gay games - right or wrong?

I don't see what's wrong with it other then the name. Gay Games is just begging for attention. I know that it's not discriminatory or whatever, but if another group were to make the Straight Games there would be a huge controversy.

 

If an Egyptian homosexual joins the Gay Olympics it will result in the same outcome.

Yet that's not what it is. The Gay Games are exclusively for homosexuals, transexuals and transgendered folks. No straight person would be allowed to join, thus making it unintentionally discriminatory.

 

No, it says that anyone is welcome. It is just called the 'Gay Games' to bring gay people together, but straight people are also allowed.

But, if the regular Olympics were renamed to "Straight Olympics" while still allowing gays to participate, would be just as bad as not letting them participate at all.

 

As long as it doesn't hurt/destroy/cause riots that cause gays to destroy everything in a weird way then it's ok.

They'd be pissed. The point is, there is no reason to name it gay games, because there is no straight games. The regular olympics are not aimed at hetero/homosexuals... If there were straight games, i would agree with creating gay games. But, there are olympics, not straight games. There doesn't need to be gay games. And im willing to bet if someone created the "straight games" then people would be pissed.

Nothing is wrong with it, in fact, it's one of the better ideas come up by Americans.

 

To be fair to homosexual people yes there should be homosexual games since there are many heterosexual games. Since the United States is all about equality games like those shouldn't be banned for it's choice of showing a sexual orientation that would be different than the social norm although that is changing enough that I'll almost dissappear altogether. As for the all black/white game that would be against the United States standards because it's unfairly not allowing something to be shown without a right reson and the United States wouln't do that^_^

To be honest, I really dont see the point of "the gay games".Gay's participate in the regular games and they have no problem.I can understand the Handicap Olympics (excuse me if its not called that) because they have a physical disorder and there will be a big disadvanage over them if they only were allowed to compete in the regular Olympics. I see the point in the special Olympics because they have a mental disorder and it will be the same way as the handicap.Gays, they are supposed to have their own Olympics jsut because they are gay? Last time I checked being gay is not a perminate disorder. You can choose to be gay or not,It has no effect on your mental or physical stability,so I say they just need to "man/woman up" and compete in the regualr Olympics.

Why should it be wrong? I say they can make ridiculously restricted games all they want. If someone wanted to make dyed hair games or Mormon games, who's to say they can't.

They shouldn't expect to be taken seriously by the general population though. "I can jump higher than any other gay man, go me!". So what?
