I actually don't mind the newer In Flames. In fact, if you're going to put them under your category of "pussy metal", why the fuck have you got Cannibal Corpse on your list? They're terrible.

BUT the bands you labeled are all more progressive and death metal oriented, and you still named this "the true metal thread" lol; don't get me wrong though i have nothing against death metal, it's probably one of my favorite genres of metal, but claiming that death metal is the true metal isn't right man, there were plenty of metal bands out there before Death came around and (so legend says) founded the genre death metal, because it was Death's metal ahaha

Ehh, yeah so maybe I was a little harsh. What I was trying to get at is that kids that listen to bands like the ones above aren't metal. Kids who want to listen to metal need to listen to REAL metal! That stuff that they listen to is just scene stuff, I really hate scene kids they piss me off lol.

And whats wrong about Cannibal Corpse, they are still just as brutal as they were when they started. When the got to mainsteam they didn't stop making death metal to get more popular and make money *cough* In Flames *cough*. But don't get me wrong, In Flames was the band that got me into metal and they just took a really really bad wrong turn. And they suck horribly now.

Well, I guess I can't really talk though. My band is one of those scene bands too, We all know the fad but its not like I can change it. The band has been together for 2 years and I just 7 months ago. I hate the singing in it, at sometimes it can be good but at other times I just can't stand it. They all know too but they respect that I don't really like it and they are all cool about it. I basically joined because of the music, I love the music that our band makes. The vocals, not so much.

Personally I like Killswitch and Bullet, your entitled to your opinion though. I also like A7X, they are great - Synyster is one of the best guitarists alive today.

Wow, Yeah I did forget a lot. I can't believe I forgot about Folk Metal!

I'm updating the list hold on. And Synyster from A7X is definately not one of the best, granted I will give it to him that he is pretty good, but there are many many other people better than him.

 

That song 8th Commandment by Sonata Arctica is my favorite one they've ever done. Got to see them in concert in September They're even better in person.

Slipknot is good but I agree Vol 3 and after sucks.
Alesana is Screamo, not Metal.
Silverstein is Screamo and Punk.
BlesstheFall is Screamo
Underoath is Hardcore and Screamo
Don't rip on Flyleaf just because their lead singer is a girl.

Get your genres right before you start ripping on bands dude. Some of them are Metal bands but doesn't mean they suck. Death Metal is the crap Metal that nobody likes. I mean seriously, have you ever truly listened to Cannibal Corpse? It's a damn guy roaring in a Microphone, it's pure shit. So don't even post Death Metal bands that do that shit up there as "good bands", maybe only Melodic Death Metal that actually has a beat and sometimes has descent vocals.
