Slipknot songs that are good- Before i forget, pulse of the maggots, the blister egists, eyeless, surfacing, wait and bleed, left behind, pychosocial, dead memories, snuff, vermillion pt 1 and 2 , all hope is gone, purity, sic and lastly heretic anthem. all of those songs shit all over any other music i have heard!

 

And all slipknot fans arent neceserially emo.

 

Your first statement doesn't have a leg to stand on at the very least do what I did and show me how you could ever possibly come to a logical explanation that Eric Clapton isn't a good musician.

For the next thing that is your opinion on who is you enjoy listening to, not who is more talented. you can come up with a logical standard as I have already said on what is and is not talent.

To the last statement, that is exactly what it means. If anyone can do what ever that person does with very little if any at all effort it isn't talent because talent is something that is unique that not many people can do. now if we go by Eric Clapton, can you honestly say you can play his songs? There certainly not the most difficult songs but nowhere near not difficult.

You answered your own question with or without knowing it, it's because the human race has many flaws and one is about choosing favorites, like you said you may not like who won, it's because those people do not take the time to listen or watch whatever talent which is why they get 3 judges etc. and they usually enjoy different things.

American Idol is just all for show, they aren't really looking for talent. They are looking for ratings and money. The reason they let America choose who will win is because clearly, the people that vote for the winner are probably going to be buying the albums. It's like the fans of Slipknot, they don't know what talent is but they listen to Slipknot and buy their albums. People listen to American Idol and buy albums of the winner, regardless of whether the winner has talent or not, they just think the winner 'sounds good'.


Slipknot are like Soulja Boy, neither are talented but both make lots of money.

 

Honestly back on topic.

I am more of a softer rock person, Something I can relax too, once in a while like Viper said when I want to get pumped, Im into some screamo like.

Now some of those might not be considered "Screamo" but for me those are pretty strong songs. I like listening to them when I run, keeps me on step. Otherwise I don't like Slipknot really, my cousin tried to get me into them, just never caught my full intrest.

 

Heh just took a look at this and wanted to point out, I play more instruments than probably anyone on this site, and have been playing most of them longer than most on this site, and have more talent at said instruments than anyone else. Therefore that would mean I do know more than everyone else. An we don't flame every successful person just the ones who have no talent.

I couldn't care less if a band is underground or not I will listen and like them if there good.

I'm not flaming people I am flaming the bands and voicing my opinion. If you don't like my opinion simply don't ask.

Slipknot was no where near as popular as they are when they first came out. An I had got word of the band basically as soon as they came out. they are talentless trash.

Ask any person who plays they will tell you the same, if Every person agrees that is absolute therefore my opinion is fact and will remain, prove that slipknot is talented.

Slipknot has no emotion to there music either, all together they fail.They talk about shit that means nothing to there lives they just sell what ignorant people will buy.

Smoke on the water isn't exactly an easy song a couple riffs in the song are but thats it. and if you're trying to compare Deep purple to slipknot you're a joke with songs like soldier of fortune, smoke on the water etc. they have much more talent and emotion and time put into there songs than slipknot. Don't even attempt to compare the 2.

Wrong Playing something complicated does not mean it has talent if you do not play the instrument correctly.

RRR and UR have some of my favorite bands signed to them, but the fact is they sign bands that will sell records that they can exploit for there own gain just as all companies do.

Also don't get so full of you're favorite little band there isn't "billions" of people who listen to them. I will say that the majority of the people who listen to them listen because other people in there "group" or people they look up to because they think it makes them cool. An I would take a bet that you're one of these people which is why you feel the need to defend the band so much without posting significant evidence to prove that they have talent.

 

I really don't understand why people hate Slipknot with a passion. Is it because of their masks, nine members in one band, or you guys think you're cool because you only listen to those underground death metal bands that no one has ever heard of and any mainstream band is automatic shit?

 

We already answered this the band is completely talentless minus the drummer. They stole 90% of there material. The band is all together a load of shit.

 

I don't listen to death metal lol. I think bands with no talent are shit, as you can see thats the whole argument here. When i look at talent i look at lyrics not just instrumentals as well, and Slipknot has neither.

some slipknot members are extreamly talented, Joey is one of the best drummers in the world and Corey can go from soft rock to screamo ( Vermillion to Surfacing).

If you lost respect for me over my opinion on a band that doesn't really affect anyone then i don't think i could care less whether you respected me or not.

We have stated before that the drummer has some talent but hes not 'one of the best in the world'. I'm assuming Corey is the vocalist? Dude his voice sucks, its like he sings constipated.

 

Who did the steal it from? The only thing they stole was the mask idea from Mushroomhead, but that has nothing to do with talent. To be honest in my opinion the band instrumentally may have little talent, but the vocals are great and so are the lyrics, you guys are just hating on Slipknot because you have nothing better to do.

They stole a bit of there instrumentals from mushroomhead as well and apparently some of pantera's as well, they just played them shitty. The vocals aren't that good and there lyrics are meaningless.

 

Their old stuff MFKR til Iowa was amazing! I still listen to that stuff, I mostly like their stuff when they were still underground and local like on MFKR. Now they just suck, horribly.

 

Sorry for the double post but I beg to differ with this one.

Joey is very good at the style of music that he plays. Otherwise except for metal Joey isn't a very good drummer, he can't really play a lot of different styles of music but metal. I still really enjoy his drumming but he is only basically good for metal. I started out as a metal drummer but as time went on I have learned so many styles of drumming, Joey has just stuck with one and is really good at it. I am about medium in most of the styles that a play because I don't practice the same style everytime I play.

 

Slipknot is good but doesn't make you metal you need to hear some real heavy shit
