ehhh.. sure your new to coding but wtf? haven't you got any eye for colors that matches or not? purple and blue are no good combination... lol

one thing, inside your <style> tag, why don't you put all css inside that instead of writing some in that tag and some in the other code
like the <div> tag where you wrote <div style="...."> you could have written in the <style> tag instead, just add a ID or class for your div...

I would suggest using an class or ID for the images, also for orgonazation purposes an external style sheet might help, for when you want to edit it later.

Looks good for a first timer, just colors are a bit off.

Its not that bad for a new guy. You should have seen people's websites in my class in 8th grade. Those were horrid. :/

I only took a quick glance (as has everyone else, I suspect), but I'm not going to comment on the colors. Instead, I noticed that your <table> code is wrong. Your <tr> tags need to surround your <td> tags. I suspect the only reason the output turned out decent was because Internet Explorer inserted dummy <tr> tags for you.

One suggestion I would give you is to download Mozilla Firefox and test out a few pages with that browser also. Since you seem to be learning HTML and CSS at the same time, it would be good practice later on to see how the two browsers differ. I would suggest taking a look at IE6 too, but that can come later.

 

If your going to test in a browser, use opera. It scored the highest on following WC3s recommendations, meaning that it looks the closest to the way it should.

 

Opera would work just as well. Of course, a serious web developer would test on all of these browsers and on different operating systems. I have read that it scored the highest on following WC3's recommendations under one study. Another similar test is the ACID 3 test, in which Opera 10.0 Alpha 1 seems to finally score 100. Firefox 3 is only at 93, but the Webkit browsers have been at 100 for a long time, so they may be the best under that standard Compare with IE, however, which only scored 21!

Ah, but if you only want to test it on a few browsers, it would not be smart to test it on Opera. IE and Firefox clearly have the majority of the market share, so testing your code for those two is the best choice

 

ehh, why should they buy a mac??
anyway, personally I have four browsers: IE, Firefox,Safari and Google Chrome... it's always good to test in as many as you can and bother.. but those are the four biggest atm..

 

Having both Safari and Chrome is redundant, considering both of them use the Webkit browsing engine.
