Was the GTX 1080Ti A Good Purchase?

I purchased a used GTX 1080Ti from eBay for $400 USD, I'm currently running 2 144hz monitors and it reaches that number most of the time (Depends on the game). I was told the GTX 1080Ti is the best used card to purchase, and I wanted input from you guy's if this was a good idea when the 3000 series is set to be announced in June.

I also forgot to mention I had the warranty transferred to me and it has approx 1 year of warranty left.

The 1080ti is a very good one, which will hold for as long as the 970 does. However I have to agree with the upper post, that 400$ for a used 1080$ is quite a lot, hopefully it was fairly new and with a receipt

I had the option for a $350 USD one but, chose the $400 one because it came with all the original cables and packaging and included an invoice to transfer 1 year of warranty to me. GTX 1080 and 1080Ti is going for even more money now. I sold my old GFX card for $300, so in reality I spent $100 for the GTX 1080 Ti.

the 2080 also does not come with DVI so it would be a PITA to get adapters to make his 144hz monitors work.

1080TI was a good move in my opinion.

I would say it greatly depends on what you want to use your computer. For if its gaming the 1080 Ti is solid for years to go, and I don’t see why you need 2080 Ti unless you want future proof the build or be able to play everything on the highest settings and besides the 3000, series is being announced so I would hold back from buying any RTX card until everything is out.

Yeah, its a solid card. $400 with a years warranty left sounds like a good deal (I sold one with no warranty for about the same a month ago). It'll handle whatever you throw at it as long as you don't expect anything unreasonable.

By the time that card dies you'll hopefully have another good value card to move up to.

If you're doing more than just gaming (streaming, video editing etc) then keep an eye on current gen Ryzen prices. Its unlikely that it would be worth it to upgrade now but when used parts start hitting the market in a year or two? Could be a good buy.
