Report A Scammer Forums

Ive noticed that alot of people report scammers with legit proof (including me) and not even one mod replys to there thread saying if its good enough or not?

 

I actually tried to create a poll today somewhere regarding suggestion if we need a separate team for "report" section. I have reported an attempted scamming couple of days ago. To be honest, I don't like my efforts to be a waste.

I tried Suggesting an Anti-Scam Moderator a while back, but it really wouldn't work out. I would like to go through the Section, but I'd rather have some permission before doing so. All Mods should be allowed to sort through the Section, and I try to do a few from time to time. Maybe I need to go through all the Pages. Eh, I'll see what I can do to help out in a little bit.

 

lol, If I was the anti scam mod this place would be clean XD.

 

Use that section as a way to look up members and see if they are scammers. You have no idea how hard it is to do all those reports. It takes at least 4minutes to ban someone with good proof given.

 

true and sometimes mods have to make a judgment call even with sufficient evidence. if their were any "anti-scam" mods their would have to be quite a few in order to really be of any use. although the idea all together isn't bad.

Maybe you... but the mods here sure has a life to live. It can be understandable that sometimes they can get really busy.

Maybe we should push it? Anti-scam/reporting section team. So at least would take a load off to other mods.

 

I like the idea d great one they should really consider it..

 

Most are viewed, and if not enough evidence is found, there just left alone.

 

yup when i asked a mod to edit my topic no1 answeared i pmed 2 mods and made 2 threads lol... kinda unserious staff

 

ya i also got scammed by "awab" and dunno where i should post it..

 

I do totally Agree, if I check the Scammers-Report section, than I see plenty of topics that aren't checked/replied yet. They need to check it more.

 

I don't think that's the case. Since there's many scammers reported, the reports doesn't fit in just page one, and mods doesn't view old threads. I keep on viewing the last report I made, and I think I gave enough evidence, but I get no reply that the scammer is banned or an opinion that my evidence is not enough.

I really think that having an anti/scam or report section team would be great.

 

There really is WAY too much work in there for mods to be able to just go through and clean it all up, they do what they can, I think we should perhaps have some mods who are only report a scammer mods, but it is a lot of work. You can still use the section though as Cfrey says to check out who's scamming.

 

I remember tengauge12 looking through the scammer reports yesterday, and he found that out of the 6 pages or reports, 7 were actually able to be used.

That section is always failing due to the lack of intelligence of the general population of Sythe. Apparently, they don't know how to read stickies. I suggest that we give infracts to those who make idiotic scam reports.

 

yes, your right, no moderator is answering to my thread..... maybe administration should get more ppl to look after...

Yep i agree moderators have a lot to do atm... but i suggest a team of new moderators... maybe not moderators... but sythe guards =P
a old experienciedd moderators should be the "head guard moderator" and make a new team of "sythe guards"

 

It's funny though.
It seems that all the scam reports that DON'T have sufficient evidence get replied to, and the ones that do, get ignored... Like mine, and a bunch of other people's threads...

 

very true...i have had evidence enough proving that he did scam the pin..yet it never got replied to?

i relaly think that there should be a team of mods for report a scammer forums!! agree with everyone 100% about this

 

I agree, the report a spammer section was like this too, but recently a few mods such as Giddy and Alex seemed to have cleaned it up a bit, however the report a scammer section needs a lot of work. There are pages of reports with legit evidence and not one with a responce.

It's a lot of work yes, but if it was taken care of, it'll motivate people to not scam as they know they will get banned.
