Why is it normally when a person is born into a religion/culture they seem to keep that for the rest of their lives. A small sliver of people in this world convert after birth. Is this because of peoples upbringing?

What do you think and what have you done?

 

its due to family influences mainly as they try to bring you up on what they were taught and believe.
Some people convert religion because of the area they live in and from pressure from society

Most Orthodox Christians baptise their kids at a very young age, so you're looking at a pretty big number.

When it's something they have never questioned, they are unlikely to change.
