A lot of people have diffrent view's on what "smart" exactly is,
well is it, book smart, grammer smart, or any others?

I think smart is someone who know's what most people consider "right", and "wrong" and follows the so called "right" way to most/all decistions.

How about you, what is your view, on this?

What do you define as "smart"

You've misused the word, "quick". It may take me a very long time to make a decision, but if it's made, and it's the right decision, then am I dumb?

Specify. I may be lost in the mall, but does that mean I'm not smart? What if I have a weird speech impediment?

Suppose the case of a new kid at a weird school who doesn't adapt. Is he not smart?

Really, ethics and intelligence have very little in common. If you're looking for what we define as, "acceptable intelligence", then you'd be right, but smart is, for the most part, different.

Not dumb, but certainly not what I would define as smart. Wise, perhaps.

What of those like Socrates, Einstein, ect? The people who are generally accepted as "smart", and yet, took many, many years to comprehend problems and make decisions about the answers to those problems?

    Are they not smart?

Being smart can mean being good at any number things, like say shakespeare. He had to be smart to create scripts for plays, but I would bet he had little or no kowledge of the stars unlike Aristotle and vise versa.

What do you define as "smart"

Aristotle was a philosopher. He simply thought of things that many people in his time did not think about. He had no notably "intelligent" profession.

    I define smart as;
"Intellectually capable; One who has the ability to understand and reply in a quick, orderly and correct manner. He who can seek guidance, and give wisdom to those who seek it.

    I agree Magic.

I also agree that spelling is not considered smartness either. Just because you cannot spell a word does not mean you do not know how to use it.. I just figured I would through that in there due to the fact that alot of people seem to critisize others on how they spell their words rather than how they used it.

No one should begin to judge one on how he spells his words, but we're on the internet. When you type a word, it gives you the correct way to spell it. Also, I doubt any of you are 5th graders. There should be no reason for you to misspell something.

No.. this makes you smart, thats what this thread is about -.-

and if u meant if u dont have this does it make u dumb?

Yes it does, if u dont have good common sense, you wouldn't understand stuff easily or even at all.
And if u dont have a good memory, then even if u finnally understand something you'll forget it shortly after.
