I believe I'm going to be the only one to give you the real reason why you want to donate to charity. Donating in sums larger than $300, in the USA, is a tax write-off. You can claim it on your taxes and get that money back in your tax return, in full, after it's been contributed to the sum you currently owe in taxes. If you owe negative amounts (meaning your getting a refund) that will only tack-on to the money you will be getting in return. :) A win-win, in my opinion, because though you aren't using the money, the Government is required to give it back to you, and it was donated to a good cause - Meaning you pretty much force the government to give money to the poor.

Ever wonder why Microsoft and other companies give a percentage of everything to charity? Here it is.

Why is it wrong? It's only a dog.

Killing it isn't humane, doesn't matter which way you do it.
