Suggestion for black market...Or anywhere!

You should give members the ability to lock their own threads.
This can help resolve arguments that are becoming in threads

Solve blackmarket problems, such as you know the account is sold.

When members find an answer, they can just lock it instead of hearing idiotic messages.

Let me know what you think ;P. I know i'm a "leecher" or member, not sure now, but I do have alot of experience on forums, 3k posts on another one ;O.

 

Yeah this is a great idea, and would stop people spamming on threads when the deal was finished 3 days ago.

I see "add my msn" on half the pin buying threads even after the thread starter already said he got the pin:huh:

 

Another great idea may be to Private Message a Market Moderator or Administrator asking to Lock a Thread for them. I do this on occasion for some Threads, and it's answered everytime.

There are no downsides to this idea. You're saving staff work.

 

Yeah but it will take some time, and spammers will still spam in that time.

Allowing us to close our own threads will allow us to close it as soon as the deal is finished.

Is it not required to do so in their own section? If not, then why do Moderators exist?

 

I don't agree. Things will get out of hand and people will lock their own threads when it best benefits them.

 

I've seen mods infract people for posting on threads that have had the problem resolved,and then closing them. This isn't very fair on people who are just replying to a thread. Closing the thread would save people infractions and mods locking threads.

 

I like this idea...Not like we could use this against ourselves.

Yea its good idea id go for it i mean once the trade done and finished theirs no point of other people posting on it. It will let people know that the item has been sold instead on posting on it again asking to buy it.

Think about it say player a is selling an account, player b buys it. Then player a immediately locks the thread, recovers his account. Now player b is playing on the account and all and it gets recovered, now since player a locked the thread player b is unable to warn users of player a being a scammer. And player b will have no legitamite proof that player a and b actually did trade.

This doesn't stop you from taking screenshots.

 

Its been said many times before, ussers will not be given moderating privileges.

 

Either way, even though my initial ideas were flawed as said before this will give users moderating powers. We might as well allow them to ban other users as well and let all hell break loose.

 

I do agree with this, because it will lower the spam.
and I don't see any downsides to this suggestion.

Yes from me

 

1. Nice sarcasm unb4nned. But why nag at the mods when they can tend to other more useful things.

2. This doesn't stop scams in session, of course, there is that risk, but there is also reasons for a scam report section. As long as you take pictures etc. If they make a repeat thread. Then simply post evidence on there.

3. Sorry Morphis, not to get on your bad side, but that is just throwing it out of proportion and adding propaganda. There is a pretty big difference between allowing users to lock their own threads and allowing them to ban whomever the feel.


I see there are some flaws to this, but maybe you can limit it to certain sections? I know it is possible ;P. It is just a simple suggestion though, and It doesn't matter if this thread dies.

I support this. I've told Cfrey once to lock my thread then the spammer comes back because I made a new thread so, Cfrey is logged out and I asked atleast 3 other moderator's to lock the thread for me and they all say just tell Cfrey to do it. Then, one of the moderator's says that he will ban them and a day has gone by and he hasn't done anything. Honestly, moderators are really lazy when it comes to solving situations on threads, no offence to the moderator's out there.
