Does anyone else feel that part of the downslide in the internet is caused by incorrect grammar from people. I have seen many people (all who have lost my respect due to this), talk in grammar such as "yh, i no wat u sayin, idk i am btr than u cuz i cnt type gud,k?" and often times cannot take the time to add one letter, to make the words flow smoother, easier to read and overall, improves things in the long run.
If you agree/disagree, please state why.

Disagree, people can talk how ever they wish on the internet. If you have a problem figuring out what "Cnt" means, then perhaps you should just not get on, or join a chat room with smarter individuals who understand how to type. I have no problem reading slang, most people don't. Just because they type a word different doesn't mean they should lose respect, it's their choice, if your not smart enough to read it... If this thread was to perhaps stop the use of internet slang, then this is a unnecessary thread.

I do agree, but, you failed to use correct grammar/speech in your paragraph.

    It should be:
I have seen many people (all who have lost my respect due to this){no comma here} talk in grammar such as "yh, i no wat u sayin, idk i am btr than u cuz i cnt type gud,k?"{Capitalization of Often and no 'and' due to the '?' which ends the sentence} Often times {add 'they' here} cannot take the time to add one letter {no comma}to make the words flow smoother and make it easier to read overall; {separate thought}it improves things in the long run.
But it was still pretty good spelling and such. I do agree though, this is of major annoyance to me.

I agree, but it doesn't make me mad to see improper sentence structure it's just when people misspell everything they type it's sort of annoying. I try to use proper sentence structure but I'm not too good with grammar, I'm more of a spelling person.

Yes, I admit, my grammar may be flawed, but I make an attempt to use proper grammar, if I have trouble, it is because English is not my first language.

This is a question. Use a question mark (?).

    More smoothly.

I disagree. People can spell as they wish to so long as it's understandable and the person writing it is happy.

Using proper grammar on a runescape forum is like the storyline of a porn movie, it's useless.

Yes, but starting on an MMORPG forum is just the first part. You see political forums with respected people talk fine, can't we do the same? If you talk good here, it'll spread to gfx forums, RPG forums, sports forums, COD4/5 forums and such. It starts with a small thing, but it can help.

Proper grammar isn't needed. As long as you know what the other person is trying to say, who really cares?

I think people that try and act smart online and try to use correct grammar, but make horrible mistakes are retarded. Those who do use pretty much proper grammar and make no large mistakes seem smarter and less like a noob.

SuF, were you reffering to someone, or you just putting that out there?

Sorry if I have bad punctuation, I never fully understood it that well, Hindi has a different system and I don't quite get the seperated in my head.

I was not speaking of anyone in particular. Its just something that really annoys me. Loads of people try and sound smart, but they just make them selves look retarded to people that are "smart". (Non-morons online = smart)

instead of using comas you can put a period in its place and capitalize another letter. Although this really doesn't matter, i like commas. :) To answer your question, i think it is part of the problems. Another would be useless people who come to places with just the intention to be a ass or to scam someone.

I tend to judge people who type with incorrect grammar..well, not people who don't capitalize, comma, etc...but people who don't SPELL -_- and use internet slang with numbers and such.
I don't use perfect grammar on the net, never did and still am not o_O but I used to be careless of like using 'u' for 'you' and 'r' for 'are' but I found using at least 'okay' grammar on the net helps your writing a tad

My opinion: their choice. but you will be judged, if you care about your personality reputation on the net/forum you're a part of.

My spelling has horribly deteriorated since i started using the computer a lot. This is because i don't even bother to try and spell a word correctly as i rely on google spell check to fix it for me.
