    What is the ideal way to use caffeine in the healthiest way?

    On the journey to become the best version of myself, I convinced myself relying on caffeine and sugar was not a good way to live.

    So within the past month or so, I have completely cut it out of my diet (within a few exceptions). To be completely honest, my biggest problematic factor was with energy drinks such as Monster and moreso sugar that came with it. I’d shamelessly purchase bulk crates of them from Costco and down 1 or 2 a day.

    Now as we alll know, the biggest downside to having caffeine everyday is that you soon become reliant on it to be productive. But now that I’ve stopped using it, my average performance without caffeine has become noticeably much much worse.

    Most of my work is stationary; office-based so not a whole lot of movement is required but I am required to stay on task and stay productive and this was the main reason I’d be drinking them besides my obvious addiction (probably) to the sugar. I do drink them when I go to the gym, but I must admit I’m not a huge fan of the sugar-free counterparts.

    Most days now I’ll probably have 1 Monster per week, sometimes on weekends or sometimes on a day I didn't get enough sleep.

    Now, my question is that what are the shorterm and long term effects of caffeine? How do these effects affect a person's overall life and most importantly, what (if any) is the healthiest way to consume caffeine and I suppose benefit from its effects?

    If you want caffeine find an alternative. Caffeine is used by almost everybody. Theres no shame in enjoying it's effects.

    Find some other chit to drink. Forget the sugar.... Monster is also filled with other BS you just don't need as far as I know.

    I can recommend some things like Green Tea or Coffee with cream and sugar.

    I really like the 0 calorie monsters and rockstars. Look into Bang energy if you need a substitute. They're really good, lots of flavors, and a fuckton of caffeine.

    If you want healthy, stick to green tea and coffee without sugar or creamer only. Everything else isn’t healthy

    Need a moderate boost: green tea

    Need a small boost: earl grey tea + milk + sugar

    should try to keep it to a couple cups a day, caffeine can really affect you when you start drinking it heavy. I drink 1-2 pots a day on the weekends, but I've been drinking it since I was little. I have noticed myself it can affect your sleep if you drink it too late and sometimes I'm more anxious than normal after I've had a lot as well as sweat more. Just a couple things to think about, but like I said I'm a way heavier drinker than normal. Ideally, you would drink about 1 cup before a workout for a good energy boost, that's what I would do at least. Any more and it can give you some serious reflux while you're working out. For being safe to your liver which heavy caffeine can affect, I would advice try to keep it to a couple cups every 3 hours or so. Just an opinion though, everyone is different.

    Green Tea and even Normal Tea are a great source of Caffeine without the additives, personally a cup of Green Tea really sets me up for my shifts, even just drinking it psychologically makes me feel better.
    There is also Energy Sunflower Seeds, oh and there's also Energy water!

    from what i understand it exausts the adrenal glands, it brings about the fight or flight process in the body overdoing it is not good, sometimes if i wake up drained ill have coffee, but for the most part i switched to decaff

    Black coffee, caffeine pills, green/black/white tea. Long term effect of caffeine will be addiction obviously. A good diet with multivitamins and omega3 should do good.

    just drink black coffee and not too much, ensure you're hydrated as caffeine dehydrates you like crazy. treat it like a drug as thats essentially what it is.

    I’ve always done intermittent fasting, I’ll have a black coffee in the morning nothing too strong and I won’t eat until 2PM. I’ll finish eating at 8-9PM, rinse and repeat, the coffee helps speed up my metabolism and keep me burning fat throughout the day :)

    In all reality caffeine is only good because it blocks the receptors that tell you that you are tired. If you stop drinking it you go through massive withdrawals due to the tiredness hitting you. But it is worth it if you can stop. Water is always always always my go to as I don't drink coffee, energy drinks, soda or any of that. I don't have any energy drops during the day and I don't have to rely on anything to get me through the day.
