are to sell, but they're probably hard to sell, so I'd recommend only doing these if you're prepared to high alch.
EXP GAIN: 120k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -1130k p/h_______________
~ METHOD 4 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls: 70-99
This is a great method for magic/smithing combo, you get 40k exp an hour in smithing and 53k exp an hour in mage! This is THE BEST method if you wish to couple smithing and mage. Buy addy ores and coal and Superheat them into bars. Sell the bars to break even.
You save about 50 hours doing this over the # 1 methods for smithing and magic and also save 80 mil.
===Fast superheating process===
Withdraw 7 addy ores to start. Place 1 right under the superheat icon in your inventory. Withdraw the rest in coal, superheat 3 bars and bank. Only withdraw coal then exit the bank. Superheat 3 more bars then deposit your 6 addy bars, withdraw 6 more addy ores and the rest coal. (saves 3 seconds per 2 inventories if you just do it normally).
EXP GAIN: 40k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: -50k p/h
_______________
~ METHOD 5 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 40-?:
Making Iron bars and smithing them into things is alright exp. But the best part is you make a profit in most cases. It's an easy way to make cash and get some smithing exp by making bars (AND MAKE SURE YOU USE RINGS OF FORGING!!!) and then smithing them into iron knives or possibly platebodies to make the exp faster, but profit lower.
_______________
~ METHOD 6 ~
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lvls 35-?:
Cannonballs are profitable but not the greatest exp. I'd recommend buying your steel bars and if you do it this way, it'll be faster than method # 5 although you'll get a slightly smaller profit. # 5 and # 6 Methods are very close to the same in exp/profit, so I'd just say choose whichever one you prefer.
EXP GAIN: 10k per hour
MONEY GAIN/LOSS: 30k p/h
***SPEED***
This is a slow skill and probably a 3 out of 10.
***USES***
Making armor is a huge bonus in the beginning lvls. It helps out your beginning careers in Runescape. Other than that, I guess mainly it's just a good quest skill to have. Plus with the new dragon plate out (requirement of 99 smithing) you will want 99 smithing
