Why are osrs gold prices going up so much

It was only like 50 cents like 6 months ago now its at like 82 cents

whos selling at 0.82 l0l, its gone up for sure but u can still get it around 0.65-0.7

 

I personally haven’t seen sellers selling GP around .65 lately. Where have you been looking at?

This is the exact reason for me.

As well, I have never had so much free time on my hands - in the past, I've never been able to play OSRS without feeling stupidly guilty that I should be doing house work or something more productive with my time. This Coronavirus has bought back so many nostalgic feelings with the game and I am hooked.

 

Demand is going up

 

Alot of GP getting removed from bans and the resurgence of players from the pandemic lockdown.

 

Anyone selling that privately for that price is just wasting their own time really. Partypete is buying for .66 - .69 this last week

 

I think probmas was selling out at $94 P/M not long ago made me giggle But with lockdown and the spare money with nothing to do i guess prices just went up

 

The demand for and supply of economic goods determine the price asked for it. With increasing demand and less supply, the price will generally rise. Conversely, the price will decrease if demand and demand increase.

 

Wouldnt that mean more gold being generated into the game as well though?

 

more players means more demand . Also jagex added some new stuff to slow down bots.

Simply put, people being stuck at home made more people play, causing most prices to rise which means more gold to buy things, gold sellers can take advantage of the more gold needed by selling for higher.
