"My account been hacked" CLICK HERE FOR REASON.

This is quite old now!


"My account has been hacked" has been very open today/yesterday and the reason is Internet explorer, NOT firefox,NOT rsbot..

After a bit of research everyone who has used firefox and rsbot are safe while the people who have been hacked have used internet explorer and rsbot think its rsbot which made them get hacked.But they are wrong!

I've heard about this "flaw" in IE. SO i stick to Firefox.

 

Zybez had an announcement on their front page and said that IE had a security hole which lead to many, many, MANY thousands of hackers to hack RuneScape accounts. Internet Explorer has released a fix for this, and firefox and other different browser users are safe.

 

So lets say there's a pop up from IE, should I-

A) Not give a shit?
B) Change my password using firefox.
C) Run around the house screaming.

I do not use the IE rs web client. when i play i just use the rsbot client. do you think i am safe or am i risking being hacked? my dad is a a$$ and always uninstals my firefox.

Yes. Change your pass with firefox now and download Ad-Block. That is why FireFox is much safer than IE. IE is exploited now.

 

Jagex also have a update about it saying many players are getting hacked from this.

 

haha im screwed when i read about the security flaw i immediately changed my pass....except it was on ie and for some reason FF and safari wont let me change pass so ie waas my only option didn't notice the actual flaw was about ie, someone just told me to change pass cause there were hackers

Way to state the obvious

 

The rest of your information (Site passwords, financial information, etc) is probably hacked too. Contact your bank / changes around your passwords if you haven't.

Ive never liked swift ----. I got hacked first time i used it so never again

 

I'm using IE and nothing's wrong for now, i'll change to firefox and change pass just in case.

 

Better to be safe than sorry.

 

IE is terrible in general anyways, Firefox has better security in every aspect.

 

my old account got hacked from this like 3 weeks ago it must have been i started using rsbot for the first time everything was fine switched to a different dl of rsbot it was from the site but it had many more scripts included with the bot.. 2 days later almost all my passwords except msn was changed and bank stuff but like fuck do you think this is why my account is now gone?

 

It may have been IE for some people, but RSBot did have a file in it for a small amount of time that someone had put into the svn when they hacked into it, but all you needed to do was compile and it was gone because they did not make a source file.

 

I use SS for Rs, so no problems for me.
