The Dark has been demoted.

I'm not posting my reason. If you are staff or The Dark himself, you know my reason.

 

If you don't have anything to contribute to the topic of The Dark being demoted, do not post here or you will be infracted for spamming.

The only reason I'm not closing this thread is because Sythe purportedly said that he supports the idea of the staff having to justify their votes to the public, something which I do not agree with.

 

To mention that 1 of the 2 was himself, =P.

I don't understand why he has anything against homosexuals?

 

Although I don't really know The Dark I think this demotion is very justified, banning people for their sexual orientation is just plain wrong, as well as insulting them because of it as well. And as Finn said that there is much more to it than just that. But honestly you don't even need more justification to demod him, you wouldn't even need anymore to ban him.

Also on a side note, someone remove his username image as he is not a mod anymore and he does not deserve it.


Also I want to see why the other mods chose to demod him as well. And why the other mod voted against it.

I see you there phsynosis, I am very interested to see why you voted against demodding him.

 

I would like to hear more staff, but I think most will say the same thing as Finn. I agree, he was being a dick and he deserves this for being an ass, not being a bad HUE.

 

Its about time, i mean seriously. What I don't like about the whole U.E thing, which i doubt the mods care, is that a person who just posts guides can become a mod? I mean seriously, thats bs enough as it is. The Dark is not fit to be a mod, so glad to see the staff voted accordingly.

Honestly their are reasons why he should have kept it and reasons why he shouldn't. He knew what he did was getting out of hand, and I was there for the whole thing. As a mod he should have been able to keep his cool and not let his powers get to his head. Maybe one day he will join us again after he has changed his perspective at sythe and realised what he did might have been wrong. Well I wish TD the best of luck in the future.

 

Yea, I have seen many people that get into a place of power in RL and online and they change a lot. It goes to their head and its really sad when they ruin it for them selves for doing stupid things, even when they are doing a good job.

 

I voted to demod The Dark specifically because I saw that he was arguing and flaming in the Staff Lounge. That sort of behavior is absolutely unacceptable coming from a staff member. Personal problems can be handled in one-on-one conversations, away from everybody else, in a respectful and mature manner.

There was an argument on some thread, and The Dark was flaming. That's really all I can say.

 

For reasons mainly stated by Finn, TD has shown a level of discrimination and immaturity that is not acceptable when reflecting upon the site as a whole.

I don't know if they will remove his Username Image. A couple other ex-mods, such as TDD, still have their image, so I suppose it's up to admins whether or not to keep it.

On a side note: I agree with what you are saying Shredder. Flaming isn't the image (or shouldn't be the image) of this community. >_<

However.

The Dark should not be a moderator as User Educators should not be moderators. That was not intended to be so, and as such, the admins should take responsibility. I say you should have removed his staff position and just put him back as a Head User Educator.

You all defended the position, now you see why you were wrong.

Finn, I can respect you, but seriously, get the fuck over it. Grow the fuck up, and don't get offended every time someone insults your desire for male genitalia. If I was insulted every time someone called me a name, there'd be a lot of bloody lipped people.

Who cares if he's a moderator, he has that right too. If you're trying to enforce him not having freedom of speech, you might as well just ban him like you do everyone else who voices their opinion.

Demodding him was right, however, removing his head user ed position is not. It should not BE a staff position, and it is YOUR fault for allowing such to occur.

And good job Sythe, you're becoming a little more open for your reasonings. Instead of allowing him his dignity, you showed your asses by posting a poll from the staff section based on FINN's, of all people, offended reaction.


I think the dark was well within his rights as admin of Vent to ban you for whatever reason he felt, just as you all voted to ban him because you were offended.


Think of both sides of the spectrum before you begin to insult him.


Furthermore, those who voted based on his behavior, maybe you should all look inward and realize not one of you are better. You ban/infract/flame members simply because you are staff and can get away with it. You're fucking hypocrites all of you, except Pshynosis, are fucking morons and can't even concept the idea that maybe, JUST MAYBE he was trolling.
